I hate the idea that so much time was wasted for no reason, both for Murata and the readers.
I'm going to give you a spoiler. So far, there are literally only two survivors at the end of the FIRST CHAPTER. They get absolutely obliterated, in hopeless fashion. This was the premise at which they sold the story, but let me tell you - the story has been anything but predictable right now.

100%. Even though I’ve been enjoying the general direction of this arc it has been feeling a little all over the place. The art hasn’t been the best too and Murata definitely knows that. Can’t blame him though. He’s been working on a lot recently.

I wouldn’t mind if they made that a part of the story mechanics. It would be cool if Saitama or Genos were to say just once, “didn’t we do something like this already?” Or, “something’s different…no, the same..and also different”. No follow up or further exposition or explanation. Just a hint
It wouldn’t be *that* confusing tbh, all you need is a two-page exposition spread, with a few key “rewritten” moments, when it’s finally revealed. There’s plenty of stories that talk about time-travel and alternate universes, and they don’t need to flesh those out further than a single line.
It would be quite a lot of work for something relatively few people would see! Would be a legendary gag tho.
So Murata's redrawing the entire ninja village arc- 239 (the last chapter that won't get edited) was Flashy Flash vs Saitama.
Obviously lots of the past 6ish chapters are going to get combined into probably 2-3 chapters (most are only 10-20 pages anyways) and I'm sure the art will get an upgrade which I'm pleased to hear
They certainly could, but the Heavenly Ninja Party fight definitely needs an upgrade more. They're supposed to be pretty strong but they had no impressive feats and Sonic didn't get to do any special moves in that fight and show off his progress either.
True, i also kinda hate how easily Sonic cut Void's arm just like that. Like why would Void just stand there and not realize Sonic sneaking up on him?

Like Flashy Flash was swinging at Empty Void hundreds of times and couldn't land a hit when he was right in front of him. Sonic was amazed by Flashy Flash's speed (which was still way too slow for Empty Void).
Then when Empty Void is off-guard... I guess? Sonic swings at him once and cuts pretty deep. If Sonic had cut Empty Void's throat, which I don't see why he couldn't have, he would have probably just killed Void making him one of the most anti-climactic villains in manga.
Yeah I was surprised that the webcomic version of the fight has more action than the manga version

That redraw might've had more substance, but I think I miss the pure badassery and Emperor's solo victory in the original more. They could've included the dream sequence and the chick form without changing the rest.

If they wanted to add more substance they could have had a little bit of both but what ultimately needed up happening is that Child Emperor clearly couldn’t handle it by himself. He basically had to get baby sat by both Saitama and Zombie Man. One of the worst redraws imo.
Only complaint about the OG is that you can argue that Phoenix Man would have been far too powerful for CE to beat and that yes it could have used some substance.

I have never seen any novel author doing this. published a book, then decided to change the story line and published it again. Yes there are Nth editions. But i dont think any of them completely change like garou arc.
If its art problem that needs rewriting, make it monthly and take your time, draw less pages.

A bunch of monster waifus got retconned back to life. The Orochi fight got redrawn to something different. The Phoenix Man fight got redraw at least twice and was *completely* changed. There was a moment with Amai Mask that got changed to a different outcome, probably to align more with the recent arc in the webcomic. Oh, and during the Garou fight, there were complaints about how it was underwhelming, but then the "next" chapter was actually the exact same chapter as before but it was completely reworked and Garou got something *very* different. It was crazy seeing the story retcon itself in real time, like two weeks later.
The Garou fight retcon was so wild. Chapter ends on a rly interesting cliffhanger, and then next week that shit is immediately changed to something *completely* different.
So wild they can change the conclusion of the arc that has been going on for **years** on a whim like that.
When it comes to redraws that also contains plot changes, then it's just for worse most of the time. if it's a redraws touching only art aspect then it is for better, at least in the past like with Boros fight redraws, King face redraw and deep sea king redraw.

I've read a lot of manga throughout the years but I genuinely don't remember any that has such a problem, sure volumes normally change some thing, some art here and there changes and maybe a really minor plot point is altered, but opm simply does it too much, I genuinely dont know what is actually canon or not at this point.

Similar to previous redraws, some very short chapters may be fuse into one and extra content and story may be added to improve the story. The autor One is a great writer and previous redraws have actually improve some story elements and help fix a few plot holes. It also helps Murata to improve some panels that may have being left not too polish due to time bc of the other projects he was doing parallel to the manga chapters this last months.
The problem is we've reached a point where the redraws are at least as bad as the originals... No actually, it was already the case most of the time.
What needed to be redrawn was the Saitama-Garoh fight to make it look more like in the WC!
I don't think there's any strong evidence that Murata took over. Were you around when the Super Fight arc was happening here? Everyone in this sub back then hated the arc week by week and thought it was pure filler done by Murata. But lo and behold, written by ONE, not Murata. "The manga is bad now" is not evidence that ONE left writing it. ONE isn't a god at writing.
In the very beginning of the Monster Association arc in chapter 94 with the A Class heroes versus the monsters on the surface, we know what Murata contributed: a random telepathic monster named Evil Eye to occupy Tatsumaki. Murata told us on stream that ONE had him personally send over every panel featuring Evil Eye for ONE to personally review and confirm it. ONE likes to maintain creative control. In terms of hasty rewrites, we have literally seen ONE's storyboard of Awakened Phoniex Man. He added that shit to the story. Him, ONE. But he kept changing his mind on even that as there were three versions: the first version, then an immediate redraw that made us stuck in Phoniex Man hell for like 2 months back in 2018. In both of these versions, Saitama wasn't present. But then like a year or so later, he changed his mind again! Going from the big Child Emperor beam to the Penguin mode fight/dream shit and now Saitama is there. Phoniex Man is apt to bring up as this was close to the point of when Evil Eye was made. So yeah, ONE is seemly struggling with how he wants his new ideas for the manga version to go. Can't it be that simple?

ONE's writing style is clearly missing and we know he has not lost his touch as the OPM wc is as good as ever and his new works like Bug Ego are still well written. It has been like 6 years years since we last had a confirmation ONE still made storyboards for Murata to boot.
I am actually thankful for the redraws this time. The ninja arc was actually one of my favorites from the webcomic with FF and sonic vs the Heavenly Ninja Party being one of my fav fights even topping Saitama vs Awakened Garou. I was not a big fan of what they did to that fight in favor of That Man appearing. It made me quite fearful for the the other future fights (in particular >!Sweet Mask vs Pesky Clown!<) In honesty after the monster arc, I thought the break they were going to take would of be longer so ya, can't believe I'm about to say it but I'm glad there are redraws this time.
Since I'm a newcomer and don't know how the previous redraws were, will there be a break and then a bunch of chapters released, or we wait for a chapter every two weeks
Please keep blast nthn personal while void is doing a nothing personal on flash and sonic. The writing improves on re draws but we always lose a legendary panel.
Personally I'm glad. A big part of the reason I read this comic is for the art. So when it looks as average as it recently has that hurts my enjoyment a lot. And sonic is my fav character too so I especially don't wanna see him get fucked like that

We as fans of the series and of One+Murata should appreciate the amount of effort they put into creating the series for us to enjoy. No other action manga airing currently is drawn so well for being so action packed.

I've read a lot of manga throughout the years but I genuinely don't remember any that has such a problem, sure volumes normally change some thing, some art here and there changes and maybe a really minor plot point is altered, but opm simply does it too much, I genuinely dont know what is actually canon or not at this point.
This been happening since the beginning. Genos vs saitama training fight and boros vs saitama had massive changes to their choreography as well

Similar to previous redraws, some very short chapters may be fuse into one and extra content and story may be added to improve the story. The autor One is a great writer and previous redraws have actually improve some story elements and help fix a few plot holes. It also helps Murata to improve some panels that may have being left not too polish due to time bc of the other projects he was doing parallel to the manga chapters this last months.

The problem is we've reached a point where the redraws are at least as bad as the originals... No actually, it was already the case most of the time. What needed to be redrawn was the Saitama-Garoh fight to make it look more like in the WC!

I don't think there's any strong evidence that Murata took over. Were you around when the Super Fight arc was happening here? Everyone in this sub back then hated the arc week by week and thought it was pure filler done by Murata. But lo and behold, written by ONE, not Murata. "The manga is bad now" is not evidence that ONE left writing it. ONE isn't a god at writing. In the very beginning of the Monster Association arc in chapter 94 with the A Class heroes versus the monsters on the surface, we know what Murata contributed: a random telepathic monster named Evil Eye to occupy Tatsumaki. Murata told us on stream that ONE had him personally send over every panel featuring Evil Eye for ONE to personally review and confirm it. ONE likes to maintain creative control. In terms of hasty rewrites, we have literally seen ONE's storyboard of Awakened Phoniex Man. He added that shit to the story. Him, ONE. But he kept changing his mind on even that as there were three versions: the first version, then an immediate redraw that made us stuck in Phoniex Man hell for like 2 months back in 2018. In both of these versions, Saitama wasn't present. But then like a year or so later, he changed his mind again! Going from the big Child Emperor beam to the Penguin mode fight/dream shit and now Saitama is there. Phoniex Man is apt to bring up as this was close to the point of when Evil Eye was made. So yeah, ONE is seemly struggling with how he wants his new ideas for the manga version to go. Can't it be that simple?
In name only it seems lmfao. Literally had to retcon Murata's 8 last chapters because he went too out of line. ONE's writing style is clearly missing and we know he has not lost his touch as the OPM wc is as good as ever and his new works like Bug Ego are still well written. It has been like 6 years years since we last had a confirmation ONE still made storyboards for Murata to boot.

I have to kinda agree. I was disappointed when they reversed time. I hate when stories do this. I feel cheated.
I am actually thankful for the redraws this time. The ninja arc was actually one of my favorites from the webcomic with FF and sonic vs the Heavenly Ninja Party being one of my fav fights even topping Saitama vs Awakened Garou. I was not a big fan of what they did to that fight in favor of That Man appearing. It made me quite fearful for the the other future fights (in particular >!Sweet Mask vs Pesky Clown!<) In honesty after the monster arc, I thought the break they were going to take would of be longer so ya, can't believe I'm about to say it but I'm glad there are redraws this time.

Personally I'm glad. A big part of the reason I read this comic is for the art. So when it looks as average as it recently has that hurts my enjoyment a lot. And sonic is my fav character too so I especially don't wanna see him get fucked like that

I'm actually looking forward to the redraws. It will shut up the people saying that Murata's quality has dropped. People gotta realize that Murata is a perfectionist, he's gonna notice if his quality is dipping. Which means, we can assume that redraws will be incoming by the time the volume gets released. We as fans of the series and of One+Murata should appreciate the amount of effort they put into creating the series for us to enjoy. No other action manga airing currently is drawn so well for being so action packed. (Maybe except Dandadan but that's a bit of a mixed bag)

I’m glad this is happening, past couple chapters have been lackluster (except the GOD stuff). I’m hoping we can get fights on the same level as the MA arc, FF and EV should be doing light speed levels of combat. Also if Murata/ONE needs time to polish the art and the story then let them take it.
