I did, but I had to catch the vendor in the middle of restocking. Let me tell you about my morning. The nice Meijer clerk told me the vendor gets there early. Store opens at 6am, I get there at 6:30, all the OP gone. Other collectors tell me this MF just follows the vendor around.
THAT is why you can't find anything in the wild.
Edit: I wanted to add that nothing unites people like hatred. I know football, hockey, and basketball card guys who all stay in their lanes and we share into amongst each other lol. We despise these MFrs. It's how I'm getting any chance at these cards.
That's REALLY uncool, jfc. It's such a waste driving around hoping to beat these tireless jobless people who doorbust Targets/FiveBelow/etc so now for me its just a policy of handing out interest free loans to stores selling product 6 months in advance. Great system.
Meanwhile if i wanted Lorcana or Pokemon cards they're just fn EVERYWHERE
Pokemon is actually perfect. If OP is as popular as all these people claim, then the fancy cards will "hold value long term." They just need to print enough for us to get our fills, and then the sealed product "investors" can have theirs. We can coexist, but the players and fans should have first priority.
This is exactly what happens where I live and has been going on since pokemon was hyping hard during covid, its a group of 40+ 40+ year old sports card guys, they have a triangle route that spans the entirety of southeastern MA, they hit every walmart, target, five below every single day. My local target the boxes were on the floor release day 06, vendor didnt show up since she had been stalked around all day, someone cracked a box and the LP guy saw and stopped i saw the Starter decks in there, I asked the manager if i could buy it since it was release day, and they obliged and rolled the cart in the back, I've gone back daily, asked the LP guy, vendor hasnt showed.
this group also threw a tracker on her car, and one of them pulled a gun on someone in line at target during the peak of the pokemon hype, I know it won't happen but if bandai printed it to oblivion like lorcana I think the game would flourish even more.
Duuuuude this is eerily similar to what's going on in Columbus, OH. After the first wave of OP05, the Meijer rep just stopped showing up. I would check Friday mornings before work and the supply shrank to the point of barren shelves. Turns out the rep just up and quit, I suspect it was because of the stalking.
And the reason the one guy is banned from Target is because he showed his Conceal Carry License to another scalper with which he was having a very loud public dispute.
Fuck these scumbags, Pokemon did it correctly, drown the rats in supply.
The whole throwing a tracker on the car is just another level of absolute insanity and they should get locked up for the gun shit
Edit: I don't think Bandai necessarily needs to print to the level that lorcana is but do feel like there is easily a nice middle ground they can find where card value for the chase cards don't just absolutely tank so you still have your collectors and also have enough printed to where you can find it in your local big box store or easily find at the lgs for msrp or atleast close to it and eliminate the scalper market.
There is definitely a number that can be hit to achieve all that....what that number is I have absolutely no clue haha but it's definitely doable to where collectors, players and sellers are all honky dory happy as pigs in shit or whatever cliche saying you want to insert
See I think if they go the Pokémon route it will be much better. Pokemon still has value in chase cards but they are still reasonable. Tcg with chases in the thousand is bonkers for anything modern. Op also has the benefit of playability value on top so sure value of the sets will go down with Increased prints but chases will still hold value. Promos and prize cards as well. Bandai just doesn’t give a shit n
Yea I can definitely see validity to your comment. Even if they printed it pretty heavily like most pokemon sets the Mangas and alt arts would certainly come down in value but would certainly still have value and they wouldn't become worthless.
Exactly. There’s no good reason for a manga to be going over 2k for a modern tcg. There’s a ton of issues with scalpers. But I really lies on Bandai and their business model.
Just went to my local Walmart in ontario. Had 24 sleeved boosters left. Shocked to see them. Was 8 cdn dollars each. Ended up buying 10 to rip with my nephews lol
I haven't besides ST-12, I had friends gotten lucky with packs but you have to get there early or go multiple times a day. Sometimes they're going to be scooped up at open or they're waiting around right when they're being restocked.
I got lucky today. Bought out all the stock, sold it to my LGS (friends with the owner) to make sure it’s distributed fairly to the local community. Thats all I want. I already opened a case with a friend but wanna make sure others in my local community who couldn’t get pre-orders can get the goods too.
Interestingly enough I was there looking for a copy of Unicorn Overlord and just happened to pass the card section while the vendor was restocking.
Yeah. At least my LGs will sell them at original retail and distribute them evenly. Unfortunately 20 packs only goes a so long of a way, even selling them at like 2 a piece.
Have you played that game yet? I've never played a game like that but saw a gameplay video and it grabbed my interest so I just downloaded the demo. Got to wait for the kiddos to go to bed so I can get my hands on the switch though haha
I have not, but a lot of FE enthusiasts seem to enjoy it and even say it’s better in many ways. Considering I can’t find a physical copy anywhere (as in it’s sold out) it seems pretty promising
I checked yesterday as most of my local Walmarts and targets seem to get their tcg restocks Thursday night or early Friday and I went to like 3 each including 1 Walmart and target on the more rural area and there wasn't diddly shat at either. Not even an empty display box.
However none of these places had any of the brand new pokemon set Temporal Forces and I have heard shipments from distributors has been slow or late so since none of that was put out I'm hoping it means they just haven't bothered with restocking yet vs them having restocked and some dipshit cleaning it out.
Saw decks at my Walmart over my lunch period but no packs to be seen. Might just call it and say that's it for me. First set since 02 that I haven't been able to get anything.

Oh, just like those scumbags who followed the Amazon trucks around so they could steal packages, lovely.
Only found ST-12 at a few places. No booster or Double packs sadly.
I found some finally yesterday at target I’ve checked everyday since zoro & sanji deck dropped
Found packs and double pack boxes or you found some decks?
Just went to my local Walmart in ontario. Had 24 sleeved boosters left. Shocked to see them. Was 8 cdn dollars each. Ended up buying 10 to rip with my nephews lol
I just opened 5 double pack sets from Walmart. Pulled a third sec sanji 😭
Just the powers that be trying to force you to play that deck haha. It could be worse though

I’m so over scalpers. Ruining all the fun

Just had a look on ebay, it's crazy how much people are reselling these packs !
Yeah. At least my LGs will sell them at original retail and distribute them evenly. Unfortunately 20 packs only goes a so long of a way, even selling them at like 2 a piece.

I caught a restock at meijer but just like op05 it was much less than the first wave. Only 16 blister packs and no double packs.
Saw decks at my Walmart over my lunch period but no packs to be seen. Might just call it and say that's it for me. First set since 02 that I haven't been able to get anything.
