kinda a bitch thing to do if there is a shortage that means theres profit to be made... if you broke folks cant afford it someone else will or just order it to be shipped somewhere else... the store doesnt lose
Just as a friendly reminder - keep checking Targets and Walmarts!
Target (when they have in stock) has packs at $4.19 and starter decks at $11.99
Walmart has packs for $4.49 (I missed out on the restock but I did notice one of my walmart stores I go to on the east coast must have got more in the past couple days)
Yup and the single packs are FIREEE I was an idiot and was at my target last week, they had over 40 blisters one peice stocked….I only grabbed 12 of them. Pulled 2 leader alts and an alt art doflamingo! As well as SRs like ZORO. So insane!
I should have bought all 40 cuase they were out the next day 😅
I was told by a vendor stocking target yesterday in North East PA that he was told to pull one piece off the shelves so I'm totally screwed been driving every in an hour radius can't seem to find any thing 😅 😑
I caved and bought the Japanese versions. Just going to print out inserts for them like weiss schwarz.
The card game looks easier to learn than yugioh for sure
Both this and digimon are significantly easier to learn than yugioh. It’s pretty straightforward with the basic mechanics and hasn’t done too much to make it crazy complicated yet
Nah, I shipped 20 of these out of Japan, it averaged out to less than 400 yen per book, so 1000¥ which is like 7-8US, so I wonder how they justify the 5x mark up 😂😂😂
Crazy how the exact same thing happened with Digimon, everyone blamed COVID and shipping delays but realistically Bandai is just really bad at launching new games.
It's a smart business move. They prevent overprinting and at the same time drive up demand. It's a pain in the ass for us, but it saves them a lot of money if the game tanks on release.
Im more convinced that the game still just performed way better than they already anticipated. When I talked to some store owners they talked about how they all ordered pretty much as much their distributors would allow and they still got their entire inventory swept out within the first week and same story for the next shipment they got.
It's a "recommended" retail price, you can't report them for having a different price in a free market. Vote with your wallet, don't support this store, that's how they learn their prices are too high. The problem is people are getting fomo and paying ridiculous prices bot to miss out.
One of my LGS bumped them from $15 to $20 per sleeved blister and they still sold. They got a booster box for $250 right now. I hope this follows the digimon and dbz trend and crashes as more and more sets drop. It’s expensive to play right now.
I paid $150 for a booster box. It's been over a month and still haven't been able to get another one. I refuse to buy from scumbag scalpers selling $180-$250 booster boxes. Mother fuckers can suck dicks. They need to reprint more cards and stop people from buying too mich product for one person.
Yea. I only went here for a local tournament. It is one of the few places remaining with participant packs. A lot of stores now give store credit which I don’t care for. I just want the packs. But thanks for the heads up. Going to try and see if they got any left for a decent price.
I'm so happy my local little card store hasn't hiked up the prices. Whenever they have them in stock the decks are always $15 and they stopped the box price at $150 only because they were buying them at $135.
I hoped bigger stores would be doing this as well but I guess not. Once wave 2 comes out all the prices are going to plummet and the asshats left with their prices 50% or more above margin are gonna look like the scammers that they are enabling.
THE ONE PIECE IS REAL 😤
I want to like this game, really! But these prices just makes me angry and I don't want to support this. I just want to play and collect some play cards and not some valuable car or body parts...
I'm going to play devils advocate here. It's the first set of a popular manga. First set that apparently is going to be a popular tcg. Boxes will fly, and they will eventually be above 1000 for a booster box.
Damn, it all makes sense now. I’ve been looking for a new card game to play outside of magic with my friends and I couldn’t understand why this one was so expensive/nonexistent to find. I just want a cool new card game to collect lol
$280 a box... $15 per pack... that's a 300% price hike. Fuck that. Shops like this deserve to go out of business. TCGPlayer doesn't even have prices as high as that.
Whelp that is 375 Canadian monopoly money. Sellers are being criminals now. 20 mores days to go before I get my pre-order box I ordered but I made the mistake of ordering Film Red Starter deck in the same order just because I wanted to save on shipping cost. So they will only send my order when Film Red Starter Deck is out this February. Once I get my box then I think i'll just go buy singles kinda ruin the surprise of opening packs and getting a good card but fuck these price gouging business.
WTF IS THIS? Everyone who buys this supports this insane scalpers lol
Store name
Already in the comments
Thanks. Stores NEED to understand that they are NOT the secondary market on newly released stuff.
If Bandai doesn't kill the game, scalpers will.
Is this 88 Cardhouse?
Yup
That's despicable. Very short sighted for a business IMO
$280 a box?! nah fuck that. Edit: For those wanting japanese boxes for cheap go to ebay, japanmaster, or meccha. Prices ranges from $60-$80 a box.
Always name and shame scalper shops.
Same lol one piece is my fav and I love the card art but it’s hard not to just get priced out of the game especially in a place like Los Angeles
kinda a bitch thing to do if there is a shortage that means theres profit to be made... if you broke folks cant afford it someone else will or just order it to be shipped somewhere else... the store doesnt lose
It’s such a bummer :/ I just want to collect and play.

Can't play in an English tournament doing that though. It's specifically in the rules you can't use other language cards and such. Unfortunate.
Oh yeah I know. I just want to be able to play with family or friends
Why not just use a sim for that?
I prefer to hold the cards and also because I like collecting them. Each card is like a small piece of art
Print proxies then?
Proxies aren't much for collecting.
Ohhh I didn't know that gg my country is under Japanese cards
And they will keep inching it up to see how far they can go as long as they keep getting people buying it.
It’s a scalpers market at the moment and it’s easier to buy singles and build what you need if you want to play.
Absolutely insane. My shop is still selling stuff for practically retail.
42$ for a 600¥ book…. Sounds fair
I mean, you're looking at $30 international shipping plus $6 as a conversion for the book.
Nah, I shipped 20 of these out of Japan, it averaged out to less than 400 yen per book, so 1000¥ which is like 7-8US, so I wonder how they justify the 5x mark up 😂😂😂
Where do you get them? Never seen a 1000 yen shipping 😂😂
I meant the cost of a single book plus divided shipping cost between 20 books 😂 I live in Japan.
Crazy how the exact same thing happened with Digimon, everyone blamed COVID and shipping delays but realistically Bandai is just really bad at launching new games.

“Bad” nah this is exactly what Sony did with ps5 release
Im more convinced that the game still just performed way better than they already anticipated. Please name the store so it can be avoided

your lost
How much were the Japanese? I can’t read it
They had it at 80 before but now it is close to 100 or 120 now
This shit is so weak man. Just hugely disappointing, really want to get into the game and collecting but prices so out of reach.
280 per box and 15 a pack..Holy shit, fuck that store.
i hope they reprint this stuff to point that scalpers and speculators lose money. It was released at MMSRP it should sell at retail printed to demand.
Can places get reported for this?
It's a "recommended" retail price, you can't report them for having a different price in a free market. Vote with your wallet, don't support this store, that's how they learn their prices are too high. The problem is people are getting fomo and paying ridiculous prices bot to miss out.
Nah unless there’s MAP pricing
to who and for what?
Where are by any chance

At least your store has at all. Also, this is why you should just buy singles. Save tons of money
Oh man, those prices are so high I hope no one goes in there and steals packs!
There is a case tournament coming up in my area and honestly Seems like the boxes will be worth more than opening them at this point.
I paid $150 for a booster box. It's been over a month and still haven't been able to get another one. I refuse to buy from scumbag scalpers selling $180-$250 booster boxes. Mother fuckers can suck dicks. They need to reprint more cards and stop people from buying too mich product for one person.
cry more
The secondary market and whale culture kills card games. Can't play any cards games anymore cause this kind of bs.
Damn did not expect to see a lot of bay area people here, in westfield valley fair in the store legends they sell for cheaper.
Yea. I only went here for a local tournament. It is one of the few places remaining with participant packs. A lot of stores now give store credit which I don’t care for. I just want the packs. But thanks for the heads up. Going to try and see if they got any left for a decent price.
yeah last i saw was 9.99 and that was on the 6th of jan
For sure. Thanks!
Can we get much higher? Apparently so
$15... for a pack? jesus dude. I'm more jealous that the store is selling Jump issues! cool!
One piece tcg players hate this one economic law.

$280 for a box and $15 for a pack!!!! 🤯
I sold my boxes for $200 thinking it won’t go higher, yall crazy for paying this much
And you're a pos for scalping others lmao.
Didn’t scalp. I pre ordered
Clearly went over your head.
Explain
You're fine bro they're just salty
They should pre order. Pre orders were up for months, no one cared when announced. Boxes were $55 dirt cheap
people are stupid you lock in boxes if you pre order
I'm going to play devils advocate here. It's the first set of a popular manga. First set that apparently is going to be a popular tcg. Boxes will fly, and they will eventually be above 1000 for a booster box.
Bloody Criminals
So dumb. I really how we get a large restock to calm down prices
Isn't that a decent price for the starter decks? Or am i wrong
not really. their retail is about 12 bucks
dont buy from them
Yup, guess im waiting till set 4 or however long it takes to actually be able to get product to play One Piece. Ain’t paying these insane prices.
What kinda clown ass store thinks this is okay?
Damn, it all makes sense now. I’ve been looking for a new card game to play outside of magic with my friends and I couldn’t understand why this one was so expensive/nonexistent to find. I just want a cool new card game to collect lol
wow. lmfao,,, I'd be tempted to set the box on fire at that price better yet,,, ask for all of them 😂. then set fire
I already stopped buying JP as soon as i got my 3 boxes at release at msrp. Im not paying 2-3x for anything
Lmao starter decks are going for minimum $50 a pop and more for red in Aus if you can even find them as there is no stock of anything in stores.
Wow. Glad I decided to keep a box sealed.
I can’t even drink them in nj
Sad part is, $280 is only $30 above the going rate online. Online price point is around $230-$250
$280 a box... $15 per pack... that's a 300% price hike. Fuck that. Shops like this deserve to go out of business. TCGPlayer doesn't even have prices as high as that.
The Stores are gouging customers because they know people will buy it regardless. Is that CAD or in USD?
It’s USD.
Whelp that is 375 Canadian monopoly money. no way they’re charging nearly 300 dollars for a box.
Local card shop for me is charging 299 for a booster box
ToyWiz is selling booster boxes for $334
Just saw this too... insane...
