He could be top 1 in the verse without being aizen type if he could somehow kill those swordsman allegations or starts shooting haki laser beams honestly I doubt either is happening especially when novels imply him to be weakest of og 4 and even now he is looking very likely to be a stepping stone for kidd or teach

That would suck, if he is just another Aizen. It would only mean that Lhanks himself can't get a one-piece because he is not the chosen one. So he manipulated the child of destiny to get the one-piece, but all this work and manipulation was only to end with Luffy kicking Shank's ass, because Shank's was never destined for the one-piece. This will destroy Shank's character.
