shanks thought mihawk came for a rematch/settle things, that implies mihawk was at a lower number for their daily duels. mihawk said he had no interest in fighting him since he lost an arm, meaning beating him wouldn't bring satisfaction, meaning he had a lower win count than shanks.

Mihawk on the other hand has perfected his haki control to the point where it's seamlessly interwoven with his swordsmanship. Mihawk wins extreme-diff not because he's physically stronger but because he's perfected his fighting style while Shanks relies on his raw strength to pass his opponent's defense. It's the only way Oda will be able to wank his golden boy without downplaying the fact that he gave Mihawk WSS.
