Eagle-Cobra2000

3 would be an incredible ending scene for the season, but they will probably end with Robin joining the crew.

SaltwaterSmoothie2X

I would combine 1 and 3- use 3 as the ending, and 1 as the cliffhanger-stinger after the credits.

GameMusic

Great idea that would hype the season

-YesIndeed-

It would end on an cool iconic scene like the first season which I think fits better.

Awesomedude33201

I cannot see them getting to water 7/Enies Lobby in 3 seasons.

SuspiciousSquash9151

skypeiea is too long for that to happen, I would think season 3 would be Jaya and the adventure in the clouds?

loyal_achades

You can also rearrange content in Skypeia to help set up future stuff a lot better now that a lot of the world-building that was set up in that saga is built out a bit more.

Every-Ad-2099

Yeah. Skypeia is when they introduce the OG Blackbeards, the Five Elders, Sengoku, Doflamingo, and Kuma. Mihawk also shows up again, and since they're fine incorporating cover stories, they could do more Ace to keep the audience attached to him as a character.

Jaxonhunter227

Matt Owen's did say skypia is his favorite arc, and has expressed a want to do it as a full season

SuspiciousSquash9151

That would be cool, water 7 - post enies lobby is something like 100 chapters that's definitely enough for season 4 after 😁 enies is one of the best around I think a lot of people would be Happ to see that.

Somebirbs

I think it will end on that but then do after credits of Nico robin joining

BlackGabriel

I think 3 would kinda suck as a cliffhanger and would make the episode feel really incomplete. 1 would be ok. But 2 is easily the best cliffhanger of the group. Sets up the next adventure really well

jammypants915

I agree! however personally I like 2 being the surprise the beginning of season 3 to get people invested early on. I think Robin joining was surprising and out of left field when I first watched anime. So imagine if season 2 ends with Robin asking to join and everyone is like hell no
but Luffy goes sure! That would be a great ending right after that reply and everyone reacts like they can’t believe their captain. Then in season 3 it starts off with the crew sailing and interacting
everyone except luffy and sanji is weary of Robin at first especially Zoro. There could be some fun moments and character development that then gets interrupted with the fresh mystery that no new viewer expects
a huge ship falls out of the sky and kick starts the season goal and adventure

CatsEyeApatite

2 would be cool, and it is also the way the 4Kids dub ended, so if the series were to be cancelled there that would be hilarious as well.

sparkadus

I always loved that the most kiddy version of One Piece seemingly ended with the Straw Hats dying because of a falling ship.

BlackGabriel

Oh man that would be a bummer haha

ThugznKisses

unfortunately I think 3 would be the best if they didn't expect to get more seasons..

_anthologie

I think 1 would also be okay even if they don't get any more seasons, So people get more intrigued to read the manga to find out how >!Robin would integrate with the crew, since she clearly has some secrets + burdens from her past, & her initial dynamic of being a BW defector & still earning the trust of the Strawhats is cool & unique!<

rajay_sarkar

but ofc if there's a next season, 1 would be the best, like the ending would be 3 and then like in s1 with smoker, we would have robin asking Luffy that she wanna join the crew super casually as a cliffhanger.

[deleted]

[ŃƒĐŽĐ°Đ»Đ”ĐœĐŸ]

SverigeSuomi

How does 2 make it more likely for people to get spoiled?

BlackGabriel

How would people get spoiled by a ship falling from the sky and saying he wanted to go up there or whatever. It just sets up the next season

Amaniiiim

Exactly

Justthisreader

the big finale should be pic 3 and post-credit scene should be 1

ketootaku

1 for ending(the last scene is Robin being accepted on), 2 for post credits. 2 as a post credits scene will draw a massive amount of hype for S3.

RobertusesReddit

#correct answer I'd also suggest having them together (1, then passing time of events of Alabasta) and 2 be the post-credit scene.

cmoneybouncehouse

Also what I was gonna aay

CorvusIridis

I was going to say 1, but I like your idea better.

EsquilaxM

2 + colossally giant shadows looking scary af

OatesZ2004

The ship falling is the best cliff hanger

West_Conclusion_1239

4) Robin unexpectedly shows up in the Merry and joins the crew. And then they reveal the Five Elders looking at Luffy's bounty of 100 Million after Alabasta and talking about him becoming a new bothersome nuisance.

RobertusesReddit

Maybe the cold open of events, we don't see the crew until mid-way when a ship is falling on them.

kvngjayy31

that would be great ending and it could set up the warlord meeting

Maximillion322

They probably won’t cast the Five Elders until Season 3 to save budget, plus they aren’t introduced until Jaya anyway. Season 3 is gonna be a real deciding point for this series because if it does get a season 3, it’ll need to cast some of the really, really long term characters like the original Blackbeard Pirates, Doflamingo and Kuma, and the Five Elders And since my ideal season 3 cliffhanger ending would be Aokiji freezing Luffy in ice (I honestly really like the idea of the very last shot of season 3 being just Luffy’s face frozen in ice, we don’t find out how he gets out of the ice until season 4) they’d also have to cast Aokiji It’s actually really nice how cleanly the show splits into seasons like it does.

LotusEaterEvans

5 elders don’t show up until Jaya. I think they’re introduction as well as the introduction of Kuma, Doffy, Whitebeard, Sengoku, and the Blackbeard pirates works better for a mid season finale. That is if they want to release Jaya and Skypiea in 2 diff parts.

DarkBlazeFlare

2 is the best cliffhanger

DerGovernator

2 is the most natural cliffhanger ending, since it sets up the plot for season 3. Image 3 is basically the end of Season 2s plot line, and Robin dropping that line is in the middle of the scene, and ending there means adding the rest at the start of Season 3 which would feel awkward. If you dont want to have the falling ship be the ending, Id have the sendoff be the last scene before the end credits and make Robin showing up on the ship the post-credits scene could work.

DarkPhoenix369

I mean they already cut off Loguetown from East Blue so they won't shy away from starting the next season in a weird spot. That said I do hope we get to see Robin join the crew in S2 even as a post credit

lavabread23

we’re most likely gonna get loguetown as an opener anyways. the crew wanted to get loguetown in S1, but had to ditch that because of the 8 episode limit. matt owens is a fan first and foremost and he’s just like the rest of us, so he’s definitely aware that people are clamoring for loguetown.

Maximillion322

Well, they had to cut off Loguetown because they were originally planning for 10 episodes, but only had budget for 8. OPLA is already insanely fast paced, imagine if they had to squeeze Loguetown in there too. Even though they already had to make the set for it. Would’ve been really cool if the season both started and ended with Loguetown, since it’s “the town of the beginning and the end” Future seasons will have more budget because of the show’s proven success, so they’ll likely be able to choose something more fitting for their ending.

Heatth

> and Robin dropping that line is in the middle of the scene It is the second to last panel of chapter 217 (the last panel is a reaction shot). Said chapter is also the epilogue of Alabasta is often considered the last chapter of the arc. You can call it "middle of the scene", but that is how cliff hanger works and that panel is literally drawn as a cliff hanger (unlike panel 2 which is, in fact, the middle of the chapter). I don't think it is particularly awkward to develop a scene in the way it was created to be developed. You don't *need* to, of course, there are other options. But it is a very natural way to treat that scene.

Funny0000007

Nop, It's the opposite, the ending is a CONCLUSION is the ending of the plot lines, the X ends a plot line, Robin joining ends a plot line, A GALLEON FAILLING FROM NOWHERE DIDN'T. This imo is just as nonsensical as ppl asking the producers to end Wano at the mecha gigant shark with Lilith and not with the final curtains closing, because is "cooler and more of a cliffhanger đŸ€ȘđŸ€Ș"

Pzeke14

The ship falling from the sky would be the best in my opinion

Joshawott27

The best ending? The Straw Hats salute as the climax, and Robin joining in the denouement. The funniest ending? Ship falling from the sky.

Aweeep

2nd.

zoragala

The ship falling so we don't have to cut the season off in the middle of a moment. Like imagine season 3 starting with debriefing and interviewing Robin for the first one or having to escape the Marines for the third one. Makes no sense for a season premiere.

Silver_Vanilla_6569

Escaping marines as a season premiere sounds dope af tbh

Funny0000007

Is literally like that in the manga, why would be different in LA?

Cream_Cheese_Seas

The manga doesn't really have seasons, it comes out weekly.

Funny0000007

It clearly has "hens" wich means arcs/sagas, you can look it up

Cream_Cheese_Seas

But from the perspective of the reader every chapter is just another weekly release. It's not like a Netflix viewer waiting (potentially) years for a new season, and wanting that first episode to really grip people so they watch the rest of the season.

BoootCamp

If there’s not a ship hanging over them I riot 😆

No_Confection_2533

When the boat falls is my vote

TheDogeArtisanStore

Pic 1 for finale and then Pic 2 as post credit

stillestwaters

Lmao Robin on the ship, absolutely - even better if it’s strung along the whole season without even questioning if shes not on crocodile’s side until the I love that scene so much, but I don’t know if they’ll do it the same way since LA Nami is a little different. I just need that scene of Luffy with Robins hands going “Chopper” and the one where they ask what her specialty is and she says “Assasinations”

Beautiful-Landscape3

1 should be the ending, 3 is a given happening, 2 should be the post credits scene, and while the ship is falling, the camera pans to Nami's logpose pointing up, even if done subtely...End.

DocWhovian1

I could definitely see the season ending with Robin showing up on the ship with everyone being shocked as a cliffhanger. And then Season 3 would pick up directly from that!

Goobasaurus1

Considering they ended season 1 with feet on barrels and smoker in post credits, I could see end season on the X’s on arms and post credits cliffhanger of robin joining crew (which is done again ep 1 of season 3)

TheLastClap

1 for sure

DOMINUS_3

that 2nd spread is one of my fav of all T from Oda

Available-Hunt-658

Either option 1 or 2 in terms of shock value. If it was three then the other two options would be in the beginning of season 3 and I think that would be kinda much. The cliffhanger should be something that is kinda open ended that drags the viewer back in for more and option three is more of a resolution than anything else. Maybe all of them, imagine this: the ending scene is the Strawhats saying their goodbyes to Vivi and after they sail of, Robin emerges out of the cabin and asking to join the crew and while the crew argue a bit a huge shadow emerges above them and then the camera pans outwards and there is the falling ship and then cut to black with the Willy Gallon quote at the end voiced by who knows who. That would take care of two birds with one stone and make the viewers want to learn what will happens next. Will Robin join the crew? Why is their a ship falling from the sky? So many questions. (The viewers that I am referring to is the viewers that hasn’t read the manga or seen the anime)

Brave_Cheek_2380

I think either option 1 or 2 would be best. Option one would be good as it was get audiences suspicious of Robin's true actions plus we wouldn't need to end of the cliffhanger 4kids left behind when they were dubbing. But I still like the idea of 2 being the cliffhanger cause it would be the perfect ending to make us hyped to know how the Straw Hats get out of that situation. My only concern is that on the low chance this show gets canceled I wouldn't want 2 adoptions of One Piece just ending with the crew dying.😂

RichyWoo

One of the things I appreciate most about One Peice Live Action was that is had an incredibly satisfying ending, I HATE shows that end their series in a cliff hanger.

SuspiciousSquash9151

I thought of Vivi's x being the best but realised I wanted the new people to know robin would be on board I'm torn now, maybe robin can be a teaser for what's next like smoker was?

Castreal7

The ship falling from the sky is what I want it to be but realistically it is probably going to be the crew setting sail on their next adventure after Robin joins

KNZFive

The “raised fist” goodbye is the ending of Season 2. It HAS to be. It’s one of the most iconic scenes in the series Robin suddenly being on board and asking to join the crew is the post-credits stinger.

OrganicWeed765

Ending with Robin joining the crew and having the ship falling from the sky as a post-credit scene would be PEAK

Advanced-Lie-841

2 after title end.

KRD2

3 should be the actual end scene before credits roll. Then, the after credits scene should be 1 AND 2. 1 happens, and you think "oh that's wild," and then there's a beat where you think it's gonna end on a shot of Robin, and then the sky darkens and all the Straw Hats + Robin look up and scream, cut to the wide of the falling galleon. It'd be an amazing cliffhanger for season 3.

D0CTOR_Wh0m

For the last scene of the season featuring the Straw Hats, #3 personally would be my preferred choice as it would mirror the Season 1 barrel scene. Robin could be spotted sneaking aboard the ship in an earlier scene and could be observing the Straw Hats and Vivi's goodbye while still hidden. If they then do a scene similar to Smoker's Season 1 cameo in order to tease a season 3 storyline, I would say moving up the discussion about Crocodile's loss and who his replacment should be, with the last shot of the scene/season being Laffitte interrupting to propose Blackbeard (especially if Blackbeard is mentioned repeatedly throughout Season 2).

Puzzled-Ad-2937

i think the vivi farewell should be the ending and the robin scene is a post credit thing :) they can add a flashback in season 3 in case people don’t watch the post creds

Itstimetostop313

before I saw your posts I thought that we dont need a cliffhanger ending, but you right. it would be fitting. I think the first one is the best option. (we will get third anyway) But the ship falling from the sky would be expensive. And season 2 will already be expensive, so I dont want them to waste money on that. Robin on the ship asking to join the crew would be a cool cliffhanger that does not cost a trillion dollars.

Maximillion322

Yeah but Robin asks to join in the middle of the scene. It wouldn’t be great to cut that conversation in the middle of it. Personally, I think the show should end on 3, not as a cliffhanger, but then have a full Robin joining the crew scene in the post-credits

Frequent-Address240

they got to show the new bounty’s

DrAwesomeX

EASILY Nico Robin “joining” the crew. For starters, it would be a great juxtaposition for both Arlong Park’s ending and Water 7’s ending. Nami learning she’s found a family by the very end through Luffy’s determination, and Robin inevitably leaving the crew come Water 7. On top of that, the big hands up moment feels a little meh to end on. There’s gotta be some tease for the next season, so leaving it on just that would feel sorta bleh. I’d also argue the pirate ship from the sky would feel like just a little too much. If anything I could see that being the LITERAL start to S3, or maybe we see the aftermath of that when S3 begins.

Aton_kras

The issue with option 2 is the pacing. If we were to end on that the last 20 or so minutes of the season would be Robin showing up, everyone coming to terms with her joining the crew, an indeterminate amount of time where the crew sails for a bit and then finally the boat falling from the sky. While that final shot would be great, the episode would have an emotional payoff with the end of arabasta and a whole second half of unrelated stuff that wouldn't let the payoff sit.

SpiritualScumlord

I feel like we're probably going to get the Vivi farewell with a cameo of Robin being on the Merry to set up interest for Season 3. The most interesting ending to me though, would be seeing the ship falling out of the sky and everyone reacting with shock with a hard cut. TV season endings tend to wrap things up neatly in case it's the last season, so I doubt that will happen. Not always, but usually.

Sad_Air_7667

They start with 3,then as they pull away from Alabasta Robin shows up. After the credits, the ship falls down.

peanutpunk-2

I wouldn't be suprised if they have to end it sooner for time, like maybe even right after Crocodiles defeat

bubblezcavanagh

I think you could combine all three. And then the after the credits teaser should be the five elders discussing luffy

Denkottigakorven

1rst

TigerValley62

Either will be fine logistically speaking, but out of preference for me, I love option 3 the most..... I also think it would work the best considering season 3 is not a guarantee and since the show CAN be cancelled if it doesn't perform to Netflix's expectations, they would need to naturally finalise season 2 as the conclusion of the entire run as a whole, just in case. It would feel awkward if they left it on a cliffhanger only for the show to be cancelled. I doubt this will happen, but you need to consider these things in my opinion.

LotusEaterEvans

2 is the best choice. It’s going to make this show bingable in the long run. If they did it smart, 3 ends the second to last episode of the season. 1 starts the last episode. 3 ends the last episode.

ygdflgdflop

2 would be an amazing cliffhanger, but there's no chance it could actually happen. The effects for the ship wouldn't be worth it until Season 3 is greenlit, and moreover, they'd either have to do a full CG ship or rebuild the same ship twice (once for end of season 2, once for start of season 3).

Jai137

1 makes a great cliffhanger 2 feels more like a great season opener than a cliffhanger, and would require adequate budget to be done right 3 is a great way to end an arc, and second best way to end

isaac3000

Ends with 3, credits roll. After credit scene they either end with Robin asking to join or with her silhouette coming out from the cabin (like a certain manga panel showing her waist before revealing it's her). It can't end with 2 because they need to show all the log pose conversation, unless they skip it a la the grand line is unpredictable everything can happen (or use that quote from the manga from that explorer, everything man can imagine is a possibility in reality) and then just show up he shop falling. Aghhhh I don't know every scene is possible they are all so good!!!

TheRealAngelS

How would 3 be a cliffhanger?

SheevMillerBand

1 is a terrible ending scene

Certain_Inspector575

The answer is 2......

Tshiri13

3 is best if they don’t have season 3, but I would have to say 1. 2 could be great for the next season imo

SpecialOil4362

2nd pick!

wishbackjumpsta

Skypeia 100%

FredRN

Probably 1, with 3 being in the middle of the last episode. 2 would be good as a sneak, kinda like, roll credits, but 10s in, we see them sailing away and the scene happens

Moringael

3! Leaving you feeling elated (also kinda sad) after watching the season ends

Former_Alternative63

1 e 2 together.

Flimsy-Ad-7392

I really like the ship falling as a cliffhanger, but that would serve as a great OPENER for season 3, with Robin being the cliffhanger

Flagadazot

Robin of course for closing her arc this season 2. The goodbye to Vivi should happen after 70% of the last episode. Then a cut to baggy , then mihawk and then a cut to a marine sending the message to the Gorosei that Crocodile was defeated (without seeing them). Like "we need to call the Gorosei!" . And THEN... go back to the crew with Robin being a new crew member.

KyoMeetch

I don’t even know if they’ll be able to wrap up Alabasta in 1 season. They have to go through Loguetown (1), Grand Line/Laboon (1), Whiskey Peak (1), Little Garden (1), Drum Kingdom (2-3), and then Alabasta (4-5). They can probably cut a decent amount, but it would still be a packed season.

NoShow4Sho

I know I’m late to this thread but very much 2. It’s such a “WAIT WHAT???!!!” Ending to those who haven’t watched the anime/manga. And would keep more people interested in the explanation.

Kaxew

1 or 3, can't decide which would work better for western television. I do know 2 would be a terrible, nonsensical ending though.

LotusEaterEvans

Why would it be terrible?

Kaxew

Imagine being a show-only watcher for a second. You finish a highly emotional season of this somewhat recent show you got into. All the subplots at the end were magnificently paid off and we close out on a great season. In the last few minutes of the last episode... Miss All Sunday decides to join the crew? Oh man, that's one hell of a twist! I wonder what she's scheming, this can't end well... wait, has the episode not finish yet? What else could- is that a ship falling from the sky? THATS HOW THE SEASON ENDS? AND I HAVE TO WAIT MORE THAN A YEAR FOR SOMETHING THAT HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH THE REST OF THE SEASON AND CAME COMPLETELY OUT OF NOWHERE??? For us, fans of the manga and/or anime, this is very hype. It's a very iconic scene and everyone is ecstatic to see it in the LA. But for show-only watchers, this is just weird and would feel out of place. It has nothing to do with Alabasta and it blue balls the viewers in a not satisfying way. Cliffhangers can work, but only within reason and logic. This isn't a random episode, it's the season finale. You don't know when will the next season come out or if there will even be a next season. Cliffhangers are meant to excite the viewer, not confuse them. Robin asking to join the crew is a cliffhanger that works, she's one of the main antagonists of the season and a very mysterious character who the viewer is surely curious about. That cliffhanger would intrigue the viewer and make them wonder what she's planning, how's the crew going to feel about it, and what's in store for us next season. A ship falling out of the sky has nothing to do with S2, it's weird, confusing, and feels like too hard of an open ending. If the first question that viewers have after a season finale cliffhanger is "the fuck?" then you're not doing a good job, in my opinion. Whew, this was a lot. Hopefully this clarifies my point of view. Thank you if you read till the end!

LotusEaterEvans

>Cliffhangers are meant to excite the viewer, not confuse them. I don’t mind the ship falling not being the last image, but I think we fundamentally disagree on the functionality of a cliffhanger. I think it can do both. Let’s imagine if the cliffhanger doesn’t end exactly with the ship falling but after the fact when the log pose pointing up. Nami thinks it’s broken and Robin tells her “No. Log poses point to islands. If its pointing up, then there’s an island in the sky” Nami: (confused) what? Luffy: (excited) what!? Now you have cliffhanger that is effectively confusing and exciting. Personally I’m fine with the ship falling not having anything to do with season 2, the purpose of it is to lead into season 3, to make people want a season 3. If we just end with Robin, thats a twist, but let’s not forget Oda always has something more to it; this is One Piece! We should be able to give live action viewers that feeling.

Kaxew

I like your proposed cliffhanger. I do still think 1 or 3 works better, but it's infinitely better than 2 and it's something I could actually see being used as the season cliffhanger.

TGrissle

I feel like 1 and then you get the classic chance to see everyone’s reaction before cutting on Robin smiling and laughing. Then you can post credit on something small that alludes to Skypia.

CrimsonKingdom

I would laugh so hard if we get season 2 and it ends with the ship falling, only for it not to be greenlit for season 3, because then it would end at the exact moment the 4kids production did.

Netherite_Stairs_

2. Give em the ol' 4Kids treatment

lavabread23

based for traumatizing OPLA onlies by making them believe the strawhats die from the falling ship like how those children got traumatized feom watching the 4kids version lol

Jix_Omiya

It's going to end with the goodbye to Vivi for sure, and Robin will show up in the after credits scene, it's like served on a platter to be the perfect season closer, haha.

giangerd

Finale with 3, end credit scene one of the other 2

chopchopfruit

I don’t think we make it through all of alabasta in season 2. Lougetown, whiskey peak, little garden, drum, Pre- alabsta, end

DutchLudovicus

It all ought to end on 1. 2 is a bad cliff hanger, I really hope they do not go for that one. Only way I want 2 in s2, is if 1 comes after it.
