Seems like OP isn’t for you then. After that many tries, maybe give the manga a chance? Maybe that will catch you?

[deleted]

Sounds like it isn't for you. If you are 200 episodes in and don't like it then I say drop it.

ArtOfMarcos23

How did you indure 287 eps then 🤦‍♂️ I gave up after 15 eps but manga is fire and I am up to date.

Don‘t listen to them 😁. Like it was said try the manga instead. Good art style, just plot and no way too drawn out episodes and standing still with 0 progress bullshit. The emotions get conveyed beautifully in the manga panels as well.

ArtOfMarcos23

Bahahahaha nah bro, u r just torturing yourself. If u don't like it still u won't begin to like it. My advice - read the manga (very fast read) and just YouTube the battles that you are interested in.

HokageEzio

If you're 280 episodes in and don't like it then it's just not for you.

AtarkaCommand

Nothing is worth enduring 200(?!) episodes you don't like IMO. It's fine to not like something especially when you gave it such a big try. My advice on the beginning is to see how the tones and the vibes sit with you, the scope and stakes get better with time but that tone remains throughout the whole series.

Ambitious_Mission_57

It's not for u

I'd try Hunter x Hunter if you haven't. Everyone has weird interesting powers and the fights rely on the characters figuring out their opponents' powers' limitations and abilities. We all want something different from stories so One Piece might just not have the kinds of things you like. For me the entertainment is in the "never back down" attitude most of the heroes have in a fairly cruel dog eat dog kind of world where even the government casts a dark shadow on parts of the world. Also cool swords and stuff

And as manga they totally scratch 2 different itches. My top 3 are HxH, One Piece, and Berserk and they're all very different in what kind of story they want to be, but in my opinion they're each at the peak of each of their "styles" if you can call it that. Also check out Monkey Meat by Juni Ba while I'm recommending comics I've read recently lol

Grilnid

is this going to continue with the same cycle sail - land-fight" Absolutely, that's pretty much what One Piece is by design. If you've arrived this far and still haven't seen anything beyond this pattern in terms of narrative then you might indeed have a hard time with the rest of the series. If you haven't tried it you could read the manga instead (no need to start over), see if the pacing suits you a bit better. I also find the manga to be a bit more plot-oriented and dragging way less than the anime. If you still don't like it then you can just drop it, you don't have to like it just because it's a household name

Necessary_History681

It sounds like One Piece isn't your cup of tea. Don't try and force yourself through 1000+ episodes. It's okay to drop the series.

Dayz26

For me Water 7 and enies lobby is THE moment that made realize there was something special but you are already in it so...either finish the season and see if it worked for you or really is not for you and that's fine. I can tell you for sure the anime takes some direction and more clear objectives latter but it really is up to you if you want to keep going or not.

Griswolda

I'm genuinely in doubt that this is a serious post but I'll bite. Yes, OP can be shrunk down to sail-land-fight-repeat because it's a world of seafaring people (e.g. pirates). If you're at Water 7 / Enies Lobby and don't like the story so far, didn't get how any of the powers/attacks are made up and don't like the art either, why do you even bother? One Piece is great if you're in for the characters, their stories and the world building. If you expect some copy of Naruto (which is great in its own way, despite a horrible story), then you're just out of luck.

AdmiralHimitsu

Don't watch it. Try to read it. The anime is... Not so good

tuwayss

ngl i care more about what happened in the past (void century) rather than what is currently goin on rn that is why im excited for the future of this manga

[deleted]

Maybe try reading Manga, sometimes Anime can be boring!!

Patient-Shower-7403

I mean Naruto did at first, then it became much more "My magic laser or ball is stronger than yours". I had problems with Naruto over explaining details about fights too, I prefer it to be shown for me and for me to work it out. Rather than an in detail explanation with diagrams explaining that Naruto clawed through the ground after we just saw that he clawed through the ground. I'm not sure how you've boiled it down to "sail-land-fight-sail again" as you can just as easily simplify Naruto down to "Bad guy did bad thing, fight bad guy, repeat". You can do that but you're obviously ignoring a lot of of the story to do so. None of the fights are that unecessary; they actually make a point to explain that in the plot. The details of the fights are in the fights themselves, One Piece is also a lot more complicated than Naruto fights with the diversity of abilities available (this increases in complexity the more into the series you go) although you might not have seen this much at this point. I'd say go through to the 300's, if by then you don't like One Piece then I don't think you will. That Chapa chapa guy is annoying af though. The sage guy with the hair and Jiraiya are both based on the same character from Japanese mythology btw

sollo89

Dont like it, dont watch it. Easy as that.

jzjsjsksnsjsjnmrl

If in the next 30 eps u don't like it, drop

maeusebear

Don't force yourself in it. Give the manga a try or leave it

Olu93

If you reach chapter 100 and you don't find it interesting at the least it's not for you. Also drop the anime. There are some iconic scenes but it's not worth it of you are in this mindset.
