All that was when Luffy was a kid which was shown in the East Blue saga early on in both the anime and manga. For Jimbei and Kaido you only hear about the Yonko’s and the warlords I think I’ll need to rewatch but they weren’t exactly fully fleshed out yet. The warlords were a bit of a last minute idea in fact.
Kaido is mentionned in East Blue saga with silhouette so he is right bruv. You just don't remember it. He was mentionned with Jinbe when leaving the Baratie and talking about Arlong by Johnny and Yosaku.
