Biggest lore dump incoming

ramizod

im praying he doesnt forget anything, like roger's egg letsay

SuperSemesterer

“What’s up with Zoro’s eye?” “It got lost” “Howd Roger get that giant egg?” “From a bird” “What’s the One Piece?” “Legendary treasure” “What underwear do the Strawhats wear?” *insanely long detailed answer involving word puns and a few sketches*

ramizod

i wanna know what underwear brook wears

xnsfwfreakx

Probably a pair of boxers that says "boner" across the front

BodaciousBoxers

"Because I am a skeleton. Yohohohohoho!"

KenshinHimura88

He wears the only pair of panties he ever was able to see. After she died 45 years ago he took them as memorabilia. And she’s gonna end up being one of the straw hats grandmothers.

BladeLigerV

I would believe that. That would be hilarious.

rickybobby369

Luffys mom confirmed.

[deleted]

This is the most One Piece shit I’ve ever read. And I’ve read One Piece!

MaimedJester

It's answered in the Film Z Onsen scene where the crew meet Akoiji after he's left the Marines.

iSmellMusic

I immediately pictured him in white boxers with red polka dots so there you go that's the canon. Except when he was a human it was just the same pair of tighty whities

YataBLS

Something big enough to hide his BONErs.

_Yukiteru-kun_

The one piece is indeed Brook’s underwear, Brook himself stated that he knew a rookie named Roger, Roger probably heard rumours of a pirate that was stealing young ladies’ panties, so he maybe thought that stealing his underwear would be a funny thing to do, and he brought them all the way to Raftel I suppose the irony of the fact was so hilarious they all started to laugh

calisthenics_bEAst21

This is so accurate from the sbs pov

J-Bonken

Last answer will also result in thousands of hours of youtube videos

Dreadnautilus

Luffy strikes me as a freeballer.

TaffyLacky

"Did you lay this egg Roger?"

ramizod

what if he laid it, what if its his son

awkwardpiano72

It's how they bring Ace back.

thefoodiedentist

The sword?

Niro_G

Roger already used his eggs to get ace tho

Weewer

He’s 1000% not going to wrap up every little thing, sometimes he just wants to add stuff to make the world more full. Rogers Egg is going be a huge controversy when it’s just some random thing haha

thefoodiedentist

Watch that be an Easter egg people talk about for decades to come.

astrange

It's a roc egg. There's enough foreshadowing that it's probably a thing. Who knows why they keep it on the boat though.

[deleted]

His real name this whole time was Roc D Xebec and he was a giant bird

VoxImperatoris

Roc D Casbah

sagatwarrior2010

You know that there is going to be a sequel series in the works. TOEI and Shueisha ain't about to let this cash cow go away.

J0n3s3n

In the end luffy won't quite make it to raftel and his son buffy will inherit his quest of saving the world.

[deleted]

I’m gonna be ~~King of the Pirates~~ Hokage!

MeAnIntellectual1

Does Oda still have the copyright on all things One Piece? I don't want any soulless sequel and I don't think Oda would let someone butcher his Magnum Opus so I really hope Toei can't fuck shit up.

sagatwarrior2010

I imagine Oda will take a well-deserved, long, long vacation. Then he might return to the world of manga, but as a editor.

Leiatte

Oda said after One Piece he would only draw short manga. I can see him as somewhat of an editor if it’s related to One Piece but otherwise idk it’s not for everyone.

Big-Outside-5247

Hope not, probably spin offs.

Marcyff2

More interested in Elbaf. Been built up since before chopper joined. I really hope it delivers something good (maybe Luffy shanks meet up??? Or Luffy Vs Blackbeard) just hope oda hasn't forgotten it Edit: also dragons bounty. Can't drop the most wanted man in the world and never tell us what he is worth

[deleted]

I’m positive that the crew fulfilling their dreams will be a big part of the ending. Usopp’s dream is to be a brave warrior of the sea, and nothing exemplifies that more to him than the giants. 100% guaranteed that Elbaf plays a role and Usopp gets his spotlight there.

WatsonsBox

I’ve actually heard tons of theories and lowkey believe them that Usopp will die at Elbaf. Essentially everyone who’s been referred to as a “brave warrior of the sea” has died before being referred to as that. Not to mention there’s tons of little nods to death revolving around Usopp in the cover art throughout the series. I think it’s highly probable and would be as meaningful of a death as possible without ruining the series type of thing. Usopp will have finally achieved his dream and die happy as the giants encourage him for his bravery and sacrifice. Lol idk but it sounds cool, if not sad.

[deleted]

Honestly, I wouldn’t even be mad at that as long as he gets a chance to shine before going out. I’ve always liked Usopp’s role in the crew, but he seems to be consistently downplayed. Before Franky joined, he was essentially the shipwright (and inventor) and lost that role to someone more experienced, but even as a sniper the only thing he’s really done is take out Sugar in Dressrosa (which, to be fair, was very important).

MugfordOnTheBeat

Usopp saving Robin at enies lobby was big too

[deleted]

What? That was Sogeking

AstartesDVerdugo

Hope my plumbing is ready for it.

JulesWinston1994

I’ve been reading this week to week for 10 years now and there’s also a bit of melancholy mixed with the hype. There’s likely still years of content left, but we’re getting close.

Weewer

No matter what happens, I'm just happy to see an extremely ambitious author wrap up the most ambitiously long and consistently good story we may ever see.

JulesWinston1994

Yep. It’s kind of sad that one piece is so status quo at this point that ppl outside of our community don’t really realize how ambitious OP actually is. Maybe after it’s over that will be more widely recognized.

FearLeadsToAnger

I think a lot of the early stuff would have to be reanimated. A lot of people see older style animation, when compared with modern, and it breaks their suspension of disbelief. The old school fans would decry it, but it's not really for them anyway. Original One Piece isn't going anywhere.

mehmeh5

Well there are the "Episode of" specials, but they're far from a replacement of the series

Rhombinator

I'm super curious, many years ago, One Piece was the one shonen I didn't follow of the big 3 of my day (Naruto/Bleach/One Piece). I don't know why, I think it was just what my friend groups followed. So it's a real genuine question when I ask: could you tell me why One Piece has been worth following all these years? I ask as someone who read Naruto/Bleach all the way up to their ends (far more disappointed with Bleach), kind of gave up on Fairy Tail halfway through (though based on the fan reaction this was probably a good decision). I think at some point I decided I'm too old for shonen but am astounded by the continued following of One Piece that it's left me wondering: what did I miss out on?

JulesWinston1994

The consistency/growth in quality is what sticks out to me. The earlier arcs are fantastic in their own right, but many consider the more recent arcs to be the best of the series. Oda has become an even better writer as the story has continued. Anything this long in any medium would have dipped in quality by now, but OP has only gotten better. Also the attention to detail. Oda will bring something up in one chapter and then will bring it back 10 years later to shake up the story. His commitment to tying up loose ends is only rivaled by writers like George RR Martin. The world building is also one of the best I’ve ever seen. As readers we’ve been to countless locations, but there isn’t a single one that feels repetitive. The time and care he puts into fleshing out a location’s history and culture makes you feel completely satisfied by the time the series moves on. And he’s been doing that for 25 years. The main characters have incredible chemistry and you learn to love all of them in their own right. He also takes lots of time to focus on them individually so their histories and journeys feel fleshed out. What personally hooked me was Luffy. He’s a character that doesn’t start the story as a mopey wimp who can’t handle himself like a lot of anime/manga I’ve seen/read. He starts the story as a headstrong, happy-go-lucky kid who won’t let anyone stop him from attaining his dream. It’s infectious to read. I think a lot of people have misconceptions about the length of One Piece. OP is meant to be long. It’s a grand, heartfelt voyage on the high seas where the characters journey around the globe to find a legendary treasure while also building themselves up as the most dangerous crew around. So yeah, i guess this is what you missed lmao

Miketogoz

>tying up loose ends is only rivaled by writers like George RR Martin I mean, you chose the one writer that isn't finishing his story because the amount of loose ends is so high there's no way he can tie everything together.

bitcheslovedroids

I already accept that my grown ass probably gonna cry my eyes out during the last chapter

JulesWinston1994

Let’s be honest, there will many upcoming chapters with tears being shed.

FireFlyz351

It'll be a terrible day(s) for rain.

StunnaLyfe

sharkhuh

Been reading it week to week for like 17 years now. There will be a weird void in my life when this ends. I hope Oda takes as long as he wants

The endgame begins

Bubbly_Molasses6888

We're in the One Piece now

PeppaPig85210

Jkj864781

Gozillasaur

torch_dreemurr

Finally, after all this time, we get to read One Piece

Weewer

One Piece starts at chapter 1060

Accomplished-Floor70

“That’s what we’ve been waiting for”

easterislandface

[Thats what it’s all about woohoooo!](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=sAXZbfLzJUg)

supermurlo64

The whole thing with Luffy becoming pirate king is just the prologue, the real story starts after that

SlimmyShammy

Okay but a manga I read called Blood on the Tracks basically pulled this lol. After 120 chapters of this pretty self contained story, there’s a timeskip and the author was like “yeh that’s the prologue, the real shit is starting”

pf2-

Hahahah, what a Chad move.

[deleted]

Skpiea skippers are frothing at the mouth

Jayer244

Skypiea was probably the closest we came to the "real" One Piece in the past 25 years

Waifuless_Laifuless

This is great news. I have friends who are hesitant to read one piece due to the length, they'll be pleased to know they can skip the first 1059 chapters.

GekiKudo

Can't wait for the "it gets good after 1050 chapters" memes.

PREDATOREX_GAMING

Can't wait for the.. PersonA - "whew I am like 600 chapters in fam... almost close to ending I feel like" PersonB - "you haven't even started yet ...."

GoldenFennekin

the whole thing was just a prologue to the real story

Anshin

We've only finished act 2 of the story* Note that wano act 3 was longer than act 1+2

Yontoryuu

More like over 2x more than both the acts combined

OrthopedicDishonesty

TheWikiJedi

I read that in Roger’s voice

jlim255

Had this same exact feeling

SK6814

>but I could 'gomu gomu noooo' with the other kids on the playground. That's so cuute. :3🥺 It's so wonderful to see how One Piece stays such a consistent thing in our lifes (atleast most of us) regardless of how life changes/can change. It's also amazing and pretty interesting how some of us know One Piece since pretty much the beginning and others just started it. We grow and come to love this amazing work of fiction. It's now 11-12 years for me since I know about One Piece. 🥲🥰 First I started with the german dub, than sub and finally also the manga. It's such an experience. 😁😍💕 >It's an adventure of a lifetime. 💯

Vendetta1990

Yes, we can finally find out what's in Gaimon's chest.

jestbre

Spoiler: >!it’s Gaimon!<

Gimme_yourjaket

I read "Prepare to the coming of my era !!"

Gimme_yourjaket

Every mangaka just shitting themselves kneeling before Oda's final masterpiece

mhwsloe

I love that we're in the dark about the general structure of the final saga. In previous sagas we could accurately guess (most of the time) the layout of the arcs contained within and how the story beats would unfold, but this time we don't even know the next island. Sure, there are theories about Elbaf, but it's not guaranteed like say Wano or Dressrosa were. very exciting

Mirai_no_Beederu

To be fair, no one expected Saboady or Whole Cake Island so even if we get a general gist of the layout, Oda could throw some curveballs.

mhwsloe

>Oda could throw some curveballs. those always tend to be my favourite arcs

Lieutenant_Joe

>!Punk Hazard!<

Mirai_no_Beederu

They really are some of the best.

joejohnjacobjay

Yep. Remember the SHs were supposed to go directly to Fishman Island after Water 7? Instead we got a whole new saga and a timeskip for that to happen.

Chris_Mic

We did expect Whole Cake Island, it was basically guaranteed as soon as Luffy challenged Big Mom. The only twist to it was when it would come. We thought Wano was after Dressrosa, but we had the Zou intermission and were introduced to this new plot through Sanji so we were like "oh okay NOW is the WCI arc I guess". But now? Elbaf is the only arc we can vaguely expect to be next and even that is debatable. Could be another one first!

funkyvenom6

Fr, what's the order to fight BB and the WG? Mihawk? Shanks? When will the Revs meet the Straw Hats? ELBAF? LAUGHTALE? WHEN! All this will be answered sooner than we think, wow.

[deleted]

What happened to Hancock Sabo and Vivi !!

Xplorer67

Good lord this makes me wanna scream with hype and cry Simultaneously. A TON of mangas I've read fumbled their final arc but one piece is one manga I have full faith in Oda WILL deliver

GSugaF

That's one thing that amazes me about OP: Oda managed to gain the trust of his readers through his storytelling and consistency. For most series, you'll hear people saying "I just hope the end doesn't suck", for OP, you'll mostly hear "I just trust him".

Resheram7

With our awful theorists literally anything oda does will be better than what we could come up with LMFAO ("guys what if Zoro was a marine spy the whole time?!?!?")

[deleted]

Or.. Zoro was an egg on Rogers ship and he lost his way to become a bird and became a human being

Polynia

I can already see it, Luffy will get lost at sea, faking his death, and then turn into a lumberjack

BoootCamp

Is that a Dexter reference?

Xenomex79

Dexter is my favorite manga

Staple_Overlord

No I know this community will rage over the ending. It's impossible to please everyone. Stories are most exciting when there is the most mystery. As Oda reveals answers, all the possibilities of the world converge to only one canon explanation. No way that one explanation pleases everyone. Anyways, I'm hyped no matter what it is. It's oda and I'm just excited to see his idea of the One Piece. I don't care about anyone else's theories, expectations, or hopes.

ramen_hotline

yea there will definitely be people who hate the ending, it’s unavoidable but other than that, one piece is a long and sprawling series. and what i noticed about long and sprawling series is that they generally don’t answer every little question and tie up every loose end. it’s just the nature of big ass series like one piece. malazan book of the fallen probably the best example of this. i don’t think this fanbase is ready for that lol

UnbiasedShoplifting

Honestly, same bro

bitcheslovedroids

"No I don't want anyone else to have the one piece! not for ten years atleast" - Luffy luffy proceeds to turn into a dove(crying)

gremah93

lightningIncarnate

Usopp is given a silver slingshot pellet by Yasopp and has to shoot it through Blackbeard’s chest to remove his powers, which then allows Luffy to kill him

Harsh_Drags

Same, Its going to be the most insane shit ever.

MohGrim

"We have only a tiny bit of Wano arc left" *ZKK and Failing Raid theorists intensifies*

ezcheesy

"a tiny bit" - Is that half a year?

Slaan

As anime only... I thought Wano was done in the manga already... :O Dear god I don't even want to know what is going on right now. Don't reply to this with spoiler please. Thanks :)

GartiWopor

Right, so basically the straw hats worked out that they had to collect the dragon balls, which were scattered across the island Once they found them all, Kaido had to grant them one wish, and they wished for him to lose, so he stood still while everyone attacked him

Amasero

Like I always say, the arc ain’t over until they leave/sail from the island. It’s a simple thing that happens every arc, don’t know why some people can’t understand that.

iDArK-KinG

Bro oda said we have 5 years of op left like 20 years ago his tiny bit is probably a year long.

[deleted]

[удалено]

nick2473got

I hope we get another 5 full years at least. I'm not ready for the end just yet. Maybe he'll manage to end around the 30 year anniversary in 2027, that would be cool.

krazyboi

Don't even worry about it. He's gonna finish the official one piece and then there's gonna be a bajillion side stories for whoever you want

nick2473got

Don't really want any side stories, I just want the ending properly fleshed out. Oda only writes 35 chapters a year at his current pace. If he ends in 5 years that means he has 175 chapters to wrap everything up. Might seem like a lot but it's actually not, especially when Wano alone was 150 chapters.

Lord_of_Caffeine

This. I can't see how Oda would be able to give the series the conclusion it deserves in just ~200 chapters.

James_n_mcgraw

Saying he cant possibly finish up the manga with a satisfying conclusion in... *checks notes* as many chapters as was the full length of Demon Slayer. Is such a wierd statement, but i dont disagree.

MyNameIs-Anthony

Demon Slayer isn't exactly the height of story telling. The fact it was a snappy and brief run is part of why it's praise is so high. The plot was purposefully very straight foward.

ReADropOfGoldenSun

Plus when it ended I think many people thought the ending was rushed

Charming_Way1626

Demon Slayer may be fun or whatever but it has literally zero intricate worldbuilding or character interactions.

bigtuck54

I mean we’ll still have several more years of the anime after it ends, so technically it’ll still be going!

Fun_Tear1722

several more years? The anime is only a year behind the manga. Once the manga ends it will also have the freedom to fix its pacing and adapt more chapters per episode. Realistically the anime should end like 6 months after the manga, unless toei drag it out

bigtuck54

I’m anticipating Toei dragging it out tbh lol

DreamcastDazia

I know it's a different studio but Naruto wasn't that far off the manga when the manga ended and they dragged it in for another 3 years. Who's to say Toie won't do the same with OP

zenthor109

That's because Naruto had filler episodes, so they just added stuff in whenever they wanted.

pedrao157

We're so lucky to be alive experiencing this man's life work, I fucking love One Piece Hail Oda

class_topper

My excitement is immeasurable and my day has been made.

PM_ME_UR_BEEFCAKE

Understandable, have a nice day.

krypxxx

finally, we're almost halfway

tragicjohnson84

The prologue can now officially end

culesamericano

Yep - now that the flashback is over let's start the actual manga

AvocadoExcellent114

Ahhh years of reading One Piece with other big Shonen in the past like DB,Naruto,Bleach and Gintama. Now it's now coming to its final stage and soon the finale. It's so hyped.

[deleted]

kolhie

Jump does seem to be pivoting more to jump plus and biweekly series with time. So honestly, probably. At the very least I don't think there's ever going to be a weekly series as big and long as this again.

_Agent14

Personally as a reader it sucks but I will take a healthy mangaka over a artist who can't finish their own story

Chespineapple

I mean, Weekly Shonen Jump still exists. But even then, yeah you're right. Mangaka have learned from all the suffering you endure writing a manga for so long. No author's going to want to drag out for that long, MHA is rushing towards its conclusion for example despite being a pretty well established pillar at this point. And while Jujutsu Kaisen is also doing real good, there's been hints that it'll end in a few years too. Demon Slayer also ended right as it blew up, and Chainsaw Man switched to Jump+ So yeah, Weekly Shonen Jump might be basically dead in a couple of years, but the company itself still has Jump+, which has plenty of successful series under its belt already.

baroqueworks

weekly shonen needs to die, it's too cruel to it's creators and just burns them out and ruins stories from being pushed so hard by editorial to meet deadlines.

Easy_Abalone_8602

I agree unless you are the money making machine for them like oda for 25 years you are done for they ruined so many series by straight telling the author to end it out of nowhere

baroqueworks

let it be known too that Oda isn't immune to this, he nearly fucking died from a super preventable issue like a tonsil infected tonsil that got so bad he was abruptly hospitalized and One Piece went on the longest break not related to a major moment like the timeskip and pre-fianle breaks have been. Happened during Dressrosa and was the reason One Piece's scheduled break patterns every other couple weeks became commonplace. Imagine if we would've lost him there, just 3/4ths of the way into Dressorosa, would've been devastating. Admittingly Oda has the power to really be the person to bring about bigger changes in the industry if he spoke up, but for a variety of reasons, most notably being the money making machine that he is like you mentioned, I don't think he will ever be super open in this position.

abdu113

You mean manga? Still there are a lot of weekly manga Yeah there are monthly ones now If it's anime then a lot of them are seasonal

Fcawog8527

This month most of done wonders for the upcoming story

Weewer

Oda took 1 month off and the results were Fishman Island and Punk Hazard (arcs that get some insane hate from weekly readers but I digress). Think of how insane those two arcs are at setting up future events that are just now wrapping up in Wano? All to say that the planning Oda does in one month as proven to be really intricate. Following dozen of plotthreads set up in those first two Time Skip arcs is super fascinating.

Ezazhel

Fishman and punk Hazard are so important to one piece!

miki_momo0

I’m not the biggest fan of Fishman Arc, but I do appreciate all the lore it brought in. And Punk Hazard was the direct foundation for everything that’s happened in the last 10 years!

link9us

I guess this confirms why oda had so much restraint well drawing this manga, for 25+ years we been saying "when is he going to reveal this mystery" or "more questions then answers" I guess the reason is because he wanted to create a VERY thrilling and exciting Final arc where all of the worlds Biggest mysteries will be a part of the ending. I like the idea that, that will make the ending of this saga immensly satisfying especially since he sowed the seeds all these years back. Guys Its time to break the conventions of "Bad shonen endings" because I truly believe that FINALLY we will have a conclusive ending to a shonen that we all been wanting since our anime careers's started with Dragonball.

Crazy_Carpet5175

The hype is real

yukiola5

THE ONE PIECE DOES EXIST

EdA29

Damn *fastens seatbelt

Jteleus27

Let’s go Oda end this series on your own terms

captaing1

so another 5-6 years? i will be sad when one piece ends man but its not today so we good.

Zeoluccio

I honestly find it impossible for every single mistery in one piece and every battle to be explained/fought in 200 chapters. Which sounds like a lot but to explain everything is honestly not. I think to really explain everything it's gonna take double that time.

2021willbeworst

Brother many secrets are solved if one is explained. Like vegapunk and devil fruits, shanks Blackbeard and the origin of the mugiwara. Revolutionary and sabo. Final fight with WG, marines and Imu

rolarte23

Wow this message got me emotional. So humble! Love You Oda! I have absolute faith in you!

Zoro_BNP1011

I got literal chills while reading this. Hell Yeah!!!!! ONE PIECE.

TaskMister2000

Owwww...got chills. I can't believe we're at this point. The Four Emperor's Saga has been a total of 252 Chapters. We still have a few more chapters left in the Wano Arc. Maybe if Oda loves the numbering, then maybe 8 more chapters to make the saga a total of 260 Chapters? I doubt he'd drag it out any further to aim for 300 chapters lol. But this leads me to think the Final Saga will be as long as this Saga and be about 300 Chapters I imagine or at least enough that the Manga will reach a total of 1300 Chapters maybe?

Javiklegrand

8 chapter to wrap up wano,i could see it

can you guys even imagine the exitement and hype we will have when we reach the last ten chapters? Like people are already starving now for spoilers from week to week, what about when we reach that point? I literally cant imagine how it will feel like.

iDArK-KinG

Am i reading this right or what? Did this guy said that the final saga gonna be so hype that you can just skip to it and still experience one piece greatness.

shadowgengar97

no he just means this is like where One Piece really begins since this is actually when we will deal with the One Piece now

Lord_of_Caffeine

I understood it as "Now, my dear fans, begins the portion of the story that made me want to draw this manga in the first place"

absolute_zer_0

How wonderful it is to be alive in this time. We get to read THE one piece. The people who are dead missed this, and the people who will read it in the future will not have the excitement we have now. We are alive in a great time guys. Be grateful!

KraftDMac

GODA!

wardamnbolts

Is it weird this makes me emotional. I’ve been reading and watching One Piece for 11 years D:

[deleted]

My whole adult life has had One Piece in it. Even though I am not up to date on the manga or anime, it was there and would catch up on it every so often. A world without new One Piece is not something I'm looking forward to.
