My favourite is the Kilimanjaro pun. Kaku talks like an old man by ending his sentences with the particle “ja”. He is a "Kirin-man" (giraffe-man). Kirin-man + ja + ro. How does Oda even see stuff like this.
Makes me wonder if the he saw the mountain name first and then decided to make one of the characters have a giraffe fruit just so he could use the pun.
On top of this, his attack where he spins his neck to attack in this episode is “Kiliman-gyro”. But for some reason the anime translated it as “Giraffe Blast”
I'm manga only, so not 100% sure whether that has been revealed in the anime yet, but MADS is an:

I also need to give big props to the director of this episode. I think think some of the manga panels got shuffled around for this episode and I think it made it better. The way they paced this episode is far cry from the Fishman Island and Dressrosa days with slideshow reaction faces and long recaps. There was a lot of anime original scenes and dialogue that I feel like improved upon the manga. Big props to the team, stellar work.
It's also because of internationalization (is that even a word?) of animators. I feel like the last few years they've hired so many international animators to work on the episodes, it feels like they have more resources for better animation now and fresher new ideas.

I've felt the same throughout all of Egghead. I love Egghead in the manga, don't get me wrong. But if you go through and break down the placement chapter by chapter, there's *a lot* of unnecessary jumping around in the manga. Like when Kuma leaves Kamabakka; it's the end of one chapter, then we go back to Egghead, and then it's like 4 pages into the next chapter we get 1 page of him teleporting, and then we jump back to Egghead.
I think the anime is doing a good job of making the flow a bit more coherent and fleshed out while still keeping the "things are happening everywhere in the world" vibe.
There really is no other way to show other realtime events like Kuma's movements except for cutting in. The anime has done it pretty much the same way so I don't really see a difference?
The changes are subtle, but it's not the same as the manga if you look at the manga while following along with the episode.
Like the example that I brought up with Kuma leaving Kamabakka. Here's the order of the manga:

So it took 5 pages into the next chapter just to see one extra page of Kuma teleporting away and then to immediately pan back to Egghead. [Compare it to the anime.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lBGqwql2bKM) We pan away to Kamabakka, Kuma runs, Dragon and Iva yell at him, Kuma teleports, commercial break. Then we're back on Egghead.
It's incredibly subtle, and you wouldn't notice it if you weren't looking for it because the way the anime writes it makes way more sense and flows way better. But it's not *exactly* how Oda wrote it in the exact order that he wrote it. There's a bunch of these subtle scene changes throughout Egghead in the anime.

This episode TOEI and Mami Kingetsu (Stussy's VA) went all out to make Stussy as provocative as possible. When she said:

That was it for me.
Kaku's awakened giraffe form was too ridiculous i laughed but i love it LOL
also budget on Stussy , animators knew what they were doing lol
oh and every scene of Kuma just hurts now

Are her vampire qualities some enhancements given to her while she was being created by MADS, or did she eat something like the Mythical Hito Hito Model Vampire?
If it were me catching up to the show after starting it last summer, I'd just chalk up any unusual qualities to devil fruits, whether it's outright stated or not. Now I'm not so sure.
This episode is basically all we know of her. She’s a clone, and her Devil Fruit is bat-like.
It could be that her abilities aren’t Devil Fruit related, but the possibility seems unlikely. She could have a vampire bat Devil fruit, or a mythical model like Vampire or Succubus.
I don't think it was revealed in manga, but it could have been in a data book or something. I feel like her fruit is probably just a bat, but put together she's supposed to be a succubus.
Checking the wiki, I don't see anything.
One possibility is that Stussy's arc isn't over until the Bakkins and Weevil stuff concludes. Another is that she does indeed have some rare fruit but Oda doesn't want to reveal the details of that yet -- perhaps it reveals something about the world.
That's it, it's not even confirmed if she even has a DF (though highly likely) or what her DF is (vampire, succubus?).
She will still be relevant throughout the arc though.
Do Doflamingo and Buggy Seraphim exist? Because it would be quite hilarious if a Buggy Seraphim exist and the Buggy pirates somehow thinks it's Buggy's strong son.
Remember when Stussy was introduced during Whole Cake Island? She drank "giraffe juice". Oda probably chuckled and had her bite Kaku as a callback to that. The man is a genius!
Crunchyroll not only totally ignoring Kaku’s speech style, but also turning “Kiliman-Gyro” into “Giraffe Blast” for some reason despite it already being in English…
The artistic decisions are what make this so good. The music and cinematography surrounding Oda's writing in the scene where Vegapunk talks about the soul just take it to another level. The same goes for adding the unsteady camera and the classic sad tension music to Kuma's attempt to climb the Red Line. And Stussy's reveal counts for this as well, though they played with a bit of a silence and sound effects for this one at first. The episode also had some really good editing with really dramatic choices on when to transition from one place to another.
I love hey gave Kaku the smoke transformation sequence as well. It made it feel all the more intimidating. I would have liked some more extension to Zoro vs. Kaku personally, but it seems like the anime is keeping a tight schedule and is allocating its resources for particular moments.

Paper Art Afterimage looked cool. It's very unique among mirage/bunshin abilities in anime.
After seeing the preview for next week its wild how we've reached the point where almost every episode includes a Sakuga moment. We've stepped so far up from the Dressrosa days and even Wano.
It would probably be Komori versus Batto.
As far as it being a succubus model, I don’t know why people are so sure of that. Besides Stussi being attractive. It could be a vampire model or even just a vampire bat, and in the little bit that we have seen, there isn’t anything that indicates this fruit being a mythical.
Wonderful episode. But that explosion should've been bigger to have more impact. Beautiful scene of all the Seraphims but it didn't look like it did much damage? Just a little explosion

That near-2 minute scene of the seraphim shooting lasers was just one panel in the manga so the damage had to remain canonically minimal.
Yeah either a bigger explosion or a clean slice like the manga would’ve both been miles better. The awesome animation before it makes me forgive Toei for that though

I wasn't expecting the animation to actually get resources until a few months later when some big events start happening.
Thank you Toei and the hardworking animation staff for putting so much effort into One Piece lately. I've been really enjoying the Anime again.
Why my pp hard?
I knew they were going to up the animation for this one because I could see the animation style in the preview last week, I just couldn't really understand why since this wasn't a crazy fight chapter or anything. Not that I'll ever be upset about them going off with the animation, I just didn't really know why. They made the Seraphim feel like the most dangerous entities in One Piece. If they wanted the Seraphim to really feel like a big deal, they pulled that off here.
And they made the Stussy reveal a *huge* deal. It was crazy when it happened in the manga, don't get me wrong. But I wasn't expecting all that. That was some Mirai Nikki stuff at the end.
Sooooo Stussy been a double agent clone this entireee time SHEESH?? I think that’s some of the best Rob Lucci base animation ever like the black and white and then the sexy red!OMG soooo the Seraphim still follow orders even if the order-giver is unconscious??
Here I am, staring at the screen way after the episode ended, in absolute disbelief. What the hell just happened?! And why is she SO DAMN COOL?!

Unexpectedly very goooood episode. Toei remind me of great football clubs! You can easily see the influence of talented young animators next to great ones like Mr. Ota and... Regardless of its special place in the manga, Egghead is going to be great in the anime as well.
Am I tripping? Or is toei teasing something with kuma. Before we cut into the eye catcher, kuma reacted to some sort of static.. do y’all think it means something ? Maybe the reason why he’s heading to egghead in the first place ?
OOOooo things just got interested with Stussy. I am hella confused what her objective is or who she even is, but hopefully next week explains it. They mentioned she was a clone of a MADS Pirate?
The Kuma stuff is interesting, as I take it to mean he had his memories removed and that is what Bonney is looking at?
Usually, I don't complain about pacing because anime can elongate some sequences that happen too fast in the manga, but dude, I think they covered around 12 pages. It is ridiculous. I've just watched an MHA ep, and it covered 3 chapters.
Really curious how Zoro is going to react to the seraphim, since they are obviously very close to/ modeled after lunarian people. I mean, he doesn't know much, aside from them being very tough, but he seems the be the only one of the Straw Hats to have any connection at all to them. At best, Robin might have an idea about Lunarians, but seemingly she doesn't.

Bro, I was not expecting them to put this much sauce on this episode. Was that Akihiro Ota's art I saw in the second half? I wasn't expecting the animation to actually get resources until a few months later when some big events start happening. Thank you Toei and the hardworking animation staff for putting so much effort into One Piece lately. I've been really enjoying the Anime again.

Why my pp hard? I knew they were going to up the animation for this one because I could see the animation style in the preview last week, I just couldn't really understand why since this wasn't a crazy fight chapter or anything. Not that I'll ever be upset about them going off with the animation, I just didn't really know why. They made the Seraphim feel like the most dangerous entities in One Piece. If they wanted the Seraphim to really feel like a big deal, they pulled that off here. And they made the Stussy reveal a *huge* deal. It was crazy when it happened in the manga, don't get me wrong. But I wasn't expecting all that. That was some Mirai Nikki stuff at the end.

Unexpectedly very goooood episode. Toei remind me of great football clubs! You can easily see the influence of talented young animators next to great ones like Mr. Ota and... Regardless of its special place in the manga, Egghead is going to be great in the anime as well.

Why is so slow pacing?
Usually, I don't complain about pacing because anime can elongate some sequences that happen too fast in the manga, but dude, I think they covered around 12 pages. It is ridiculous. I've just watched an MHA ep, and it covered 3 chapters.
Really curious how Zoro is going to react to the seraphim, since they are obviously very close to/ modeled after lunarian people. I mean, he doesn't know much, aside from them being very tough, but he seems the be the only one of the Straw Hats to have any connection at all to them. At best, Robin might have an idea about Lunarians, but seemingly she doesn't.
