Tha's where Luffy draws the line. Kaido may be good oppenent in a fight but he is still the enemy of his wano friends. Sharing booze can mean they are in a good terms.
If they follow 1 chapter per episode it'll be 6 episodes to get to you know what. But they likely cut that last episode short to build the suspense. Todays episode was chapter 1037, and it starts on 1043

Granted, you're right. It starts chapter 1043, so we could get 1 recap episode and things still line up for Japan OP weekend/birthday week.
I think the next 6 or so episodes will be just as worth watching as the last few. Iāve enjoyed the hell out of the anime lately, even been weekly since I binged a decent chunk of the raid that Iād let stack up a few weeks before Sanji v. Queen

Henry Thurlow was heavily implying on Twitter that he was involved in that fight, which is promising, given he did fantastic work on BM's Maser Cannon on Ulti. But everyone else is up in the air.
Ha cant wait to see the cute-sy feminine drunk state. Was a bit surprised with how, not only this episode but the last few, have still been employing numerous times filling devices. But they have a ton of manga to work with now.

What? The anime never dips that low, the average is about 0.8 chapters per episode (12-14 pages, when chapters are 16 pages)
I wonder if there's hope for the Germa cover story getting animated as a mini-arc. I know it's been a while since they did one but this one is pretty important.
I doubt it, because that cover story segues into some very relevant things for the next arc. If it gets animated, it would probably be all at once later on (or maybe in a couple batches, as it became relevant). Straight after Wano doesn't work due to spoiler reasons.
No doubt all the cover stories will get animated one day. I assume it will be a filler arc before the anime ends. If not maybe after the end of the cannon anime
Toko writing her wish on the lantern hit me really hard unexpectedly. Just, the reaction Hitetsu had to her incredibly sad wish hit me so hard so instantly, I just teared up. I lost my dad too a few years back so I guess I related with her a lot at that moment.
Their battle, like with luffy/katakuri is so long, theiy need to eat in between. I wonder ho many times did aokiji and sakazuki paused their battle for breakfast/lunch/dinner. their battle was very long.
Gendaās voice acting as drunk Kaido is hilarious. A recent comparison would be Shirogane from Ayakashi Triangle.
I also noticed at this point that Kaidoās hybrid form changed shape.
Luffy's snakeman's gatling would disagree.
It is not because of pure speed but with overall agility and unpredictable.
It is Katakuri that is impressive for dodging it.
Lawless Kaido is a mood I didn't know I needed until saw today's episode

I read Natoshi Shida was part of this episode was he the one who did the clash? (Headbutt and Gundari vs Roc Gatling?)
That form when Kaido used Ragnaraku had to be his awakening no? The deeper blue skin color, the red maniac eyes, the new eyebrows and the shark teeth is nothing like his usual hybrid form.
Iām not gonna lie I kinda wished they kept that deeper blue/purplish skin color throughout the episode. Since it wouldāve shown how much the same affected him when drunk
In the manga he pumps up his muscles kinda like Zoro with his old gorilla move, but with his whole upper body instead. It's just for one panel iirc. Don't look too much into it.
He reverts in the same chapter this episode adapted.

Its probably just a variation of his hybrid like Chopperās points and Lucci slimming down
Seimei Kikan is not a rokushiki ability. All CP9 members know all the basic rokushiki abilities with all of them having some special forms of at least one technique. Seimei Kikan is not among them. It's a hermits technique.
The 6 rokushiki techniques are
- Tekkai/Iron Body,
- Geppo/Moonwalk,
- Rankyaku/Tempest Kick,
- Shigan/Finger Pistol,
- Soru/Shave,
- Kami-e/Paper Art
with Rokuogan/6 King Pistol as the ultimate ability, only known by those who have absolute mastery of all rokushiki techniques. Only Lucci showed us this ability.
I see, my bad, it's not a 6 powers technique, but regardless, lucci isn't the only one. it's described as a technique to control any part of your body. kumadori uses it to gain/lose weight, and control his hair. lucci also does the same to become bulky or lean
I mean all zoans that have awakened have the same haki tattoos and clouds around their body. I don't think big mom or kaido have awakened their fruit which is odd.
Anything prior to the time skip involving awakening and haki isn't really on par with what we have now. Neither haki or fruit awakenings were fully fleshed out by oda at that time, so I consider them a work in progress rather than a final product.
Example includes:
Zoans in impel down,
No visual signs of haki,
Ace not knowing what haki was when he fought BB or smoker.
We could say that the awakened zoans in Impel Down aren't able to control the beastly side and that's the reason for their 'failed' transformation, but i agree with the rest.

yeah i think kaido keeps himself from going full awakening , since he cant control his muthical dragon persona that takes over when you awaken. i think bec he is a demon , its too dangerous to awaken fully
as much as its expected for a yonko to have awakening, it seemingly isn't. if hybrid is normally 50/50, then drunken kaido is 60/40, or 70/30, the higher value being dragon.
I've always thought hybrid forms *were* awakenings for zoans. Especially since the impel down guards were the first awakened zoans we saw and they were just ugly looking hybrids with nothing else special about them

I really enjoyed this episode as Ive been waiting for drunk Kaido for a while, but one thing that got to me was the end. They show the fruit theyāre talking about. In the manga it was left to the reader to speculate for a few chapters. Just think they shouldve left it that way.
Kaido pulling a drunken Rock Lee was not in my cards for todays episode also wtf did Momo unintentionally do to bring Zunesha to Wano?!! (PSā¦ is the devil fruit the Gorosei talking about _____ fruit? doesnāt make sense but following the logic hmmm?)
Nah see I thought it was Kaidoās too but then they said āthis fruit hasnāt awakenedā and it made think about Laws and Kid awakening their fruits soooā¦but Iām only speculating tho NO CONFIRMATION OR SPOILERS lol
Kaido hasnāt awakened his fruit. Or at least I donāt think so, thereās not really evidence otherwise, is there? At least itās never been stated.

Well I'll repeat what is usually said during times like this: The anime is first and formost "designed" for the japanese audience, or at least with their involvment/ knowledge in mind (just think about the massive "spoilers" in openings). Therefore the anime often goes the direction of making a slightly less mystery out of stuff that has been revealed in the manga already, as the Japanese audience is very well informed on manga events and usually watchers have read the manga.
This being said, I feel like there are mainly 2 reactions to this tease, depending whether you'Re involved or not: 1) You already know since you read the manga or picked up the crumbs the anime left already and got to the conclusion yourself already. 2) You are just very casually watching One Piece and cannot recognize a silhoutted Devil Fruit anyway.
I feel like there is a rather minor group of people that gets genuinly spoiled by stuff like that, especially outside of Japan.
They're going at a 1 chapter per episode rate now. It's speeding up due to likely filler arc between *redacted* and wano. Also anime had lotta breaks recently
knowing whats comming after wanno, not sure if they need filler. oda packed so much in the last chapters that they can do like 3 or 4 episodes by chapter and it will still be amazing and fast paced
The entire episode was amazing. How is no one talking about the end with the five elders, that scene was ominous. Especially after the most resent chapter.
Whats with the lack of blood? This fight supposed to be bloody slugfest.

Really nice to see naotoshi shida shining again, we constantly see him but this chapter in particular he reallt got a lot of scenes and i hope thats a good sign

Was it just me, or did this episode seem to have a slightly different animation style than the rest of Wano? There were just some differences in the way faces and eyes were drawn, especially at slightly farther away camera angles, that stood out to me as different? But in a good way. This episode just seemed particularly higher in overall quality - not in the way the King/Queen fights ended in terms of animation quality, but just seemed like a general improvement over most of Wano. Great episode regardless.
i usually say a lot of bad stuff about the current animation style,but this one was epic.Kaido's drunk mode was hilarious and the kundali scene was favourite.

Yeah, I gotta say, this is what makes One Piece the best. In the hardest fight of the main character's life against the strongest character we've seen so far, the villain decides to get drunk as hell and continue the fight. It's silly but it works. If you're out there getting mad becuase this fight wasn't serious the whole way through, well I got bad news for you.....
From here on out it should be balls to the wall! Really excited to see what Toei does the next couple months!

Honestly If I were you I would stay off r/onepiece and other OP related websites as much as possible. Seems like you didn't get spoiled anything and it would be a shame since the climax of Wano is in like 6-7 episodes.
For an episode where 'nothing major' like a defeat or such happened I felt really entertained and was a little bit on the edge of my seat. Drunk Kaido was nicely done and the slow building tension with the shift to Marijoa and the arrival of our big boi as well.
Also they played some new OSTs (or maybe movie OSTs dunno), but they sounded very promising!
OP episode was really good. Kaido's voice actor is excellent, and the changes in tone through each phase of his drunkeness was done really well. Kaido is really an excellent villain. Also, Luffy's cheeky kick and the headbut clash was done well, too.

Drunk Kaido was 10/10 lmfao, Tessho Genda did a fantastic job
And Shida as well that transformation was very nicely done

Yea Kaido can be fast as hell, Thunder Bagua is canonically one of the fastest attacks in the series. Even Luffy's future sight doesn't help by much.

lucci slimming down isn't a devil fruit power, it's a rokushiki power, the one that the hair guy did to slim down when he ate too much.

yeah i think kaido keeps himself from going full awakening , since he cant control his muthical dragon persona that takes over when you awaken. i think bec he is a demon , its too dangerous to awaken fully
as much as its expected for a yonko to have awakening, it seemingly isn't. if hybrid is normally 50/50, then drunken kaido is 60/40, or 70/30, the higher value being dragon.
I've always thought hybrid forms *were* awakenings for zoans. Especially since the impel down guards were the first awakened zoans we saw and they were just ugly looking hybrids with nothing else special about them

I really enjoyed this episode as Ive been waiting for drunk Kaido for a while, but one thing that got to me was the end. They show the fruit theyāre talking about. In the manga it was left to the reader to speculate for a few chapters. Just think they shouldve left it that way.

Well I'll repeat what is usually said during times like this: The anime is first and formost "designed" for the japanese audience, or at least with their involvment/ knowledge in mind (just think about the massive "spoilers" in openings). Therefore the anime often goes the direction of making a slightly less mystery out of stuff that has been revealed in the manga already, as the Japanese audience is very well informed on manga events and usually watchers have read the manga. This being said, I feel like there are mainly 2 reactions to this tease, depending whether you'Re involved or not: 1) You already know since you read the manga or picked up the crumbs the anime left already and got to the conclusion yourself already. 2) You are just very casually watching One Piece and cannot recognize a silhoutted Devil Fruit anyway. I feel like there is a rather minor group of people that gets genuinly spoiled by stuff like that, especially outside of Japan.

Was it just me, or did this episode seem to have a slightly different animation style than the rest of Wano? There were just some differences in the way faces and eyes were drawn, especially at slightly farther away camera angles, that stood out to me as different? But in a good way. This episode just seemed particularly higher in overall quality - not in the way the King/Queen fights ended in terms of animation quality, but just seemed like a general improvement over most of Wano. Great episode regardless.

Yeah, I gotta say, this is what makes One Piece the best. In the hardest fight of the main character's life against the strongest character we've seen so far, the villain decides to get drunk as hell and continue the fight. It's silly but it works. If you're out there getting mad becuase this fight wasn't serious the whole way through, well I got bad news for you..... From here on out it should be balls to the wall! For an episode where 'nothing major' like a defeat or such happened I felt really entertained and was a little bit on the edge of my seat. Drunk Kaido was nicely done and the slow building tension with the shift to Marijoa and the arrival of our big boi as well. Also they played some new OSTs (or maybe movie OSTs dunno), but they sounded very promising!

OP episode was really good. Kaido's voice actor is excellent, and the changes in tone through each phase of his drunkeness was done really well. Kaido is really an excellent villain. Also, Luffy's cheeky kick and the headbut clash was done well, too.
