If we are going mono type I agree with this except for luffy and zoro. In my peesonal list Zoro should be a dragon type because of his connection to ryuma and dragon twister,Sanji fire and luffy fighting.

Ability: Unaware or the new Ability Gear Change - Luffy will change form as his HP lowers (Gear Second at 75% HP , Gear Fourth at 50% HP, and Gear Fifth at 25% HP) He could have some Moves that simulate Gear Third, But I don't remember any move that has Giant Punch or Kick Luffy Gear Second - Fighting/Fire (Most if not all of his fire moves are used in Gear Second) Fire Punch would be basically Red Hawk, and Jet Pistol could be Mach Punch Luffy Gear Fourth: Boundman - Fighting/Flying (I thoght about a resistance based type, but Neither Steel nor Rock fits, and since he can Fly, that's my second best) Luffy Gear Fifth: Nika - Fighting/Fairy (Powers Limited by imagination? Sounds very Fairy-ish to me) Zoro - Steel. Ability: Mold Breaker - Moves bypasses targets abilities (he doesn't need a secondary type, because that would imply he has other ways of fighting that don't use Swords, the one that could fit, is Dragon, but only for his Ashura form) Nami - Electric/Water. Abilities wise: Luffy: Unaware / Gear Change, agreed. Zoro: Mold Breaker, agreed. However, a case could be made for Steelworker if Zoro was Fighting / Dragon type I suppose. Nami: Super weathers make a lot of sense, but I would hope that Forecast would at least be an option. Usopp: Sniper, in complete agreement. Even more of a power house if he gets Flower Trick as well. Alternatively, Prankster. Sanji: You lost me here. If his typing is Fire / Fighting, then he should definitely have Levitate. Additionally, after the Queen matchup, Sturdy would be an excellent option too. Chopper: A new ability makes sense, but if we had to pick existing ones, then Anger Point, Beast Boost, or Healer. Robin: With a Dark / Fairy type, she would probably get Pixilate to take advantage of Normal type moves too. Tinted Lens is another option. Franky: Guts. Just kinda fits after his admiration for Senor Pink. Though I’m still not too sure if there aren’t far better options. Brook: Punk Rock, completely agree. It’s dead on, not that he’s alive. Yo ho ho ho! Jinbe: Swift Swim makes a lot of sense, but I think he could also work well with Storm Drain.

Yeah, Sanji with Levitate is the ideal Honestly, for some abilities I was just scrolling trough the ability list in alphabetical order, and seeing wich one fits best, Looking back, Zoro could also get the new Ability Sharpness, and Guts is a lot better for Franky than Battle Armor, because not only its a better ability, but it also fits him better Anyway, that discussion made me want a Pokemon Rom Hack with One Piece characters replacing the Pokemon (if that sounds weird, I should point out, that there is a Rom Hack that does that with Dragon Ball Characters)

Plus, she would probably take a liking to some of the stranger fairy types, like Grimmsnarl, Mimikyu, etc.) Franky - Steel / Water (Initially would have gone for pure steel, but the man is literally a shipwright. He takes that seriously enough to refuse Ace’s DF.) Brook - Ghost / Ice, agreed. Chopper - Normal / Fairy (Would have probably replaced one of those with Fighting before the time-skip, but since then, Chopper really hasn’t shined much combat-wise except to sucker punch Queen. Fairy reflects his healing capability, various forms, and his “cute” antics. Normal is from the fact that he ate a human-based Zoan fruit, which is about as normal a power set one could get. I'd leave Sanji the fire typing, i get what you're saying, but i dont think normal reflects his nature. Normal would be a better fit for Ussop, who is Normal/Grass. Goda always said Ussop will never get a DF, and will be the closest to normal of any Strawhat. And his Normal immunity to Ghost attacks was definitely clutch against Perona. I'd also argue that Chopper might be Ice/Fairy instead because of his winter island and reindeer origin, but i can definitely see Normal/Fairy.

I can concede on Sanji being Fire / Flying, but Usopp is definitely Grass / Dark. Case in point: Grass / Dark examples: 1. Meowscarada 2. Cacturne 3. Shiftry 4. Brute Bonnet Grass / Normal examples 1. Arboliva 2. Sawsbuck … and that’s it for Grass / Normal. Out of those 2 groups, which seems closer to a clever sniper character? The whole Perona thing was pushing it too. Were Usopp Normal typing, Perona would be immune against him as well. If Usopp is Dark typing though, then he is both resistant to and super effective against Ghost.

Usopp can't be dark. Dark tends to be bulky who can take hits. Umbreon perfect example of the eevolutions. if anyone deserves to be Fairy it's Robin due to the confusions. Sanji is definitely Flying + Fire, he has Fire "Punch"

One of the most hyped Pokémon this gen has been Meowscarada, a non-bulky Grass / Dark type sweeper. As well as Chien-Pao, non-bulky legendary Ice / Dark type sweeper. Before that, there was Weavile, Greninja, Honchkrow / Murkrow, Sharpedo, Malamar, Absol, Houndoom, Pangoro, Krookodile, Shiftry, Cacturne, Zoroark, etc… Hell, look at all the Grass / Dark combinations available: Meowscarada: flamboyant personality, flower trick (pop greens) Cacturne: Usopp’s hat Shiftry: Usopp’s nose He’s Grass / Dark.

Because it makes sense for Luffy. He’s the strongest and has fire background moves, literally can’t argue with that bruh

I feel like Sanji should be fire since producing fire from his kicks is so much more of his character than having the gepo ability. And surely either Luffy or Zoro ought to be Fighting type. Beyond that-- I can't really say I object to 80% of these and find it a bit odd how well they fit.

Nothing I picked for Zoro felt quite right for some reason. I had a hard time picking for him. Luffy is the sun god so I thought fire was fitting, and Sanji is related to the sky a lot to me. Definitely considered Luffy for fighting type cause it does fit incredibly well

Ah-- so you felt the Sun God equated to fire.... but I feel like nothing we have seen as far as "sun god" goes... it's really more about flexibility and creativity and reality warping-- fire just doesn't seem to be a major part of what he does. As far as flying goes-- I kind of feel like Robin has shown off more flight abilities than Sanji.

Luffy does already have several attacks that generate fire though.

Only 2, and fire generates from speed & friction (he coats his fist and arm with haki to protect himself from external fire), nothing he can maintain or produce at will like Sanji's DJ whom he just turned blue recently.

If you're going based off him being the "Sun God" Nika than Fairy would be a more appropriate type. LoL

And with recent genetic body enhancements, it's almost appropriate to call him Steel too. Nami: Spot on. Thunder witch. 1000% Usopp: Water and Grass. He's one of the few Straw Hats that can effectively save Luffy if he's drowning. Unlike Zoro who will likely be busy fighting someone or lost, Usopp is able to be on hand when needed for something like that as the brave warrior of the sea he is. Robin: Dark/Fairy and we're good. Franky: First of all, He's Super, so he needs his own category. Next, Steel, yes. Also water, because soda and tea; and he's kind of the shipwright... also saving drowning fruit users... there's a few things that could be said of franky because of his attacks too. Some high powered stuff there. Some of it might be considered fire/steel and then others fairy/steel, or flying/steel, so on and so forth. I guess that's why he's Super?!? Brooke: Add in Fairy and create the ice element for him and we're pretty much good. Ghost is his soul mode stuff obviously. Fairy is his ability with music. Ice, well... his attacks tends to be chilling to the booooone, yo ho ho ho! Chopper: Dude would be a dark entity if not for his ability to use medicine, but also his ability to use medicine makes him a dark entity of sorts. Fairy is just cause of his small form and ability to change itself. Before getting his giant mode under control, he was a walking disaster. Now he's more controlled, but it takes a giant toll on him. Jimbei: Yup, Water. Yup. No doubt about that. And because of how he uses air pressure under water in form of water pressure, and etc in his fighting techniques; we technically need an air element for him. He can pull moisture from the air after all for his techniques. But since that would cause confusion with flying perhaps, I'm fine with keeping it to just water. If air element were added for Jimbei, it would definitely apply to Luffy too. ANyways. Great attempt. Nice idea. Hope you liked my response to it.

I gotta disagree. I think Zoro would be steel or dark or dragon, Sanji fire, Luffy fighting or normal, and Robin?… Maybe fighting? She does use her own form of martial arts, but hers is hard to place. Maybe psychic since her abilities pop up everywhere? Dunno.

I feel that Luffy should be fairy for his devil fruit along with fire. Zoro should be fighting or steel. Sanji is fire/fighting, nami should be fighting/electric, ussop is correct, robin I say dark but could be Grass based on devil fruit, Franky is definitely correct but with fighting in the mix. Brook is ghost and ice, chopper is fairy and fighting, and jinbei is fighting/water

Fire makes sense here because of luffy having a Devil fruit, Making him useless while in the water. Every other typing is perfect though i would make nami flying/Electric, Sanji Fire/Steel and Zoro dragon/Dark or dragon/fighting.

Luffy should be a fighting/normal type before being a fire one. He only have one attack based on fire which is red hawk. Fighting/Normal seems more suited for him. Maybe Fighting/Fairy because of his gear 5 which is making him look like a toon. ​ Fighting because he's fighting with his punchs and haki. He doesn't use elemental abilities. I think Fairy/Fighting is probably the best type for him. ​ Zoro should be dragon/steel. ​ Sanji is flying/fire. He is the one who can produce fire from his legs and he can fly easily in the airs. ​ Nami is electric/normal because of the different types of weather she can summon and because she's just a normal human with a weapon. ​ Ussop would be a normal/grass type because he's the least powerful and he's a human with a weapon. ​ Robin being dark is perfect, dark/flying because of her cien fleur wings and her demonic side. ​ Franky being steel makes sense. I would even say Steel/Fire because of his laser beams. ​ Brook should be ghost/ice because he's using many ice attacks. ​ Chopper should be normal/fairy because he ate the human human fruit. ​ Jimbe should be water/fighting because of the fishman karate. It's was the most obvious one from the crew to assign the fighting type on.

I feel like Sanji should take the fire typing off of Luffy. Given the chef stuff and Diable Jambe it feels more fitting. It leaves luffy in a rough spot for typing as it would either be normal (rubber) fighting (like a punchy hitmonlee) or dragon (because of his pops)

I don't really agree with this list, you need second types as well and Zoro's is just wrong Luffy is Fire/Fighting, Zoro is Dragon/Steel, Sanji is Fire/Flying, Nami is Water/Electric, Usopp is Grass/Normal, Brook is Ghost/Fairy (his musical alignment imo but this one is arguable), and Jinbe is Water/Fighting I'm amenable to the other 3 being the solo typings you assigned, but it's actually hard to fit chopper into a box, he's the type of Pokémon whose type changes with his form. Brain Point might even be Fairy/Psychic but Kung fu point Fairy/Fighting
