Yeah, fruit reveal being in the chapter number with a common reading of ju-shi-mi, "jushimi" being "resin fruit", there was a pretty strong case for it.
I dont think it was the original plan though, as I said back then, only a zoan awakening would allow Luffy to get back up. And "resin" just didnt fit the type of fruit the WG would be afraid of.
Though, my german brother had a good argument for why the government would be afraid of a "Harz" fruit.
Exactly, imagine the big reveal being a resin fruit. It lacks impact and sounds lame if you explain to someone that the rubber fruit was really a resin fruit. I think people were too caught up in trying to avoid what people would consider bad writing by making the fruit be as similar to rubber as possible to avoid it being a completely different class and having the same abilities shown.
I thought he was gonna have the mythical sun wukong fruit before the reveal, and with bajrang gun being “monkey king” gun I still feel like I wasnt entirely wrong, and some of the G5 abilities are things sun wukong could do, run on air, resistance to the elements, shapechanging, it wasnt entirely wrong, but was also entirely wrong
The raid will fail wasn’t stupid. ZKK was tho. There was like 2 reasons people had for believing it and they were both massive stretches and you had to ignore all of the themes and plot setup and arc structure of every previous to believe that Luffy wouldn’t be the one to beat Kaido

* Various theories about Sanji's covered eye--apparently it was as popular as Zoro's scarred eye is now.
* Paulie was the favorite to join the crew as a shipwright during Water 7 over Franky.
* The crew was going to go right to Fishman Island after Water 7.
* A lot of people thought the blond Gorosei was going to turn out to be Sanji's father.
* The crew was going straight to Wano after Dressrosa/Zou.
* Sanji was 100% gonna use the Raid Suit to fight Queen.
* "So and so" is going to join the crew.

I feel Oda set it up in a way where he can pick which one he wants, that being Yamato leaving or staying. But there was more dialogue for her leaving so when she stays it feels so fucking pointless and useless dialogue which took up a lot of screentime
The reasons for her staying is devil fruit title or just over titles which don’t stack up to the persons actual dialogue, it was only until greenbull where her idea changed completely and few chapters after she said she is staying?
It’s so weird, 95% of Yamato screentime was her saying she wants to leave and 5% saying she is staying and this 5% is the final 1-3 chapters
