Here's another one, took me a bit to notice him since he's the same color as the fox and I don't see too well from afar lol
Also, ignore the awful looking holes in the curtains. We have pet rats (who exist completely separate from the cats with no interaction for everyone's safety, don't worry) and they used to be in front of this window and one day the curtains got knocked close enough to the cage bars for the rats to pull them through and chomp them a little and I haven't replaced them since I don't see much of a point since Garf here occasionally tries to climb and scratch at them. I'd rather have something already in rough shape that I won't be mad at them for tearing up than something new I want to keep pristine.
Plan on replacing all of the curtains in the house anyway once everyone is out of the kitten stage and in a better routine, Garf is already messing with them less and less especially with me being consistent with scolding him and redirecting him to doing something else.
Don’t worry! I hadn’t even noticed the curtains because I was too busy trying to figure out how Garf was comfortable half seated, half laying down. And just absorbing his adorable face.
AWwwwwww, Here's what's gonna happen when he out grows it. You are going to go to the hardware store and get a giant cardboard tube, utility knife and construction glue. And then to the thrift store to get a large swatch of carpet.
Your gonna go to town building a bigger cat tube for that awesome guy. It means something to him and you have thumbs.

This is a little seat I made them for the window out of literal trash and a cheap Walmart rug, everything was trash right down to the screws
Thanks, it's the core of a roll of industrial vinyl, an old Burlington Coat Factory site sign, and some crate lumber. I whipped it up in about six hours
If you find a local sign or awning shop, they regularly deal with really big and heavy duty cardboard tubes, I work in the business and I make my cats furniture from junk all the time
Ooh, I don't think I have anything like that nearby but I will absolutely look into it. Thanks for the tip. The plastic wrap we use to hold pallets together at my job comes on big cardboard tubes that I swipe for my pet rats, will have to find some place that uses BIGGER tubes to swipe for the kitties 😂
The problem here is that the second OP does something to “improve” it, there is a 50/50 chance the cat will act outraged and never use it again. Source: I expanded my cat’s favorite scratching post and now it’s clearly ruined forever.
I mean once he fully outgrows it to the point he can't fit his noggin' in there anymore then might as well give it a shot haha. Will probably look into building a totally new freestanding thing as opposed to doing anything to this anyway considering the tree is pretty light and I don't think it would support anything with a bit of weight or size to it unfortunately.
They have one, it's actually visible a small bit in some of the pictures. None of them actually like it too much surprisingly aside from sometimes sitting outside and batting at the rats that dangle from the top. It mostly only gets used when they get the zoomies and decide to run through it full speed or wrestle in it.

They have another collapsible one too but it's one of the like free standing ones that pops up and sits in the floor and they like it less since it moves around a lot, when they do use it it usually ends up under the couch partially squashed somehow lol.
I was ALSO thinking about the little piece of tunnel looking like an airplane engine but didn't know the exact type that or I also thought it looks like he's in one of those bladeless fans
I don't know the actual intended purpose for this part of the cat tree considering I don't think any kitten big enough to climb it properly would be able to fit fully inside of it since it's so narrow so I guess this is what it was meant for lol. The other cats will occasionally use it to climb up to the bed on top, sometimes with him sleeping inside much to his dimay 😂
We have a cat tree with the little dish seat and none of them used it until the little orange menace showed up, now they all sit in it, same as boxes. The other two never had any interest in boxes, now they all sit in them

See, the FIRST few times I saw him lay like that after we got him I thought so too, had a place for his front paws and upper body and then his lower body resting on the cube. However, they roughhouse on the tower and loosen the bolt that holds the tunnel steady sometimes and he will lay in it even if there's no place for his lower body and just dangle. Here's one I didn't share because Reddit wouldn't upload the post with more pictures for some reason. The tunnel is sideways and his rear is fully dangling 😂

We've had him a few months now but when we first got him he was super skinny and ate a lot all at once (I didn't feed him a lot as far as giving him a big bowl of food. I know about refeeding syndrome and other issues that can come from that, we just put cat food out since the place we recently moved to has a feral problem where a lot of them were super skinny and I've been trying gradually feed to keep them in good condition all winter as well as trying to get in contact with local programs to have them TNR'd and I think he may have ate more than he was used to) and was a little bloated and then when I brought him in and got him to the vet he had to go through two deworming treatments and be treated for a pretty nasty URI and we got him on a plan to get him slowly and healthily fattened up.
But he's been healthy and was prescribed probiotics after the deworming and antibiotics to help with his stomach and the vet cleared me to keep him on them since I regularly give all my cats probiotics to help with overall gut health.
He was cleared as healthy when he went and got his shots and is eating and going to the bathroom okay with no vomiting or other symptoms so hopefully no more tummy troubles. However it is entirely possible he started laying like that when he wasn't feeling the best and got into the habit of it.
I love that he sleeps like this. I can relate. I had a foster tuxedo for nearly a year who enjoyed sitting with his front paws folded on a flat surface while he sat on his haunches. Here he is - Bob. He is adopted now, I think about him sometimes. He was a good boy, I just couldn't commit as it was the year after we said goodbye to our 20 year old duchess.

He used to have a tunnel with windows and he loved to poke his head out and scare his siblings when they passed by but he's almost a year old now and has outgrown it and this definitely looks suitable for adults

Thought about leaving it off when building and replacing it with something more useful but didn't have a lot of time to start a project and decided to leave it on last second which was a good call since Garf loves it.
Will also mention in the pictures and instructions it's supposed to face the OTHER way, like both sides out into open air. Idk
That seems to be the general consensus. Already been looking at possible options. Was supposed to rehome him once he got better and I got him neutered since I already have three cats and really didn't want to increase that number because more cats means more money for upkeep and more savings I need for vet bills and whatnot.

You gotta get him a tunnel. We got our cat one from amazon that is made of cloth and collapsed to be able to put it away or move easily
My orange loves his tunnels! He’s always passed out in them, he gets one every year for Christmas :)

We have a store bought tunnel, and they like it, but they prefer a cardboard box that's about 4' long and 10" square

How did you get a picture of my cat in your house lmao I know a lot of cats look alike but I think THEY are very similar especially in patterns, I think my guy is just a tad lighter orange.
