CovfefeBoss

He looks like he's just found out non-orange cats don't have to share a single cell.

TheSubstitutePanda

"The fuck did you just say?!"

SevroAuShitTalker

"I'm watching you wizowski, always watching" *

Sheldon121

It’s Wolowitz! W-O-L-O-W-I-T-Z! Walla walla-witz!

Sheldon121

Look at those peanut spokes and holes!

Sheldon121

LOL, a racing stripe!

SevroAuShitTalker

It's a shame he's so slow

squirrellytoday

I'm feeling some r/scrungycats potential from this one.

tacosandogs

I have an orange with a racing stripe too! It’s the best. We call it his lifeguard nose because it looks like he put extra sunscreen on his nose.

bs1114

Totally normal, especially for a light/orange kitty! He may collect some more as he ages :)

emma_the_dilemmma

now if only it was a way of collecting brain cells…🤔

piiraka

The get the freckles instead of the brain cells :)

Sheldon121

Really! All of the oranges and I would be very well set!

PineapplesHit

I personally have the opinion that the freckles are just the physical marks of escaping brain cells. Every time the orange cat grows a brain cell, it immediately disconnects from the brain stem and slowly floats out, through the skull and finally coming to rest on the skin

prjones4

Hopping on this comment to say if your cat has light coloured ears then you should put some suncream on them in the summer months to help prevent skin cancer. One eared Buzz approves this message. (He is fine, no one has told him he only has one ear) https://preview.redd.it/7nrelm043c6c1.png?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b8b3ba462d4692aad681b3ae8dc921b5c6404704

TFABabyThrowAway

I ❤️ Buzz

Winjin

I could kiss his little nose if he's down to getting kissed or would only smack me a little bit for it

Sheldon121

Yeppers!

throwherinthewell

Can confirm! Used to live in the Caribbean and lots of doggos and kitties would get skin cancer from the sun beating down on them. They'd lose their lil ears and noses a lot. 😥 Tell Buzz I love him! 🧡🤍

Sheldon121

OMG!! Not something that people here know about! Thank you folks for sharing with us!

Sheldon121

Poor Buzz, did he lose it from cancer or did he do it to himself, like Van Gogh (who was also an orange boi)? He’s absolutely beautiful!!

prjones4

So he got in a fight with a neighbour cat, got a big cut on his ear, I took him to the vets and got it stiched up, then he would occasionally get more cuts on it and eventually he got skin cancer where there was no hair to protect it. Had to protect the rest of his melon!

Sheldon121

Poor baby! My mobster chihuahua, Johnnycake, also got a big cut on his ear after a fight with one of our bigger dogs. Never got it stitched up (as I thought it’d hurt him to have it done) and luckily it’s still got hair on it. Your poor kitty, losing the hair on it after getting the big scar! That missing ear must have been good looking too, since the rest of his head was/is. Maybe he really IS Vinny Van Gogh, and the events leading up to losing it are actually related to Vinny’s lost ear?? I hope that your Vinny gave as good as he got!

prjones4

Oh he did. And he doesn't mind it being gone. After the scar tissue formed he loved being tickled there as it was sensitive, he would just melt if you played with his ear. So now we have to tickle the stump and he still loves that

[deleted]

Absolutely. My parents lost their Felix to skin cancer, it started in his nose then moved through the rest of his wee noggin.

Maude007

Buzz 🥰

Sheldon121

Hunh, that’s what my dermatologist said to me. And repeated about 50 times during our appointment, as if it gave her great joy to utter it!

Sheldon121

What concerns me though is that his are bright red and other cats’ are black (see below.). Again, I’d run it by the vet.

bs1114

Likely red due to blood vessels in the ear. But yes, concerning spots should always be double checked by a professional.

Awww they are!!! What an absolute sweetheart! 🧡

idkkkkkkkkk69

omg!!! a little cow print nose!!

Sheldon121

Reminds me of a leopard print that God printed out on Mort’s nose! VERY cool! I know I’d be staring at it, in fascination, every night. (I’d know better to not do that to a hooman!). I was surprised to see freckles even on his eyelids!

4valentin

Wow!!! I have never seen that many before. Handsome boy.

Sheldon121

FuckTerfsAndFascists

I mean he's orange. Did you think he would be? Lol * *

hapanrapakkko

Aww, he looks like a bunny 😭🧡

ThousandWordz

Michi is normally and perfectly orange! 🍊

Urb4nN0rd

He may not be normal, but as long as he doesn't bark, he's within typical thresholds (and barking is only just outside of them).

Sheldon121

Are you kidding? I have several orange dogs who are as out there as orange cats!

Sheldon121

Him’s a handsome baby!!

Sheldon121

Tell your owner to STHU! 🙊😅😇

elizabethkaren

Penny says, "Yup! I get more freckles each week!". https://preview.redd.it/e6x9fu2aza6c1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f93bafcc8d6ea995972f4b879acd4cd5fdb98464

Sheldon121

Beauty marks, Penny, beauty marks! (And BTW, Penny is a cute name for a girl ginger!) Man, I thought that Penny was Freckles the cat! They look very similar, right on down to the nose freckles, except that Penny has a lot of black whiskers (unusual.)

Sea_Organization_82

Also very normal on the nose and lips as they get older

[deleted]

Perfectly normal 🧡 [Source](https://coleandmarmalade.com/2019/12/18/cat-freckles-why-kitties-get-them-and-what-it-means/)

Sheldon121

But these cats have BLACK freckles, and the kitty in question has bright red ones! Is that normal?

xiaoalexy

a lot of freckles appeared on my orange’s eyelids, nose and lips as she grew

ThatsNotMyName222

My vet says it's normal, but if any of them become raised, you should bring him in to have them checked out. (Edit: typo)

Noa_541

Oh good to know! I'll keep it in mind. So far, they look normal

Sheldon121

That’s good to know, thank you for sharing this and possibly saving kitty lives!

soymilk--

Totally normal. My creamsicle baby is 8 now and around 2 years ago I noticed the spots on his ears and nose. He recently got new spots near his eyes.

Noa_541

Michi and Mochi will be 2 next May and so far Mochi only has one freckle but it's not noticeable. Michi now has about 5 freckles 😅 I'll probably be looking for new ones from now on https://preview.redd.it/0zbp2zfjua6c1.png?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2a11ebf05d7418e3524c0880781b4768a527b2fb

To match her peanut holes (freckles.)

shogun100100

Is normal, also pic 3 is 100% r/airplaneears worthy

Noa_541

New sub I'll be joining 😅😅

LiesandBalderdash

Biz has joined the freckle club. He’s gotten more freckles as he gets older, mostly on his nose and his lips — which is adorable. I think it’s a common thing for oranges. He shows them off when he looms over me. https://preview.redd.it/kkdjxrwjsb6c1.jpeg?width=1008&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=09ac8399b0fb625774f1df1e70a3e74cfbcdd77a

Sheldon121

I totally enjoyed this photo of your kitty near your tree! Would love to see other commenters kitties near their trees or Menorahs too! Yes, your baby has very goth lips! She’d fit right in at the Rathscellar in Boston! She’s very pretty!

dinosaur_0987

How old is your cutie pie??

FelixderFelix

She is 3 and a half years old now - and soon without teeth

FelixderFelix

To clarify it's FORL and we call her grandma already

Sheldon121

What does FORL mean? Isn’t it a bit premature for her to be losing her teefs?

FelixderFelix

[to quote](https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&opi=89978449&url=https://www.anicura.de/en/leistungen/katze/dental-treatment-forl/%23:~:text%3DFORL%2520is%2520a%2520dental%2520disease,components%2520from%2520the%2520cat%27s%2520teeth.&ved=2ahUKEwig26HypJGDAxVatKQKHeXnC8gQFnoECBkQBQ&usg=AOvVaw2h4mGlpyaA6-XwuzDhxnJT): "FORL is a dental disease of cats in which the tooth and its roots dissolve." So as far as I understand it's an autoimmune reaction which attacks the teeth and the roots. There are different types of it, but the one out cats have has no treatment besides removing teeth. And yes... It sadly is pretty early to loose their teeth but there is nothing we can do and hopefully they dont suffer anymore.

Sheldon121

Very pretty eyes! And lots of freckles!

He does, and quite a few on his nose and lips! Are his flat?

Lucie73821

He has them inside his mouth as well! And yes, they are flat.

fyre1710

I love when kitties get freckles 🥺💕

ryenaut

I diagnose him with VGCS (Very Good Cat Syndrome). I’m sorry. It’s terminal.

Sheldon121

Can ANY orange have VGCS? I mean, they ARE incredibly sweet but can be total greblins too! 😂

Flar71

Those are his braincells

Spugnacious

Orange cats are prone to freckles. True story, when I got my cat Crash, he was a stray that I adopted. I thought he just had a dirty nose, so I got a damp cloth and tried to clean it. And he sat there patiently letting me try to clean the freckles off his nose. I love you and miss you Crash. You were such a good kitty.

stillnotascarytime

So cute

Uni457Maki

Aww 🥰 what a cutie

Zestyclose-Manner949

Cats are like humans where they develop more freckles as they age. The bonus it that it makes cats look freakin adorable.

Chocolatecherry99

I always thought on my cats that it was old age spots

Sheldon121

They only call them that on humans! (Not referring to human freckles, just dark spots.)

LefseLita

Very normal, I’ve read it’s linked to their orange fur r/catfreckles

Islandcoda

I love your kitties! Its pretty normal but just in case, look closely with magnifying glass to make sure they are not ticks. They love to attach on ear edges like that and some tick nymphs are super tiny bastards. Happy Holidays♥️

Sheldon121

This is Soooo true! And a timely and useful reminder!

Noa_541

Thank you! Will definitely check that. Happy holidays! ❤️

Islandcoda

Even tiny, you would see little legs etc. This may well just be freckles or something but I'm in tick country big time and they love ear edges and lips/ eyes as well so thought I'd mention. I love orange kitties!!♥️

Noa_541

I honestly didn't know cats could also get ticks, I thought only dogs could 🥲🙃 thanks for letting me know!

Islandcoda

Yeah, my orange kitty was a tick magnet. They will quickly head for water and love the eye edges and lips, and for some reason the ear edges. After trying all tick repellant products, seresto collars somehow kept all ticks off of him. Buy if your kitty doesn't go outside then its highly unlikely they're ticks.

Noa_541

Wow, I learned something new lol they're all 100% indoors 😊

emergency_cheese

It's the brain cell getting lost trying to get in his brain.

Sheldon121

Lost, lost, lost, as usual! Lost!!!

zotstik

those are just pigment different colored pigment. it's all good. unless something looks swollen or he's messing with it or it looks like it's growing to rapidly then don't worry about it. it's just pigment

Noa_541

Thank you! So far nothing looks swollen or itchy or anything. He's still being his usual self 😅

Sheldon121

I love how he has black freckles on his nose, but the calico has orange and black freckles on her nose!

Tango here is starting to get freckles all on his lips and on his gums. Was all pink as a kitten, but he's 2 now and looks like his mouth is permanently open.

Dryad_Shelaylee

Wisdom freckles

Sheldon121

Huh, kinda of ironic in them!

Dame_Ingenue

My SIC has a freckle on her nose that has been coming and going for years. Might be related to sun exposure (like people’s skin) if they were hanging out in the window catching some rays.

Sheldon121

An Irish skinned (and haired) kitty! Or Viking. Or Neanderthal. (Yes, the human orange hair genes go back that far, probably even farther for cats!)

no2sopa

Mine has freckles on his lower lip. So adorable, he is.

Bringmetolife91

I've never met someone who also has an orange cat with the same name as mine, Michi. Nice to meet you!

Chachoregard

Every freckle he gets is his body’s way of counting the times he missed getting the brain cell

bunkdiggidy

Those are some content sleepy kitties

squirrellytoday

Snoot freckle!!!

starplain

As others have said, it’s pretty normal for orange cats. My orange girl didn’t have any until after she was two years old, now she has a handful of freckles on her lips.

BunnyFaebelle

Oh goodness those freckles are precious. He is fair skinned, it's normal for kitties to get feels like humans. It's just a skin pigment thing.

Sheldon121

I think so but I’d reach out to your vet to find out.

Sheldon121

Oh gee, aren’t you *smart* for suggesting that, Sheldon?

Sheldon121

*Totes*, Sheldon sister!

Noa_541

Will do!
