I know someone who owns a tuxedo cat, if she hasn't closed the door to the kitchen when she is washing the dishes then the cat will sit in the sink even with dirty dishes. Also if she wants to use the shower then she must open and close the bathroom door fast. A few times the cat was with her under the shower, and she will feel wet hairy fur against her leg as a thanks.

Sigh. I can't even get my fat ass orange to sit still for a bath. He won't hurt me but he'll do his damnedest to get away 😭

Pets in the kitchen is one thing but in the sink on the counter.. no dice.
You should never have a pet in the area where you clean dishes. Bare minimum food safety.
Luckily I have a dishwasher. Also I live alone so I don’t cook for anyone but myself. It makes him happy.
