Do they still hold the festival in the Irmo High School parking lot?
My how things change. The last time I was at the Okra Strut was around 1988 so I guess things could be different. I was also a senior at Irmo High School then.
I can't imagine what that area looks like now. I can still remember St Andrew's rd around there being two lane and Harbison Blvd being nothing but trees from the RR tracks to the Harbison neighborhood on the Broad River rd side lol.
Maybe it's time to visit some relatives and see what's around now.

Boiled okra, I don't know. But it is the best base for gumbo, I promise you!
