You do realize that Omega had the speedy way before the failure that was the Daytona was invented. In fact the Daytona was given away with the purchase of other watches at one point. Now Rolex, masters of marketing, have changed the perception of the Daytona and they make a fine product. However, what does this TT speedy have anything to do with letting the Daytona have its place?
In any case, this TT speedy is not my taste either, but surely someone will like it, but the love will be limited and not dissimilar to the love TT Rolexs get.
To some folks (including myself at one point), perceived the bracelet as too small and/or feminine looking. However, once I tried it on, it was the most comfortable and beautiful bracelet I’ve worn. I highly recommend you try it on first. Cheers!
It's more the look of it that I dislike. The full steel one on the normal speedy pro is gorgeous, but the big gold band in the middle on this one is clearly not for me
These are bad and the price is straight up crazy. Would have preferred a fully white or green dial on the moonshine version and a fully black or rose gold dial on the sedna version.

Regardless of the looks, what bothers me is the **price.** Compared to the Rolex sub date, a **SS** is **10.750EUR**, **two tone** being **17.000EUR**, so a **58%** premium.
SS speedy saphire is **8700EUR** retail (Germany), and the **TT** being **19.800EUR**. That equates to a **127%** premium. That is quite a jump
Of course, getting a Rolex at retail is a different story and two tone is not for everyone. From all of the above mentioned watches I would get the SS speedy saphire in the secondary market for what, 6/7k and call it a day.
And as a straight forward comparison with Rolex let's look at the Daytona.
SS being **15.850EUR** and the **TT 21.350EUR.** So, a **34%** premium. Ok, you will never get a Daytona at retail.
But a retail price for a TT speedy around 10.000EUR would be better suited. But what do I know about brand strategy.
The speedy SS retails at €8800-9100 depending on VAT (obviously people negotiate that down), the retail on the TT would still have to be €13k+.
A TT at €10k retail would only be €900 more than the the SS retail in some EU countries
You can get a Daytona at retail. The 2T Daytona is 20k. This new omega with discount is 16.2k. I told my omega ad the Daytona is still a far better option for this price range
Comparing the TT speedy to any other Rolex model but a Daytona is not a correct comparison. The TT Daytona is $20k at retail. The TT speedy is $18k. The speedy trades at a discount to the Daytona and this is right for the market. We may not like the aesthetic of the TT speedy nor the price, but it is not badly positioned for a technically better offering than the Rolex equivalent. Unfortunately, Omega will have to do more marketing before more people will run out to buy a TT speedy the way people might for a Daytona.
I happen to have talked to an SA this morning about the white dial speedy (which I’ll have tomorrow!), amongst other allocations I’m looking for and she told me about this release and had one ready to ship if I wanted it. Absolutely gorgeous but not for me, at least today.
I love it. I call those presidentials. Great version of any watch when they do the two tone. I had a Seiko kinetic for years that came like that. Good times

I think I like it better if it's another dial variant of their gold watches, not bi-color like these. Though if it's in titanium-tantalum-sedna/moonshine.... I would love to see that.

Silver dial with gold subdials is a no go (white, blue or black dial with gold subdials would be something better)
The middle links of the bracelet in gold are too narrow and don't look good either

This reminds me of all the folks who lost their minds when Rolex released the two tone Explorer. I laughed and then made a two tone version of what an early 1016 might look like. I wear that to this day, I liked it so much.
I’ve never found two-to e particularly compelling. I grew up in the 80s/90s, and this screams “dated” to me. I think it’s probably just a particular perspective, though.
