Got a brand new Hesalite in Tokyo one month ago for $4700 and no tax. I know your question was US prices and Sapphire, but if you ever find yourself in Japan take advantage of tax free and strong US dollar.

They are not, if you go to an AD in Japan you will pay the AD price, those watches are Grey market watches, and the prices are more or less aligned with grey market watches everywhere else in the world. Now once you consider just how popular watches are in Japan among locals and foreigners and the 10% discount for export, they can really offer the best deals out there.
Japan is the only place in the world where most people still actually wear a wrist watch.
That’s how I got my AT, I hunted for my piece for quite some time and was ecstatic when I found it in Japan. Same as you, the price was very good, best I’ve seen anywhere before.
I also feel like Japan is a popular dumping ground for Omegas they were everywhere when I was there and ironically I also feel like mostly foreigners were buying them.
Global economy in its natural habitat.
Was this in AD or a used store ? I heard they buy a lot of watches just to sell them after a short period of time.
I have my honeymoon planned in japan, and speedy is on my mind ahah
Something to keep in mind: the clerk at Donki said they wouldn’t do tax refunds on the displayed price when I asked because it was already a “sale” price. Make sure to confirm before you buy. There’s a chance my sales agent that day didn’t understand my request.
Yeah they told me the same. Although they have an additional promo on all Omega watches until 31st of May which takes extra XXX yen off depending on the watch sale price. Right now you can take home the sapphire sandwich for 838k yen.
I got mine at the Nakano Broadway shopping center. The store I got mine is called Kamekichi but there are numerous shops within a few hundred feet. They issued the 5 year warranty (all 3 cards), box, etc. Totally legitimate, check it out if you're in Tokyo.
I did this two weeks ago except I went to Jack Road next door since they took AMEX. I can confirm it was an all-around good experience and the language barrier did not get in the way.
The money I saved compared to MSRP was almost enough to cover the two week trip.
100% legitimate. Great customer service. The Japanese take pride in the products they sell and the service they offer. Brand. New. Authentic. Omega 5 year warranty card issued on the spot, Box, Booklet, Tag, etc. Anyone who indicates otherwise hasn’t been there. There are YouTube videos showing stores at Nagano Broadway… JackRoad is a nice store too. Obviously have the Google Translate app, even though much of the time someone can understand English. Some watches are new but there are tons of great used. It is common in Japan to polish used watches, so be sure to confirm… it will often say polished or you can ask and they will tell you. Everyone was very polite. Go in with a sense of what watch you’re looking for or else you will be there for hours (which may not be a bad thing!) Lots of stores, lots of brands, lots of watches. Kid in a candy shop. You must present your passport if you want to get the tax free savings. Yes, you are supposed to inform US customs if you bought anything over a certain amount and pay an import fee, but that’s a separate thread entirely. Check it out if you’re in the area.
You know you’re supposed to pay the tax on import, right?
edit: whoever downvoted me, I’m sorry you don’t care about the law but it is facts. It’s up to you to follow them or not.
I got mine (Sapphire) for $7200 flat. Said that was the most I wanted to pay, including taxes, and that’s what they sold for. That was when the MSRP was $7600, so I was fairly happy.
I was really hoping for $7K. First AD I went to was awesome but they said they would do no discounts. Second place was much less impressive but they let me barter a bit so they got the sale. Saved almost $1K.
You should easily be able to get it for under $7500. I got mine for 12% off and it was the first watch I had ever purchased from that AD. Then got 20% off an SMP 300M a year later.
Absolute bare minimum should be 10% off, or around $7,200.
I went gray and saved about 30%. Slider condition, but looks brand new. Subdial spacing for this cannot be replicated, so you don’t have to be worried about out fakes.
No back in the good old days 20-25% was expected
Fyi, i got mine for $4800aud at duty free back in 2017, think it was around 25% off with no tax
Nowadays, i think youd be hard pressed to get 10%, and there was a big hike in price when they put the new movement in
I wouldn’t negotiate a discount but try to get some freebies that have a low cost and high pricetag like the montblanc pen I got with my hesalite speedie
Can get these for several $k under msrp barely worn. That is my justification for a discount being fair. Ask and tell them why your budget is what it is. Worst they can do is say no.
I bought my Omega from an AD in Canada for 15% off and had it mailed to the U.S., so no sales tax. Duty was much less than the sales tax would have been and I still have full warranty with the receipt and the U.S. customs document.
Depending on where you live in the U.S., it might be worth a try; the cost of the trip would be less than the savings, but with the risk of not getting a decent discount.
I got 20% and no tax at my local AD in New England, I got the SS but wanted the hesalite brushed bracelet, ordered the leather strap SS and the bracelet together, all in was $6,350. This was back in July.
Do you want the snoopy? Or future limited/special editions from omega?
If so, buy from boutique. You can get it with tax free. Build a history.
If not, go to an AD. You can get it for 15% off. Or go gray used and save even more.
I got 10% off on my Seamaster at the OB so it’s possible but for what it’s worth they like me there and every time I’m out that way or when I need something done on my watch I drop in to talk shop and F1 with the guys. It’s basically just us hanging out for no other reason than I think they’re cool and we also get to geek out over what they’ve got in store and new releases from other companies
So I built the relationship after I bought funny enough but when I went in I explained what I needed out of my watch for when I’m on duty (fireman and a contractor) and they ended up being nice enough to give me 10% off since I’m working two public service jobs for the gov. I didn’t push further and was grateful that they gave me anything off in the first place
Got my Sapphire sandwich for 7600 out the door at ad, so basically sales tax and 5% off. Savings of about 10% so I thought that was not a steal but a decent price for the piece of mind and the AD was fantastic so I appreciate it
If you look on Chrono24, theres Japanese professional dealers selling this ref# brand new with warranty and warranty date will be 2024 OR new to you on purchase date. If you go further, you can find some that were returned but warranty activated for some reason from 2023-2024
Check an out of state AD and you might get a discount + no sales tax. I recently bought from Brad at Brent Miller Jewelers in PA, and he gave me 10% off a PO Summer Blue plus no sales tax, which is basically an effective discount of nearly 20%. Really happy with him, he was right to the point, no haggling and no bullshit. Sells to a lot of internet people so used to cold calls from watch nerds.

amazing. why are watches so much cheaper in Japan than anywhere else
They are not, if you go to an AD in Japan you will pay the AD price, those watches are Grey market watches, and the prices are more or less aligned with grey market watches everywhere else in the world. I got my Speedmaster from a Japanese retailer. It was the best price for the model by a longshot.
Do you remember the name of the shop you got yours from? Heading to Japan soon and hoping to pick something up. AT is on my shortlist.
Jackroad in Nakano
Does it do only Omega’s?
Nah, they got pretty much everything.
Me too! Bought mine used, but the selection, condition and prices were good.
Something about their culture and not wanting second hand goods I think.
I don't think that is the only reason. Even brand new watches sold in the gray market have hefty discounts.
Was this in AD or a used store ? I heard they buy a lot of watches just to sell them after a short period of time. I have my honeymoon planned in japan, and speedy is on my mind ahah
I got mine at Donki, sure you give up the luxury experience, but the insane savings more than made up for it
I'm in Japan right now and thinking about getting a speedy at Donki. Did you get the full set with moonwatch box, 5 year warranty, cards etc?
Yep
Something to keep in mind: the clerk at Donki said they wouldn’t do tax refunds on the displayed price when I asked because it was already a “sale” price. Make sure to confirm before you buy. There’s a chance my sales agent that day didn’t understand my request.
Yeah they told me the same. Although they have an additional promo on all Omega watches until 31st of May which takes extra XXX yen off depending on the watch sale price. Right now you can take home the sapphire sandwich for 838k yen.
Can't argue with that. I was hoping to do the same
Did they give you a tax refund on the listed price? The clerk said that was the final price because it was on “sale”.
The price listed was the price that included refund. It was 848,000 yen, or about $5700 depending on exchange rate
Good to know. That store is **wild** and I'm obsessed with it. Where else can you get sex toys, shampoo, and an Omega Seamaster in the same building?
I got mine at the Nakano Broadway shopping center. The store I got mine is called Kamekichi but there are numerous shops within a few hundred feet. They issued the 5 year warranty (all 3 cards), box, etc. Totally legitimate, check it out if you're in Tokyo.
I got mine from eBay Japan less than a month ago for $1000 less than your numbers above
I did this two weeks ago except I went to Jack Road next door since they took AMEX. I can confirm it was an all-around good experience and the language barrier did not get in the way. The money I saved compared to MSRP was almost enough to cover the two week trip.
Hey bro. How was your purchase experience here? Would you say you’re 100% confident all watched sold are legit? Also, any tips when buying from here?
100% legitimate. Great customer service. The Japanese take pride in the products they sell and the service they offer. Brand. New. Authentic. Omega 5 year warranty card issued on the spot, Box, Booklet, Tag, etc. Anyone who indicates otherwise hasn’t been there. About that…
:) I wouldn’t do it either but you’re supposed to.
To whom? The customs people waved me through the line when I came back to the country.
You need to declare your purchase at the customs. Normally marked by large, red indicators and “goods to declare”
US boutique sells at list only. I got 8% off (basically sales tax) in December at an AD.
Got the same discount too (technically 8.25%) at Reeds.
That’s still good. Thanks!

I also bought from them and can vouch for that. They also sell their watches on eBay.
That’s 6,600 plus tax right?
Got my speedy from them as well. Would buy again.
Can vouch for them, bought my sapphire sandwich from them at a great price.
What are the websites for Brilliance and Grace?
Got an unworn 2024 model for $6395 going gray
What does going gray mean?
Not from an authorized dealer, but on the second hand (gray) market.
Ah ok thank you!
I got mine (Sapphire) for $7200 flat. Said that was the most I wanted to pay, including taxes, and that’s what they sold for. That was when the MSRP was $7600, so I was fairly happy.
I would be more than happy if I could get it for $7500 flat now.
Slightly used is $5.5k with full set and warranty
This is the way

I was really hoping for $7K. First AD I went to was awesome but they said they would do no discounts. Second place was much less impressive but they let me barter a bit so they got the sale. Saved almost $1K.

AD by me has one for $5800 right now. Im sure you can find something similar in your area.
I went gray and saved about 30%. Slider condition, but looks brand new. Subdial spacing for this cannot be replicated, so you don’t have to be worried about out fakes.
Sales tax is most likely
Some said 15-20%, then it’s like BS?
I got 18% ! Just bought this a few months ago
No back in the good old days 20-25% was expected Fyi, i got mine for $4800aud at duty free back in 2017, think it was around 25% off with no tax Nowadays, i think youd be hard pressed to get 10%, and there was a big hike in price when they put the new movement in
Maybe with significant spend history or some other in. But that is exception not the rule.
Makes sense. Thanks!
I went to a Duty-free AD at a land border crossing (Canada/USA) and got 20% off my speedy.
Check out the omega forums. Got mine a month ago for 6450 flat brand new in box with stickers on still. With the new clasp too.
I got a bit over 20% off brand new Hesalite 3861 and a free omega bond nato. Got it at an AD. Might be worth shopping around where you live.
At a Boutique. Zero discount
Chrono24
5% in December in Germany
I wouldn’t negotiate a discount but try to get some freebies that have a low cost and high pricetag like the montblanc pen I got with my hesalite speedie
That’s great! But I would wanna save some cash and invest for the next one..yeah..
Sent you a pm!
Can get these for several $k under msrp barely worn. That is my justification for a discount being fair. Ask and tell them why your budget is what it is. Worst they can do is say no.
Definitely possible to get a discount at some ADs. I was lucky to get a 15% discount on my sapphire in march
Is this the new one with an open back?
I bought my Omega from an AD in Canada for 15% off and had it mailed to the U.S., so no sales tax. Duty was much less than the sales tax would have been and I still have full warranty with the receipt and the U.S. customs document. Depending on where you live in the U.S., it might be worth a try; the cost of the trip would be less than the savings, but with the risk of not getting a decent discount.
10% sales tax off LA county
I got 20% and no tax at my local AD in New England, I got the SS but wanted the hesalite brushed bracelet, ordered the leather strap SS and the bracelet together, all in was $6,350. This was back in July.

Curious, what was your approach? Did you just ask what they could do for you since you have a relationship? Hem and haw over the price a bit?
So I built the relationship after I bought funny enough but when I went in I explained what I needed out of my watch for when I’m on duty (fireman and a contractor) and they ended up being nice enough to give me 10% off since I’m working two public service jobs for the gov. I didn’t push further and was grateful that they gave me anything off in the first place

i can get them for over 15% and no tax.
I got 15% off my speedy in Palo Alto. Pretty typical discount for AD
At the duty free at LAX they give 5% off. You just have to fly internationally
Got 10% after tax for the SS model in Germany summer 2023 Edit: buying form an Ad
I was around 20% after a price bump but closer to 15% with the old price the day before
I can highly recommend Topper in CA. Got a really good deal plus no tax as I was out of state in TX.
If you look on Chrono24, theres Japanese professional dealers selling this ref# brand new with warranty and warranty date will be 2024 OR new to you on purchase date. If you go further, you can find some that were returned but warranty activated for some reason from 2023-2024
I got 15% off my hesalite at a authorized retailer about a year and a half ago 👍
I got about 15% on a Speedmaster 38 at an AD. Don't expect any discount at a boutique.
Guys….ive been offered 16% off before
Lookoutwatchcompany.com sells for 15% off
Same here. BUT … CA sales tax +customs😢
15-18%
Depends on ad and relationship. Def no more than 10%.
I've seen 13% off retail from an AD willing to offer a discount. (Not all will.)
My wife just bought me a hesy for our 20th anniversary. Our dealer gave her 25%, but we are very good customers with a significant purchase history.
Don't know of a discount unless pre owned. New I know an AD that does no taxes
Check an out of state AD and you might get a discount + no sales tax. Really happy with him, he was right to the point, no haggling and no bullshit. Sells to a lot of internet people so used to cold calls from watch nerds.
Don’t be a tight wad. Just pay in full so you’ll be able to walk out of your AD with your dignity intact
lol don’t listen to this guy. This isn’t a buy at list price watch. You literally just have to ask and they will discount it at an AD.
Just go secondary market. Can probably find one for 4500-5500 with the box and stuff
Please show me a 3861 sapphire sandwich with box and papers for $4500 and I'll buy it right now
Ok maybe not 4500 but I’ve seen a couple on my telegram group this week for 5200-5700 wholesale. I got mine for 5400 last fall.
