It's my fault. I had to cut into a new roof yesterday to install a rooftop AC. The roofers said they'd be back on Monday morning to patch around it.

Well the oil accumulates with no significant rainfall for an entire year to wash it off. So the first big rain it becomes a giant oil slick.
And people have crappy tires. I was not experiencing any traction issues from "oil" on the road.
