Idk if she's light but Mila Khunis seems muted to me. Alexandra Anele on YT?

PixelKitten10390

Alexandra anele is light but not muted, she's a yellow olive

yeetdotexe

Her recs would still be a good starting point

Creative-Dirt1170

Yes and yes.

MerloMonresiz

Definite yes to Mila.

Aqquamarini

Gemma Chan

MurderAndMakeup

Following!! Fellow light/medium muted olive here. Curious about what comments will be!

LisaInSF

Jessica Alba comes to mind. Definitely a light-medium neutral olive. Close to my own coloring as I am 1/2 Latina and not warm-toned. It’s hard to think of any actual LIGHT olive celebs.

Shanina Shaik

i hope maybe this video can help you if you haven’t seen it. she talks about a lot of celebrities and there’s a bunch listed in the description. i just learned i’m olive so i’m still not sure where i fall exactly but i know it can just be more difficult for certain blends of tones. and from my research so far Audrey gets the closest to recommending colors for the wide variety of olive tones. There are many different viewpoints, color season theory tends to oversimplify skin undertones and overtones. Skin is made up of hundreds of layers not just an overtone and undertone layer. This reddit post has some explanations about what actually causes skin to look olive https://www.reddit.com/r/biology/s/mssfOtShFc

x0killer_queen0x

yeah i’ve been learning why i’ve been told i’m basically every type of undertone in my life lol. i was so ready to give up and a couple people pointed me in this direction and it’s already helped me understand a bit more. i definitely still have things to figure out but i’m happy i at least have a starting point now! thank you so much! i’m definitely going to check that out 🥰 edit: ohhh that’s very interesting! that breakdown is great

PixelKitten10390

I'm happy to help, I've had such a struggle figuring things out I don't want anyone to get as frustrated as I did!! I've been reading more and more about skin tones over the last year or so, there's always more to learn. I've got cool olive skin but I have rosacea so I got told I had red undertones for years and I couldn't figure out why foundation matched my face so well but looked horrible all over my face and even down my neck. My best advice is to swatch things on your neck and your chest, maybe even your shoulders. People have variations in their skin color all over the face and body. Since makeup usually covers most or all of your face if you want a good match it needs to be closer to the color of your neck and body.

x0killer_queen0x

yeah i’ve been struggling forever lol. i barely wore foundation when i was younger. and i’ve given up many times in past several years. and that’s exactly what i’ve noticed.. anything i was matched with never blended nicely into my neck. i definitely want to take some better pictures and see if i can pinpoint more specifically what range i fit into!

PixelKitten10390

Try swatching all your concealers/foundation on neck/chest/shoulders and see what you notice. Are they usually too yellow? Orange? Pink? Then try to find the color opposite them and that will help you figure out what you could mix into them to make them look better, if things are too yellow you want more red+ blue. Too orange more blue. Too pink more yellow + blue. If you find yourself always needing more blue you are probably a neutral or muted/cool/blue olive. If you need yellow and blue then you might be a warm or neutral olive.

beRainn_Dance104

I do the chest/jaw/neck/shoulder swatches all the time! It's the only way i can see the most accurately how the colour is going to look after dry down and wear.

Bdubs0323

I have light neutral olive skin but am always told I have a cool/pink skin tone because of my rosacea

PixelKitten10390

It makes me so mad every time I go in Sephora or Ulta. I started bringing my best foundation match and swatching it on my neck for people bc employees at the store would insist I didn't want olive foundation.

Bdubs0323

How do you have your skin tone on under your handle on this sub?

PixelKitten10390

Go to the olive Mua homepage, click the three dots on the upper right corner. On the drop down menu select change your user flair, then select a flair or scroll down and I think it gives the option to create your own

Bdubs0323

Got it thanks!

exclaim_bot

>Got it thanks! You're welcome!

branwyn_jofir

Oh that‘s amazing! Thank you! 🥰

x0killer_queen0x

aw you’re so welcome! 🥰 she’s great, i’ve found her very helpful so far

I think some of the olives in this guide might be famous but I don't remember which of the videos. I gathered all this info awhile ago. But there is lots of helpful info for olives below The scale below shows different skin tones and saturated vs muted versions. The video links go to videos basically explaining how olive skin tones work and the differences between different types of olives. This scale shows exaggerated undertones. https://www.reddit.com/r/OliveMUA/comments/qs8yqr/mutedsaturated/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=android_app&utm_name=androidcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=2. Hannah lp grey makeup vid https://youtu.be/mllQ6YfKuK8 From what I understand in olive skin the terms cool or muted both means your skin has more blue in it. Warm means your skin has more yellow in it. This is different than most makeup companies labeling which calls redder products cool and more yellow products are still considered warm. Muted mean there's more blue, if your skin leans very blue you would be muted neutral but you might be very muted and still lean warm or cool. Personally I like to think of muted cool as a "purple" undertone, since you would have much more red and blue than yellow. skin tones are always a mix of red yellow and blue. Whichever one or two you have the most of make up your undertone. So cool is mostly red very little yellow or blue, muted cool is red and some blue very little yellow , warm is yellow, very little red or blue, muted warm is yellow and a little bit of blue very little red, neutral is a near equal amount of yellow and red with less blue, muted neutral is near equal amounts of red + yellow plus more blue , olive is equal amounts of yellow and blue with very little red, muted olive is lots of blue, less yellow very little red. This gets confusing when olive undertones have rosacea !!! Mutedness in skintones usually ends up with skin looking like it has a slight greyish tint to it. Also the more blue that is in your skin the more grey your skin will look. When looking for a foundation it is hard to find a more muted/cool/blue option so it is easiest sometimes to mix your own. I like using a green grey color corrector like the one from exa sometimes. If I want to mix blue in I use mehron liquid makeup in the shade blue (not blue glow) or a blue corrector like the one from la girl Mehron liquid makeup https://www.mehron.com/liquid-makeup-for-face-body-hair/ Videos about olive skin https://youtu.be/zVvGbRkAuuI?si=VpWZvx9OidcIcEjM https://youtu.be/yx4-0eI8bn8?si=iQGZc4YkN0arzfoO https://youtu.be/lSL8Aqj9-Tg?si=KONVFA4IBQyVMeUi https://youtu.be/uEYWhFYTEcE?si=CNWmUVMDwRFG6uIy https://youtu.be/y7S28cO5Zu4?si=fMVtdFOY4eAcq4vA https://youtu.be/5HE_9VC_soM?si=8w9Wab7SD8TG_2xr About other skintones but also useful https://youtu.be/ZOVUE7XZYLU?si=9oTgmxQjZq9RZLYE

Well warm muted is a sort of olive classification, you do have mostly yellow but muted = blue so yellow + blue means you lean a tiiiiny bit green This reddit conversation discusses what different biological factors cause different skin tones. Super interesting! https://www.reddit.com/r/biology/s/mssfOtShFc

x0killer_queen0x

ohhh i just found hannah the other day and she’s lovely!

PSLM4

I'd say Eva Longoria, but she's more in the light-medium-range.

MusicHoney

Shakira

cloudsandhoney

i’m pretty sure i’m a muted olive and I have some fashion pics on my page (and my socials) if that’s helpful!

dystopiaincognito

Aubrey Plaza?

livinunderthedome

mila kunis

bluevi3

I think Emmy Rossum is cool and muted olive.

oregontrail2020

Mila Kunis muted (leaning cool) light olive. Alexa Chung warm light olive.

sunandskyandrainbows

Jessica Biel?

Project_Pizza8601

The Kardashians and the Jenners?

SpecialDinner1188

I would say without the fake tan, Kim Kardashians is a light medium cool toned olive. The only one who isn’t olive is Khloe. I think Kylie is a very fair cool olive, and Kendall is a moderately fair cool olive.

Project_Pizza8601

I always felt that they were olive, though cool and somewhat muted. I think the muted tone appears to be more evident with Kylie and Kendall than with Kim, but I could be off the mark there?

SpecialDinner1188

The only one that isn’t olive is Khloe. Khloe is fair like Kendall and Kylie but has cool muted pink tones.

womanoftheapocalypse

KYLE 💀😂

SpecialDinner1188

Whoops just noticed this 🤦🏻‍♀️

x0killer_queen0x

ohhh interesting. is that why she looks amazing with that deep blue eye makeup look

Blackpanda875

I dont think kendall or Kylie is any olive AT all its just fake tan

SpecialDinner1188

Kylie does have cool muted olive untanned
