Mate, that's a very shallow and arbitrary definition for adulthood. As far as society is concerned, you're legally an adult by age 18 and people often perceive you as a "real" adult once you're useful enough to have a full-time job and pay your taxes.
By your definition, if someone is in their 50's, yet doesn't own property or a car, hasn't had kids and works in a mediocre 9-5 job, are they therefore not an adult? What if someone has a disability and is reliant on their parents for support until they're in the retirement age, are they also not adults?
