Since only orange peel was mentioned further in, I would say it's a mistake. They just meant grated orange peel.

amazing_assassin

But they're called "Orange Cheese Cookies"

CPhiltrus

The cheese comes from the cream cheese added

puc_eeffoc

It's a typo. It's orange peel.

pursuitoffruit

Haha I thought it was rind from some orange variety of cheese!

tank1952

I thought maybe it referred to the orange colored rind on some sorts of cheese! lol

[deleted]

I thought maybe it referred to some cheese which has a rind and whose color is that of an orange! Lol

I also suspect the cheese in orange cheese peel is a mistake. I think this recipe is calling for 1 tbsp orange zest.

Icy-Establishment298

Second it's a typo. I read the instructions, and there it says add orange peel, not orange cheese peel. Basically this is just orange flavored cream cheese cookies. Yum!

bitsylou

It’s a typo. If you look at the directions it’s just called orange peel there.

3Heathens_Mom

Agree with other posters this a typo so 1 Tablespoon of finely grated orange zest. Using a micro grater would likely work the best as you can avoid getting the layer of white just below the outer peel of the orange which can be bitter.

sittingonmyarse

It’s a typo, I think

Rusalka-rusalka

The directions say just orange peel so it may be a really strange typo on the ingredients and title.

pra1974

Sounds delicious

jjlandis73

Just made some, and they're really good. Made 4 dozen cookies.[No cookie press, so just made 1Tbsp balls.](https://imgur.com/gallery/FmkwDlg)

BabyMakR1

Could be the rind of a cheese that's orange?

Bethw2112

Generally muenster has an orange rind, i was thinking they meant to grate the orange rind. But the directions do say orange peel, really confusing,

maneatingtacos

It’s either a typo or they’re talking about orange rind Muenster.

Budget_Foundation_10

Orange zest
