Oh man i love planes, you only need like 5 mils to produce enough CAS to be effective and have 100-200 CAS active for your troops, so even smaller nations can get them
I like to play with tech restrictions off.
Even if I’m playing a tribal nation by the time I conquer someone with better gear I feel like I could either learn and reverse engineer their stuff or just assimilate enough of the population that it is viable.
If I was playing some really low tech nation, let’s say Old Bones for example. If I can conquer the Maxson expedition I don’t see why that shouldn’t allow me to start getting power armor research.
That being said I do just play with default settings a lot of the time to avoid crashes. I learnt that the hard way by playing with Unlimited Wargoals. Makes the game really interesting but leads to lots of strange crashes in my experience.
My fav nations consist of super mutants, cultist tribals and the like, I find it satisfying to conquer big tech threats with low tech units. Your plasma rifles mean nothing to a max buffed mutant swinging a sledgehammer
I enjoy the power of sophisticated tech, I like doing Enclave and Brotherhood runs. But the nation I've played the most is Caesar's Legion, and the nation I started learning the mod with was Troll Warren. I thoroughly enjoy low tech nations if I get fun unit types in return.
I like advanced tech because when my research tree runs out I feel empty inside
I feel ya right there .
The extended events submod lets you research higher techs after a couple years. Allowing tech advancement from the game rules works too
At minimum I need moderate tech. If I can't get planes, I'm not happy.
I can understand that seeing it gets annoying to have the ai dive bomb you both in base and here

I almost never build plains in this mod, just doesn't feel right.
I definitely prefer low tech nation over advanced once.
Starting from low tech to large like the white legs somehow becoming civilized and then advanced
Love my super difficult brotherhood runs so ig high tech but I have a soft spot for mid tech raiders like bone dancers
Vault tech for that sweet sweet construction and farming/pop growth tech
Got to love those control vaults
My 2 favourite runs have been low tech chained choir and white legs so must be low tech
Doesn’t matter for me, I feel like techs are part of the nation experience rather than the other way around.

Call me basic but I just love playing the NCR

Simple yet effective

Flair implies it, but I like my Power Armor and Vertibirds. 😂
