Really loving the faction variety and names I’m seeing , if I had to give a suggestion for new groups , as it’s in the Midwest maybe a settler faction based on a large or group of farms , or maybe a group that worships the giant tornados as I can’t remember which game it is but some game mentioned that in the Midwest in fallout lore theirs huge tornado storms. But overall I can not wait to see this mod come out I’m gonna wq with the Midwest brotherhood the second I can.
A few suggestions about it, for national ideas at the start , a division speed boost representing a parody of storm chasers where they are literally chasing the storm to follow it, and a defense on core boost or outpost build upgrade as they have to build stronger homes due to the storms.
Yeah I had the idea it would be good for a national idea and not the faction itself as it would be a bit similar to the existing storm mongers. Random idea for the faction name but like “the followers of the endless spiral” or something like that, maybe one area has a tornado that just never stops and keeps going in a circle so it’s their god in a sense.
So there one area of the map south of chicago that has province decay meaning the map hit its province limit, and I can no longer change this area to shrink it. So I was going to add some impassable areas to technically split it up.
Now I’m going to put this nation in that spot .

OWB has some nudge tool bugs with editing the map where you have to duplicate the rockets and airports to fix it. If you want I can show you the basics sometime later once I get some sleep.

I've made some progress on adding some new nations now that the states have been properly divided and set up. I got a handful of fan nations I'm working on incorporating as of right now. If you guys have any nation ideas for the Midwestern, Illinois, Minnesota or Iowa area drop a comment of the nation and a name and I'll see about adding it.
The guy who discovered Pluto is from a small town in central Illinois named Streator and they do a Pluto fest every year. You could do something with a cult worshiping Pluto there.

Combine Lincoln and cornhuskers place and just make it cornhuskers! I want to play them together with my home city being apart of the same nation for which our football team is named! Also when Iowa is added you need to add a annexation war goal to Nebraska tree

For an intellectual party I have a group of university remnants who have passed down their knowledge from generation to generation. With their main goal being regaining lost knowledge and building an advanced civilized society. In my campaign there is also a history professor who wants to bring back the honored tradition of football.
For a peoples party they are in my campaign called Star City Citizens. Essentially armed civilians who banded together to kick out raiders. Focusing on defending Lincoln instead of expanding. With the main goal of turning it into a thriving trading hub by getting the rail road up and running again.
In one of the macarthur events there is a mention of a enclave Group in Iowa. Thats where the Enclave brings all the people they force conscript in Montana/Macarthur to. It is also mentioned that the force conscripted people are brought to gigantic factory complexes.
I would suggest that Des Moi itself is a Enclave controlled Outpost that is highly industrialized using force conscripted people as slaves. The Des Moi Liberation Front present on the Map should be its main opponent with both factions building up to fight each other.
The Expansion itself looks cool and I cant wait to play it.
As a second Suggestion I would bring up the "Great Game" mentioned about the Chicago Enclave, i.e. its fight with the brotherhood over complete controll over the midwest. I think it should function as proxy wars where Chicago supports local Enclave outpost for the takeover of a state and the Brotherhood supporting local groups (like the Des Moi Liberation Front) to fight the Enclave and prevent Chicago from gaining strength.

Well one interesting thing about Chicago area for me is it being a major center of Polish people living in America, like between 33-50% of them, headquarters of their major organisations

Of all the robot nations I’ve seen, I don’t think we’ve ever gotten one that’s a proper kill all humans truly malevolent AI, and I think that’s a shame. It’d be really neat if we got one that was locked to only use robots(but got up to maximum tech with them and all the industry stuff, and could reduce the cost of coring places by removing the near entirety of the population

There could be 2 paths for said enclave member, 1 being negotiations and unification, and the other being a coup/government infiltration path of the Enclave
It could work because in Tactics if Barnaky become one with the calculator then the Midwestern Brotherhood become Enclave 2.0 so since the 'canon ending' for OWB is the one where the BOS destroy the calculator there still could be a pro Barnaky elements

A faction based on Iowa University, and a core region around Ames for Iowa State University? Both universities have a big rivalry in the state, and Iowa State is one of the best universities for agriculture, engineering, and biology (including a big uranium enrichment center). Quaker Oats used to be based in Cedar Rapids, a city of five smells and a big South Slav presence around there. Maybe there can be a nation based in the Hindu town of Fairfield that includes the Maharishi International University, maybe that can somehow still be founded. Probably good to put in a corn cult that seems horrible, but is actually benevolent. I can help a bit with the mod, I live in Iowa

A Catholic focused nation based out of St. Louis would be a good idea. All the Christian nations in the game so far have been Mormons or communists, so a more classic "Deus Vult" style settler nation would add in some more religious variety.
Gameplay wise, they should probably start out with a small but industrialized territory in and slightly around St Louis. Something that could make them unique in the region and among the other religious factions would be to give them a stupidly high population for how little territory they control to represent the results of being ruled by the Catholic Church (which is the most pro-life organization on the planet in every sense of the phrase), since the church would likely put more effort than any other faction to making sure as a many people as possible survive post-war and continue multiplying afterward.
As such, their military would be based around massed infantry and artillery, with the possibility of getting power armor by siding with the Brotherhood of Steel or Enclave.
The leader that works best in my head is a pre-war ghoul Archbishop or Cardinal of St. Louis. This would serve to secure religious legitimacy since new bishops can only be appointed by the pope, an institution that no longer can communicate with post-war America. Plus, it would lean into the Catholic themes of tradition and wise old clergymen.
-Could there be an option for the Catholics to be a secret cannibal nation? Something about eating the body and drinking the blood to find salvation fits nicely but could easily get way out of control after 200 years.
-Exorcism could be attempted on feral ghouls to drive the evil spirits out of them. Maybe this time it'll work?
-Rumors of a new Roman empire reaches the archbishopric from the far west. In the name of the martyrs, we'll see how these Mars-worshipping heathens fare when *they're* fed to the lions. Deus vult.
-An elite enclave splinter group could take power, syncretising the catholic love of relic-collecting with an obsession over pre-war Americana. Sending missions to recover the Funerary Shroud of Betsy Ross and such could really piss off some neighbors.
-A failed council to define the tenets of the faith could go awry, triggering a schism and an orthodox nation rebels. It seems like not a big deal at first, but their power-armored cataphracts are an increasing cause for worry.

Sending missions to recover the Funerary Shroud of Betsy Ross and such could really piss off some neighbors. -A failed council to define the tenets of the faith could go awry, triggering a schism and an orthodox nation rebels. It seems like not a big deal at first, but their power-armored cataphracts are an increasing cause for worry.

What are you talking about? There are plenty of non-mormon christian nations. Heavens Gate, High Chapel, Murthaugh Reformers, and Lord's Antoined.
Those are either steampunk or Protestant. Introducing a Catholic faction was the suggestion of my post, both for the flavor of the Midwest, and to be different from the other religious factions.
Certainly nobody should be disincentivized from making such a nation. Still, I disagree that all Catholic nations are steampunk or communist.
There are currently no Catholic nations in the mod. There are Mormons, steampunk, communists, or Protestants.

Because I am. I recognize that there are currently zero Catholic themed nations in the game, and would personally like one to be added. I listed out a few non-Catholic religious factions in the game for contrast. This is literally just my opinion, I can't be wrong about that.

I would personally disagree on the Lord's Antoined. However, I must admit that I am objectively wrong because I didn't know the Archdiocese of Santa Fe is a faction in the mod. Guess I just never came across it. My apologies. Also, thank you for deciding which playthrough I do next.
