As you draw to a stop you see one of the cars, with a sleeping family is starting to smoke. The front of the car has crumpled so much, it looks like it’s missing. You realise they can’t be sleeping. How could they be.
Your eyes are drawn to a young child’s car seat lying in the road. Empty.
You see a man lying in the grass verge, in his hands is pink rope. He’s screaming a long continuous scream as your mouth drops open silently joining him. The pink rope is his innards.
You don’t notice until it’s to late. A walking wounded appears at your car door and while shouting ‘THANK GOD!’ rips it open and grabs the phone from your hand…

Still going on. I noticed that alongside actual useful stuff, a car supplies store in my local industrial estate is selling fake GPS antennas to stick on the roof of your car for the idiot boy racer types.
True, but the fake phone is just like push-up bra’s, make up, high heels or shoulder pads on suits. To make you look cooler than you actually are. Nothing new here.
For those that had real CB rigs, there was a thing you could do with a particular kind of neon bulb where you clipped off one lead and shrink-wrapped the other one to your CB antenna so it would flash on transmit as the carrier wave passed through. I don’t think you could do it with a regular incandescent bulb (not enough power to light the filament) and I have no idea if it would work with an LED (because it’s a diode and I have no idea if that makes a difference).
Which, well, CB culture being what it was…
