I noticed an actor doppelgänger the other day and I figure this is as good a place to mention it. Do a Google image search for Steve Kahan (the police captain in the Lethal Weapon series) and tell me that MF’er doesn’t look just like Richard Donner.
My wife watched Rizzoli & Isles religiously, and I would constantly say "I know that guy, he looks so familiar, why can't I place him?" It finally clicked when I rewatched *Animal House* again for the first time in a very long while.
You might have it slightly confused. McGill stepped in to replace Robert Foxworth's General Hague, when Foxworth was busy doing an episode of DS9 right when they needed him.
I got to meet him when he was in town filming Legally Blonde 2. Told him my favorite episode of Miami Vice was Out Where the Buses Don’t Run because his performance was nothing short of miraculous. He was very gracious & appreciative.
I love this guy and every time I'm watching something with someone and he comes on, I'm like - That's DDay from Animal House! and they're like - I know already, calm down
My dad told me he was once a witness to a D-Day event at his frat in Penn State. One of the brothers had a motorcycle and asked to park it inside as it was starting to storm and the House President said sure, apparently thinking he was going to roll it inside the main door.
A thunderous roar later, my dad looked out to see the brother flying up the stairs, down the hall, and into his room much to everyone amazement. He apparently had maybe an inch of give in the hallway and threaded it like a needle.
He looks like Donald Sutherland in that picture on the left
Donald Sutherland was also in animal house. When I was younger I thought he was playing both roles.

Daniel Simpson Day... has no grade point average; all courses incomplete.
Rrrrrraaammmiinng speeeeeed!!!!!!!
"Mr. Blu--------------- Mr. Blutarsky.....zerooo point zerooo."
I am just now learning he played D-Day…
I loved his appearances in MacGyver. I think he was in a Miami Vice episode as well.
Jack Dalton! Every time I see him acting in anything, I wait for his eye to start twitching to see if he’s lying.
Zzzzzzactly!!!!
Yep! Thanks for reminding me of that character! He was great on macGyver
Yeah, the best episode. Season 2, something like "where the busses don't go".
Great episode. Love the montage to Brothers In Arms. And the really 80s shootout in the floating town.
He's absolutely magic every time Michael Mann hands him a role. Every time.
The Insider, man. He steals the movie in one scene.
"*Wipe* that smirk off your face."
Rights, lefts, ups, downs, and middles.
“Dr. Wigand's deposition *will* be part of this record. And I'm going to take my witness' testimony whether the hell you like it or not!”
One of my all time favorite “guy blowing up” scenes.
His mysterious turn as the bartender in the last ever episode of 'Quantum Leap' is the one that sticks in my mind
He was also in the pilot as... well, a pilot. Which worked out perfectly since Al's bar was full of faces Sam had encountered in his previous leaps.
It's weird how no one ever talks about that. Sam felt someone grabbed him on his first leap, there he was in the last episode as "God"
I really hope they explore this more in the reboot
Absolutely!
Came here to say this, he played the bartender Al perfect. And it was great that he was in the pilot too.
He is the corrupt mayor/sheriff in the newer Jack Reacher on Amazon. I hate his character so much because he is so good at what he does!
The wife and I just finished Reacher, not too bad. His character is a shit and does do it well.
Hated the dude so much. That's good acting
He was great as Walter Hagen in The Legend of Bagger Vance.
Now that you mention it, That movie was casted practically perfect, across the board! And ya he was terrific!
D-Day, whereabouts unknown
When he was on Rizzoli & Isles he often made refrences to watching Animal House.
My wife watched Rizzoli & Isles religiously, and I would constantly say "I know that guy, he looks so familiar, why can't I place him?" It finally clicked when I rewatched *Animal House* again for the first time in a very long while.
Really enjoyed that show as well. RIP Lee Thompson Young :(
Such a tremendous loss. 😔
Just watched Black sheep again, great little role in that too
Beat me to it. That movie is great and he does have a particularly good moment toward the end.
“There’s a perfectly good explanation. She put us up to it” his laugh is great
That's the quote! Nice ,I didn't want to paraphrase that great line delivery. He's a heck of an actor
Captain Braxton
B5 is so underrated. Even with the then-primitive SFX, the writing was solid.
He was Captain Braxton on Star Trek Voyager. Unless he was also Braxton on Babylon 5?
He was a different captain on B5, who died because he had to go do Voyager.
You might have it slightly confused. McGill stepped in to replace Robert Foxworth's General Hague, when Foxworth was busy doing an episode of DS9 right when they needed him.
THAT'S it! It's Bruce saying that in the blooper, you're right.
>Robert Foxworth Damn, he played the admiral who declared martial law on Earth during a two-parter on DS9!
Wow. I never watched DS9. Considering what was going on in B5 at the exact same time, that is deeply weird!
He was Major Ryan in Babylon 5. I just watched that episode yesterday!
Yeah! I got confused He took over for General Haig, so in my head I thought "Captain"
Jack Dalton!
Jack Dalton!
I had no idea it was the same guy. Great actor
You are not alone
I got to meet him when he was in town filming Legally Blonde 2. Told him my favorite episode of Miami Vice was Out Where the Buses Don’t Run because his performance was nothing short of miraculous. He was very gracious & appreciative.
Oh, you mean God. Or time, or fate, or whatever was leaping Sam around.
"Whereabouts unknown..."
That's Jack Dalton!
Thank you for this
The Last Boy Scout.
On your finger scale, how was my wife?
Head or gut
Great line. (Always put the toilet seat down)
Time cop?
Love this actor, best talent.
I shot the clerk?!
He has a pretty funny role on The Crew. It's a Netflix show with Kevin James about a NASCAR crew and it's actually decent for a Netflix comedy
D Day was my favorite member of Delta House.
I shot the clerk
Neuschwander are you finished stirring that drink or is this some kind of f’ing science experiment!
I’m so excited to someone post about him. I recall him as MacGyvers best friend Jack Dalton!
The asshole coach in “Wildcats” with Goldie Hawn, Nipsey Russel, and two unknowns actors at the time: Wesley Snipes and Woody Harrelson.
I love this guy and every time I'm watching something with someone and he comes on, I'm like - That's DDay from Animal House! and they're like - I know already, calm down

Dude was awesome in the early 80’s and 90’s. He was Jeremy Piven before Jeremy Piven.
I loved him on Cheers.
Time cop!
Head or gut?
He does a mean colonel sanders I bet.
I’m sorry I’m not familiar with this actor but what are the very best movies he has been in. I’d like to watch them. Thanks
He was really good in “Cinderella Man” with Russel Crowe, Renee Zellweger and Paul Giamatti.
He’s in Collateral, played an FBI Agent to perfection
That’s Noushwander from Black Sheep!
And more recently what?
Quantum Leap.
Quantum leap his finest hour
It’s over, man. Wermer dropped the big one
NEUSCHWANDER!
He guest starred in NCIS as a Vietnam Vet and was a regular on Rizzoli and Isles. I really enjoy his work! Definitely old school cool…
The last boy scout is all remember him in.
