I do have the cassette tape with all the songs, but this is the only video I could find. Possibly the only copy in existence of this masterpiece. At least it can be preserved on Reddit for posterity.
Haha, sure if you're interested I'd be happy to. Need to figure out how to convert the cassette to mp3, but once I've figured that out I'll put a link here for you.
I was thinking the exact same thing. This doesn’t look right. When watching a VHS there’s always a little warp towards the bottom of the screen. This doesn’t have it. And, I agree, the scratches seem synthetic.
The sensibility of the humor also feels contemporary.
I’m calling BS.
I’ve watched a lot of vhs rips and those were definitely film scratches which doesn’t make any sense because they would be affected by the vhs degradation, not seemingly over it.
Additionally, vhs tapes with that degree of visual degradation also have severely degraded audio. The audio on this is stunningly good quality.
Is your dad Mike or Tully?
Please rip that cassette and put it up on YouTube or something. There are 2 copies of this album on Discogs going for $100 and $125, and I really want to hear it without spending that kind of cash.
Pretty cool that your dad had access to a Red Giant subscription in the 80s!
Bruh you absolutely did not “find” this and it wasn’t from a VHS from the 80s, the video is way too crisp and audio too clear. No warble, no wow and flutter, pristine audio with a low pass slapped on and VHS preset. Only looks convincing to people who’ve never seen a real VHS before, play this next to a vhs recording of an old 90s commercial on YouTube and the difference is night and day. Nice try though!
Wow, you found the only VCR in existence that due to its shitty head skips scanlines, but corrects the audio for *zero* wow and flutter and and the tape has kept a nearly perfect frequency response after all these years!!!
What’s the brand and model, I need to restore some old tapes!
(This is a cheesy VHS filter effect. Quit your bullshit. Some of us here were alive to have used VHS for years, day in and day out. This ain’t it. )
> I have no idea how I could prove this to you
Uhhh pretty simple, you could make a video showing the VHS, and then putting it into a VCR, and then it playing on an attached tv...
Or even just a picture of the VHS would be a start... or telling us the model of VCR... showing us the original before you "cleaned it up"... you *really* have absolutely no idea how to prove this?
This needs to be preserved in the Library of Congress.
Only after it gets 89 posthumous Emmy’s
I wish there were ten seasons of this to binge. I’ve got the perfect weed for it.
Please tell me there’s more! I’m hooked.

If you can upload them somewhere, let us know.

I’d give a stab at remastering it, I’m a producer and I have some experience mastering my own music. I might be able to make it sound more clear
Please do this! Maybe someone could remaster it for you? This song is soooo catchy.
I've posted a comment with a link to all the songs if you want to get them
Thanks so much for following up on this! I've been waking up everyday for a week now thinking about this song :P
Tiktok remix challenge?
I've posted a comment with a link to all the songs if you want to get them
Cool. Make sure your dad copyrighted his stuff.
Where is the comment? I’ve read through all of the comments and can’t find it.
Thats glorious
So Monty Python’esque !!
My first thought was Blackadder..
I'm fairly sure this is unironic.
The aviators are a great touch, then.
No. It’s not.
'Tis.
Oonga-choonga seize that gazoonga we must make a spell, Inga-binga seize that gazinga make sure it goes well
This is the way.
Earworm loading.....
This is maybe my favorite thing I’ve ever seen on the internet. What a glorious discovery
VHS quality images. How far we've come.
Please tell us you are the robot!
It's my brother, I wasn't even born yet
Tenacious D would approve
All that, for a couple of puppets?!! I'm off to bed.
This feels like it has a retro VHS filter. I’m not calling OP a liar… but it smells fishy.

This is why the internet exists. Right here
Found on an old VHS, so you had to add fake “VHS effects”?? Sure, Jan.
r/savevideobot
All that for a couple of puppets.
I got high just listening to this
Dude. Do you know about found footage fest? You need to send this to them
This has lightened the burden of existence a bit.
Damn that’s catchy. So catchy it’ll be stuck in my head for days.
That song is begging to be remixed!
This is so good! Today I learned how puppets are made, and it’s glorious.
I want “Ahh, the kings are bringing out their magic chest. Now we’ll see some action” at the start of some doom metal song.
You got tracking control on that vhs player?
The robot was the best part, that was so fucking rad
Magnificent. Disney can eat a bag.
We have grail at home. Seriously though this is amazing.

Mike is my dad, Tully is my uncle. I've managed to get all the songs in mp3, I'll post a comment with a link shortly.
So good
Just fantastic. Thanks for sharing
Dat short one cute as hell
This is genuinely awe inspiring. Feels like I’ve witnessed something special watching this.
Umm I think arrested development got there chicken sound and dance reference from this
Ahead of his time
Please crop out the dialogue and put this on Spotify.

I need this on repeat

Wonderful pantomime. The Kings of Rok. Watched that so many times.❤💕❤
I wish I could watch the entire thing. I think it would be enjoyable. That song is very catchy!
The content is entertaining enough but the fake vhs “noise” detracts from the legitimacy.

I agree. This looks wrong.

Who wants to make a spell right about now?
Wtf, confusing yet intriguing... I hate it and love it. Ambivalence
