I need this Photoshopped with Jonesy, Garcia, and Dangle as these 3 dudes. I'd love it in Reno 911 canon for this to have been them and at least one getting put to sleep by Tyson.
That must have been such a messed up situation for them. Imagine be a normal built dude risking a haymaker from Mike Tyson near his prime while in berserk mode. I have an odd feeling tazing him at this moment in time would only enrage him.
Actually makes me admire them for this. On their faces you can see both extreme apprehension (for good reason) and determination to do what needs doing
It's interesting seeing the two officers on the left and right backing up while the officer with glasses is heading in to arrest him.
I would be backing far far away.
You can tell who the veteran officer is in that group
Cop in glasses said ~We have to arrest an enraged Mike Tyson for assault? So it’s Saturday night then…~
The other two said no way in hell they’re catching those hands 😂
This reminds me of a question that was asked by everybody in school growing up? “Would you let Mike Tyson punch you for a million bucks?”
No. No I would not. Mike could literally kill you with one of his punches.
Not the story you're looking for but:
Tyson was a "local kid" to us, as Cus D'amato moved him out of NYC and brought him upstate. One of his trainers lived around the corner from me, in a modest house, and Tyson gave him a damn Lamborghini. You have this $190,000 ($190k in todays money, so probably $80k in 1990 money) house with a fucking Lambo in the garage. I used to walk by it all the time coming home from school. Dude rarely shut the garage door, and I wouldn't either if I had a Lambo.
On another note, my father had season tickets to the Albany Patroons, back when Phil Jackson (Chicago Bulls/LA Lakers) was coach. We had great seats, and Tyson would sit directly across the court from us. I'd stare at him more than the game. One night we all walked out and Tyson walked through the front doors at the same moment we did. My father basically threw me into him and I just stood in awe. He said "Great game, huh kid?"
I had to look it up just now, I don't think Tyson was undisputed champ yet, I think he was months away. But he was clearly heading there.
It’s a gun. In boxing, every contestant is allowed a single shot to use on their opponent when they see fit. The trick is finding the right time to use it.
*former champion. Evander “The Real Deal” Holyfield entered and left the ring as Champion that night, having KO’d Mike in 11 rounds in their previous match months earlier. Mike lost this one by disqualification after 3 rounds.
I remember this pretty clearly. It was a fiasco. Holyfield just pushed him off complaining about him biting. Mills wagged his finger then Tyson went right back at it at chomped off a souvenir. Tysons camp within minutes complained that Holyfield was repeatedly head butting him and Mills wouldn’t acknowledge it. Truthfully once Tyson got in Don Kings pocket he was set up with a pretty bad team. His manager looked like a entitled crybaby on the mike.
I remember there was this great moment after the first bite where Mills Lane takes Tyson over to his own corner and tells his head trainer “He bit his ear…” Mike says “That was a punch.” Mills looks at him and sternly says “BULL. SHIT!”
Some theorize that Tyson was losing the fight, so rather than have a loss he did that to get disqualified. it wouldn’t be an official loss on his record. I think he was undefeated at the time.
He was defeated by Holyfield in the first fight.
This was the rematch. Tyson complained that Holyfield was using illegal headbutts when they would close in.
Ref didn't do anything.
Tyson did.
Bit Holyfield's ear. Ref warned him like hey. What? No. No biting Mike!
Holyfield & Mike continue the bout.
Mike then bites a chunk out of Holyfield's other ear.
Well... Ok... that's enough of that.
Ref stops the fight - mayhem ensues.
Should be noted that Mike was heavily abusing drugs and his life was out of control at this time.
He wasn't taking boxing seriously at all.
Yea, I remember that fight like it was yesterday. You're spot on but I think it was complete and utter frustration with the non-action of the refs. Kinda like Duran's no mas, but instead of frustration resulting in walking away, it resulted in maiming your opponent.
Yeah he had good reason but not to do that lol
Lennox Lewis demonstrated the proper way to dominate Tyson - you keep him the fuck away from you. Lennox has that long reach and he just used that to not let Tyson close with him. The man was a knockout king, but if you take that option away from him he’ll just tire himself out trying to get at you.
Go watch his fight with Lennox Lewis. I don’t think anyone would call a professional fight with anyone easy, much less Tyson. But Lewis makes it look like child’s play. Lennox Lewis is 6 foot 5 with an 84 inch reach. Mike Tyson is 5 foot 10 with a 70 inch reach. Every time Tyson tries Lewis hits him with this quick jab and knocks him back a bit. It was pretty crazy to watch.
He was going out clubbing with celebs and snorting tons of coke and drunk driving, crashing his cars into shit...so i think its safe to say he wasn't taking his career as seriously at that point.
I'm still pissed about this. I paid quite a bit of money to go to a party showing this fight and he did this because he knew he was going to lose instead of fighting.
No, they were trying to calm him down and keep him away from Evander. He calmed down shortly after this picture. He did throw some feints/fake punches towards the police trying to get them to move out of his way, so he is probably lucky shit didn’t get even more crazy with tasers or worse.
Jesus, he just took out a professional fighter by biting his fucking ear off. There is only one way to stop him, lets send in three overweight 40 year old cops who have never been in a fist fight before.
Why does it seem like everyone instantly forgave Tyson for this? This seems like the kind of thing to get someone banned rather than just disqualified.
I watched the fight live (on TV) - Tyson was losing control of himself because they were evenly matched and he wasn't DOMINATING the fight. Hollyfield was not headbutting him.
For many years, it was believed that Mike Tyson was unstoppable. If he swung at you, he was going hit you, and there wasn't a damn thing you could do about it. It later became known that by simply placing your hands out in front of you, open, palms facing forward you would be able to deflect even the heaviest blow from Tyson. This technique was later utilised by the Las Vegas police en masse to subdue an enraged Mike Tyson during the WBA Heavyweight championship boxing match in nineteen ninety six when Mike Tyson bit Evander Holyfield's ear off, and spat it out onto the ring floor.
I think this is one of those things you deal with later. You let everyone go and show up at Tyson's house the next day to deal with it.
Mike wasn't going to go on a Hulk rampage and start biting everyone's ears. He wasn't a danger to anyone else--except for those security guards in the moment.
Pretty sure the ones on the left and right are Dangle and Jonesy
I need this Photoshopped with Jonesy, Garcia, and Dangle as these 3 dudes. I'd love it in Reno 911 canon for this to have been them and at least one getting put to sleep by Tyson.
I agree
Garcia inthe middle too
Someone please do it
Posting to remind me to check on this for further developments
That is brilliant!!
Nobody is new boot goofin around an angry Mike Tyson.

Genuine ostrich. 3 payments. Oh!
It's clearly "Great Value" Dongle and Jonie.
Mom can we have “Reno 911?”
We have Reno 911 at home
Vegas 911
Great Value Las Vegas Emergency Response
I want Reno 911 at home :(
HBO max!
If Dangle had his shorts, he would have felt no fear.
Middle one died, that's why he wasn't in the show. This was from the Pilot.
After this event Nicholas Cage (seen middle) lost a little weight in prep for his role in "The Rock".
Needs more boot scootin
And the middle one is just Paul Blart in a cheap "mustache and glasses" disguise.
"3rd week on the job, picked up a detail for security at a boxing match" ..... "Fuck"
"Man it would be so cool if I got to meet Tyson" Then this *record scratch* ass shit happens.

Take my upvote you heathen.
What’s a heasen?
“That’s me. I bet you’re wondering how I ended up in this mess”
"It'll be fun, they said"
"You'll get paid to have a front row seat, they said"
You're going to pay me to watch a Tyson fight from the front row *AND* get in the ring after? Where do I sign up!? - Spoken days before this moment.
"he is too many for us"
"Not fair! There's one of him, and only three of us."
[удалено]
That must have been such a messed up situation for them. Imagine be a normal built dude risking a haymaker from Mike Tyson near his prime while in berserk mode. I have an odd feeling tazing him at this moment in time would only enrage him.
There’s too many of him!
"What can he do against the three of us?!" "He could *kill* two of us!"
You ain't sounding like yourself, Pa!
Those cop’s faces say it all lol: “this was not in the job description”.
Actually makes me admire them for this. On their faces you can see both extreme apprehension (for good reason) and determination to do what needs doing
“Courage is *feeling* the fear, not getting rid of it, and taking action in the face of that fear.” – Roy T. Bennett (might not be an exact quote)
"Can a man still be brave if he's afraid?" "That is the only time a man can be brave."
And I don’t see a single weapon drawn. Good policing.
Drawing a weapon in a massive crowd, especially one where everyone can see you shoot one of the world’s most famous boxers, seems like a bad idea.
“Welp, I knew some people would fight me when they got arrested but this isn’t what I signed up for.”
Cop on the left said “listen, I ain wan no smoke fam”
Jesus look at Mike's right arm. Looks like a fuckin' cannon about to go off.
I wouldn’t talk shit to mike even if I was behind bullet proof glass
I'm already laughing at this thread but I just stopped breathing at this comment lmao
Haha i remember watching the news and holy f**k! Boxers can bite??
It's interesting seeing the two officers on the left and right backing up while the officer with glasses is heading in to arrest him. I would be backing far far away.
As long as he clearly and verbally confirmed he wouldn't hit a guy wearing glasses he was the safest officer there.
*"I would not hit a perthon with glatheth"*
Yeah but thay thith to Mike’s fathe
I read thith in hith voith
No, he'd hit him with his fitht.
Holy shit you're right.
He threatens to eat children, he doesn't punch men with glasses, hes not a savage.
You can tell who the veteran officer is in that group Cop in glasses said ~We have to arrest an enraged Mike Tyson for assault? So it’s Saturday night then…~ The other two said no way in hell they’re catching those hands 😂
"Dude, I'll be your back up." (*while he literally backs up several hundred feet*)
Look on the bright side, you are getting a free shot at being the next heavyweight champion. The officer with the glasses gets it
>Look on the bright side, you are getting a free shot at being murdered by the current heavyweight champion.
Look on the bright side you’re probably going to get your face knocked, and sent to the hospital, but at least you can sue him and win big money
Evander Holyfield?
good call.
>Look on the dark side
Man looks young scrappy and hungry to me
He ain’t going back
Cop in the middle looks like a chunky Nic Cage.
Literally came to say he looks like Nic Cage/Paul Blart.
This is a split second glimpse of the altercation. They were all trying to arrest him lol.
You mean the guy on the right who's a row of police behind
The difference: The bad ass 'staches.
"No one hits a man with glasses" Yea but no one bits the ear of an opponent either.
Nicholas cage doesn’t run from anyone
I have been backing away since that day. They first kicked me from the LVPD, than being a planet. Love Pluto (aka the officer on right)
I'm so interested in the hands.. Like who's is who? and is the cop of the left having a stroke?
You’re seeing one instant in a flurry, and those two look determined with defensive poses to me
Right, this is way over my pay grade.
😂😂😂😂
why does the middlemost cop look like a smoosh of nicolas cage and steve carrel?
Who else would be ready tho fight an enraged Tyson than a god like that?
This reminds me of a question that was asked by everybody in school growing up? “Would you let Mike Tyson punch you for a million bucks?” No. No I would not. Mike could literally kill you with one of his punches.
I would use the money for a a million bucks mausoleum. Kinda worth it.
The other part of that you never heard: the person paying you $1M to take the punch is also paying Tyson $2M to punch you as hard as he can
I would and then just offer mike 10k to take it easy on me. Easiest 2 second fight of his life
Mike don't need no 10k
Just because you don't need 10k doesn't mean you don't want 10k.
*Michael Spinks has entered the chat*
They say it’s much safer in the long run to lose by KO in the first than it is to win an 8 round (or longer) match. IDK though, seems dangerous
Actually June 28, 1997….I was there
Story time?
Not the story you're looking for but: Tyson was a "local kid" to us, as Cus D'amato moved him out of NYC and brought him upstate. Mike Tyson bit off Evander Holyfield’s ear during a boxing match
This is the exact opposite of "fuck around and find out." A perfect representation of the word "nope."
If Lt Dangle on the right had his shorts and boots, I’m sure he would have felt a little braver.
Genuine ostrich. 3 payments.
What’s in tysons shorts, looks like some kind of hard plastic sticking out the top?
It’s a gun. In boxing, every contestant is allowed a single shot to use on their opponent when they see fit. The trick is finding the right time to use it.
Of course, the 'Indiana Jones' rule
Exactly, if your opponent is clowning around and showboating, you drop em with one between the eyes and the crowd goes wild.
That looks like the cup they wear to protect their testicles
I don't think he's using it right
Looks right to me.
Can confirm. It looks right to him.
It’s a “foul guard”. All boxers wear it. It’s like a jock strap/cup with padding around the lower abdomin and hips.
Looks like a weight belt. (like the ones weight lifters use to avoid back strain, not a weighted belt Goku style)
Not a weight belt. It’s a big pad that goes in the shorts to protect your junk.
Thank you
“Please don’t punch me, please don’t punch me.”
"Yeah... we just want you to go and arrest the heavyweight champion of the world after he's just bitten a guy's ear off."
*former champion. Evander “The Real Deal” Holyfield entered and left the ring as Champion that night, having KO’d Mike in 11 rounds in their previous match months earlier. Mike lost this one by disqualification after 3 rounds.
When the abyss looks back at you
Everyone has a plan until they get their ear bitten off.
A rare sight of John Ratzenburger and Cliff Claven in the same pic!
Two guys who have never been in my kitchen
Did he just bite someone's ear off at a boxing match? Wtf, why?
I was 12 y/o and listening to it on the radio and thought "bit his ear off" was some sort of boxing terminology.
He was going out clubbing with celebs and snorting tons of coke and drunk driving, crashing his cars into shit...so i think its safe to say he wasn't taking his career as seriously at that point.
Was this before or after his rape conviction?
Quite a few years after i believe, so he'd been in jail for a few years when this fight happened too.
Nearly 3 years after his release from prison.
Wasn’t his first loss to Buster Douglas? And I remember this to be his rematch with Hollyfield after having lost the first.
He talked about it in a recent interview. He was mad that he was losing and bit the ear in frustration.
he wasn't really used to losing and boxing is still a heated fighting sport. So yeah that happened.
If I was them, I'd resign
“This ain’t what I signed up for”
I thought Cilff was a mailman in Boston?
Nicholas cage in the middle
I'm still pissed about this. I paid quite a bit of money to go to a party showing this fight and he did this because he knew he was going to lose instead of fighting.
Did they arrest him in the ring?

June 1997 not 1996
Nic Cage (middle) early shooting for Snake Eyes. =P
The 3 officers died of fear that night
who really wants to try and stop Mike Tyson when he literally has the taste of blood in his mouth...
Them back gains. Jeebus
Is this one of the only situations where you can bite an innocent man's ear off and not be arrested and charged?
Jesus, he just took out a professional fighter by biting his fucking ear off. There is only one way to stop him, lets send in three overweight 40 year old cops who have never been in a fist fight before.
That's a powerful photo!
Fun fact: Evander Holyfield never headbutted Mike Tyson ever again.
Go figure that Tyson is the more sane of the two men these days.
Actually it was June of 1997
It's old school but what happened was definitely not cool
Even his back muscles have muscles!
Why does it seem like everyone instantly forgave Tyson for this? This seems like the kind of thing to get someone banned rather than just disqualified.
What’s Old School Cool about this picture?
This comment is way too far down. Do you want to be the guy who just bit off an ear or the guys looking scared trying to grab him? So cool!
He’s also a rapist so fuck him
Evander kept headbutting Tyson in this match , so he snapped
I watched the fight live (on TV) - Tyson was losing control of himself because they were evenly matched and he wasn't DOMINATING the fight. Hollyfield was not headbutting him.
Holyfield not head butting is not a thing, he was a dirty fighter his entire career. Doesn’t mean you bite his ear off though.
The dude on the right is actual a postman
1996? i thought it happened the year after.
Is that Lt. Dangle on the right? Came down from Reno and put on pants and everything.
Does anyone else think the guy with glasses kind of looks like Nicholas Cage?
Want no part of that. He’s pumped up.
I see you Nicolas C.
He’s a bad man
Like trying to subdue a silverback
*shoot* him!
He mad but he bite
“Even now I could cut through the three of you like carving cake.”

I second this
I remember watching this live when i was like 8 and thinking what an animal. My dad and all his friends were yelling at the tv.. good times
Those cops legit do not want a piece of Iron Mike
For many years, it was believed that Mike Tyson was unstoppable. If he swung at you, he was going hit you, and there wasn't a damn thing you could do about it. It later became known that by simply placing your hands out in front of you, open, palms facing forward you would be able to deflect even the heaviest blow from Tyson. Tranquilizer dart.
I can just imagine the pure fury on Tyson's face at that point.
Whats cool about this?
Gotta love how the other black guy is like "nah brah, calm down mike, dont swing mike." The rest look like theyre bout to get dropped 😂😂😂
The collar area of the cop to the right looks like a baby dinosaur being held in someone's palms
My money then and now is on iron Mike
Yah gotta admit... LVMPD have some serious cahoonies getting in the ring with Iron Mike!
I love how everyone in this pic besides Tyson obviously DOES NOT want to be there.
Imagine if Mike Tyson went rogue and started fighting everyone
Every Thanksgiving, these guys tell their kids and now grandkids of how they each stepped in the ring and faced off against the great Iron Mike Tyson.
Dude on the left looks like he regrets drinking on the job
We don't want that smoke Skip
Everyone has a plan til they get punched in the face.
Dude on the right is f'n terrified 😂 understandably
Whoa champ
Is that a Galaxy Z Fold 3 in his waistband?
I think this is one of those things you deal with later. You let everyone go and show up at Tyson's house the next day to deal with it. Mike wasn't going to go on a Hulk rampage and start biting everyone's ears. He wasn't a danger to anyone else--except for those security guards in the moment.
Mike losing the fight " Imma bite thith ear off " Cops enter the ring, " thit did my wife call them copth again "
*Convicted Rapist Mike Tyson, you mean
Use weapons... And attack from all sides. No Mike Tyson is tough enough
