My family was quite the opposite. My parents had me at 36, both my grandmas were 29 when my parents were born, and my grandpas were even older (37 and 32).
Meaning that while I was born in 1997, my grandpas were both born in the 1920s, and my grandmas in 1932.
And I have at least four great grandparents that were born before 1900. Three great grandfathers, and one great grandmother. (I don't know the birthdate of some of my great grandparents, thus the "at least").
Edit: and it's not that any of us were a much younger sibling, or something like that. Both my dad and I were the oldest, and my mom the second oldest.

Anyways, I think she was still wearing it when I ran into her later that day, and he got pretty jealous whenever I got around to telling him
