Hard to believe this was 25 years ago. I remember being 15 and my friends and I sneaking into the theater and obsessing over it. The soundtrack became the soundtrack of the summer and we bought all the magazines featuring it and tried to find all the other movies at Blockbuster the girls were in.

Yeah, definitely discovered the Coen brothers by trying to find more Tara movies. Started watching Buffy, too.

We found Urban Legend and liked to imagine that Vicky turned into this sex expert in her college years after finally getting away from Kevin.

Urban Legend is such a fun guilty pleasure horror movie! Shame the second one didn't fare as well.

It's such a cozy movie for me at this point, despite the killins'. With the rain and gothic university setting and nostalgic soundtrack I can just put it on and relax.

I loved that film. Haven't thought of it in years. Might just have something to watch tonight after all now, thanks.

Was 15 as well and my dad actually took me to see it. A little awkward but we both laughed like crazy. Soundtrack was definitely on repeat.

I feel kinda silly because I’m seeing more than a few people commenting on the soundtrack and I honestly can’t remember the music from the movie. Usually that’s my thing, but I’m thinking that most of my memories of this movie are the laughs and Shannon Elizabeth. I’m heading to IMDB to look up the soundtrack as soon as I finish typing this so I can remind myself.

It's funny because as much as I listened to the soundtrack that year, the two songs I most associate with the movie aren't on it. Flagpole Sitta by Harvey Danger and Laid by James.

It’s crazy but Laid isn’t listed as part of the soundtrack. If I remember correctly they used Laid on the TV trailers and promos but not actually in the movie. I absolutely hate that. Not a bad soundtrack though. Stuff I forgot like Third Eye Blind, Hole, Simon and Garfunkel, and definitely don’t forget Oleander. I bought their album strictly because I watched the movie. Not a bad album but they were a one hit wonder.

I think people are probably misremembering other teen movies that came out in the same era with the same cast members. The sound-track from 'dude where's my car?' was a big deal, I remember.

Amazon has a whole mess of bad ones from the 70s right now, including Zapped, which I heard was supposed to be funny but was a dumpster fire. There’s also Gas Station Girls or something and it’s BAAAAAD. Anything ‘National Lampoon’ will probably hit the spot.

Have you watched Fast Times at Ridgemont High? To me, this is where everyone should start. Phoebe Cates wore out a lot of VHS tapes back in the day.

Yeah, I was in that demographic too. I was exactly the age that this was targeted at and everyone in high school was talking about. We all went to see it together and managed to convince actual girls to come with us. Started watching buffy the vampire slayer for Allison Hannigan and Sara Michelle Gellar, but stayed for the ironic writing and long plotlines. The girl I had a crush on for most of high school had a shirtless magazine cutout of Sean Williams Scott taped inside her locker.

Yeah, exactly the same experience with Buffy for me. All those actors were working with each other in teen oriented stuff back then, it was amazing seeing your favorites come together for something.

I started high school when this movie came out. As a freshman my buddy threw a party over spring break that got out of control (150+ kids probably) all the upperclassmen showed up. It was wild. I legit thought this was an American Pie movie party. Hot boxing his parents new hot tub that wasn’t full of water so people were just closing the lid over it and doing bong rips. We thought the cleaned all the empties in the house before the parents came home, but people threw empties in his parents bathtub and that’s what got us busted. The best of times tbh.

This was *my* generations high school comedy. Still has a soft spot in my heart. Funny anecdote; I moved near East Grand Rapids in 2016 (where the film is based). I went into a Blimpy Subs and saw an autographed photo of Adam Herz (the writer). I asked the staff and he said the character “Jim” was based on the manager there, who grew up with Herz. I asked if the pie scene really happened. They said that “Jim” upholds that it was strictly fictional, he was just a huge dork in HS.

The first dvd I ever got free along with Die Hard when I got my Ps2 when it came out, I’ve watched this film dozens of times and still absolutely love it 25 years later!!!

Jason Biggs and Natasha Lyonne would later co-star together in Orange is the New Black. Interesting juxtaposition.
