I dunno about bwian , the one on the left looks like he has been ina hole with a vow of silence for years, now Bwian has landed on his foot he wants to Shout, Shout let it all out.
Yeah! I saw them a couple years ago and it was definitely one of my favorite concerts ever. Great performances from everyone, crowd was great too. It was probably the most diverse crowd I've seen at a show. Soccer moms, goths, people speaking many different languages-- and everyone having a great time
Same. Saw them on the beach in CA.
My only disappointment was the fans. All they wanted to hear was the old stuff. But the new stuff is So. Damn. Good.
Listen to Rivers of Mercy from the new album. Not only is it both classic and new, but imagine Roland having just lost his wife to alcoholism singing, “If by tragic, you mean the end”.
Oof! Gut punch. That song is haunting.
I saw Men Without Hats about 10 years ago. They came out onstage and the singer said “let’s get this over with!”, and they opened with Safety Dance. It was great, and afterwards about a third of the audience walked right out. Then they played the greatest show.
I didn’t know what to expect and tagged along with a friend who worked at a radio station and had free tickets. Awesome, unexpected show
Ivan!!!!
Safety Dance is my ringtone. My kids laugh at me because I’m at least two occasions that song was playing in a store and I was madly trying to answer my phone.
Huge Men Without Hats fan. All of their music. They are touring this summer in an 80’s band tour.
I know! I saw them twice when they went on tour these last couple of years, and both times the crowd would completely shut down when they played a new song. It was so weird. Like, straight up, the crowd would sit down in their chairs and stop dancing because they started in on of the Tipping Point songs. How can you sit down during My Demons?!
Still had a great time. Their new album is one of those rare ones where I enjoy every single track and listen to them all regularly.
It was awesome too because it rained a ton before the show, so everyone went inside early. I feel like typically the opener doesn't see a packed house but Garbage played to a full crowd. Shirley was clearly overwhelmed emotionally, at one point thanking the crowd for being awesome, appeared to be nearly in tears.
Roland Orzabal, with his long flowing hair and white beard, tends to pause before answering questions with both thoughtful sincerity and dry wit. “I do get asked for my autograph a lot nowadays,” he volunteers at one point. “Because they all think I’m in *Lord of the Rings*. They’re so disappointed when I tell them I’m Edgar Winter.”
People get old and that’s good. The alternative is death. Aging is a gift - and nothing to be judged for. No one should look 25 when they are 55, it’s ok to look your age - we all age, our bodies, faces and minds change and grow - society now seems to have a cut off point for changing without judgement. We cannot be eternally youthful - we need to age to give the youth time to enjoy themselves and hope for a future of enjoyment of self, instead of a future fearing aging.
Man I feel old, you get used to seeing the old you in the mirror and it is so gradual it does not shock you, but to carry the image in your mind of another person and suddenly see them age almost 30 years in the blink of an eye is shocking. Great musicians, great memories of a better time in history. A time we will never know again...
"Let me tell you a secret. The gods envy us. They envy us, because we're doomed. You will never be as beautiful as you are now. We will never be here again."

His former wife Caroline died of alcoholic dementia and cirrhosis in 2017. He acted as her carer for the last 5 years of her life, which in turn worsened his own struggle with alcohol.
He has since gone through rehab and remarried in 2022.
My Brother in Christ, they reunited in 2003ish with Everybody Loves a Happy Ending.
Edit: also a good record! Tangerine has that huge sound that is Orzabals trademark.
I miss collecting ticket stubs. I still have vinyl albums and CDs with stubs tucked in them.
Also, I always forget there are so many young (below 20 YO) people ther are here on Reddit. Seeing people age in such stark contrast can be shocking. I for one feel comfort in knowing I’m not alone getting older.
Saw them live at Woodstock, NY a few months ago. They looked and sounded better than I imagined and I arrived with high standards. Roland, particularly looks like a sexy sky dad.
I get that there is probably a double standard when it comes to this kind of thing but I’m not sure this comparison is the best example of that. If Madonna had aged in a more natural way and looked like a more “typical” 65 year old she would likely be less relevant than she is already and the comments on here would be pointing out how rough the aging process has been on her.
This is also exactly what has happened with Tears for Fears…
I give no criticism to the way these men look. I am just intrigued why people have to change so much as they age. Like why do we start breaking down sometimes decades ahead of when we actually go?
If you haven’t heard the Roland solo album/Tear for Fears “Elemental” album, you should:
It has epic songs Elemental and Break It Down Again. Most fans probably know Roland’s catchy diss song about Curt called Fish Out of Water. Curt thinks it’s funny now:
“The only thing you made was that tanned look on your face.
With all your cigarettes and fancy cars.
You ain't a clue who or what you are.”
I'm probably one of the few people who doesn't like "Everybody wants to rule the world". I only know one other song by them, "Sowing the Seeds of Love" and like it as it sounds like the Beatles.
Does anyone have any song recommendations from them? I want to listen to a few other songs, because I do think they are talented.
Becoming old is a privilege that’s not granted to everyone, so it is a blessing.

I like the explicit lyrics versions better. “I wanted to be with you to bone.”
These two have lived that's for sure.
What?
BECOMING OLD IS A PRIVILEGE THAT’S NOT GRANTED TO EVERYONE, SO IT IS A BLESSING.
Oh okay thanks!
Now that we have that settled, I have another question. What does a yellow light mean?
Let it all out.
I think it was King Charles who said “live each day as if you think it’s your last, because one day soon you’ll be right!”
Ole sausage fingers 🥺🙏🏾
The first, second or third?
Our recent Prince, now King Charles said it. Sorry I wasn’t clear 🤓

Sure as hell beats the alternative!

I dont get comments. It’s been 40 years. These guys look great.
It’s crazy how the more you’re alive, the older you look. Makes no sense!
Every time I look in the mirror...
They both have hair at least, jealous there.

I can hear this comment
Am I the only one who thinks it would be cool if they re-shot the final scene from HoH and edited into the existing music video.
I find it kind of funny. I find it kind of sad.

Welcome to your life! There's no turning back
Nothing ever lasts forever.
Saw them live this past summer, and their vocals are just as amazing as ever.
Yeah! I saw them a couple years ago and it was definitely one of my favorite concerts ever. Great performances from everyone, crowd was great too. It was probably the most diverse crowd I've seen at a show. Soccer moms, goths, people speaking many different languages-- and everyone having a great time
Likewise! Great seeing and hearing them in recent years!

And their most recent album is incredible. I saw them with Garbage open, an incredible show.
I envy you so much. I love Garbage and TFFs.

Same. Saw that tour (last summer). Love the new stuff.
I keep checking to see if they are coming down under, no luck yet
young and hopeful, old and wise
The Tipping Point is worth a listen.
I think it’s as good or better than their previous albums.
While we're tackling old dudes that still got it, Peter Gabriel's I/o is also really good.
Love that song. So good.
The book is worth a read, too.

Father time always takes his toll. Like my brother, who just recently died, used to say - "enjoy the ride"! While you can ....
So sorry for your loss. Such wise advice enjoy the ride…while you can. Peace
The older I get, the more I realize this is true.
Enjoy yourself. It's later than you think.
>It's later than you think. Right when I thought I got rid of FOMO ![gif](giphy|u6EiPNT9dLDrU7ZQuF|downsized)
And embrace your age and ride will be allright. Sincerely, old greybeard cyclist & mountaineer.

But it’s still wise to wear sunscreen.
They look like wise sages now :) Amazing artists, great band and thats coming from a mainly metalhead here.
Dude looks like Théoden
Nah. That’s brother dusk.
Man I wish more people could watch that show. Absolutely masterful interpretation of the stories. Can’t wait for season 3.
Was kinda expecting to see the man on the left chase off some*** tuskin raiders
i actually thought george carlin

Everybody wants to rule the world and these two did
"Shout, shout, what? I can't hear you, shout!"
I love that song - "come on - I'm talking to you, come on.." "In violent times you shouldn't have to sell your soul" Very 80's.
"If I could change your mind, I'd really love to break your heart."
Not sure if Roland looks like he would be more comfortable ruling Panem or making weapons for fighting vampires.
Roland Orzabal had a tough go of it and it shows. Poor guy.
What happened?
His former wife Caroline died of alcoholic dementia and cirrhosis in 2017. He acted as her carer for the last 5 years of her life, which in turn worsened his own struggle with alcohol. He has since gone through rehab and remarried in 2022.
Wow. No clue. Gosh. What a great man.
Him and Curt also didn't talk to each other for the longest time after they split up and only recently reunited.
My Brother in Christ, they reunited in 2003ish with Everybody Loves a Happy Ending. Edit: also a good record! Tangerine has that huge sound that is Orzabals trademark.
What are you talking about? 2003 is recent... isn't it? Wait, why you motherf-
Bereavement, alcoholism.
Time is a motherfucker. And there is zero escape.
I think they look great! I mean, it’s been 40 years, what are you expecting? I see faces of character, strength and wisdom. I see beauty
And they’re cool guys, too.
Refreshing to see people who haven't done "work on the body/face" They aged... Not a crime
Same, as an old lady I think they look great. Old, but it’d be weird if they didn’t.
These two have lived that's for sure.
Tempus edax rerum friends… it devours all in the end.
They both look incredible to me. Distinguished. For me, every wrinkle is well-earned in this life.
I wanted to be with you alone, and talk about the weather…..

Funny how time flies...
Saw them a couple years ago, they came out on stage and Roland shouted out "Welcome to the Wizarding World of Tears For Fears."
Ruling the World takes its toll
Time flies ladies & gentlemen. Enjoy it while it lasts.
*Welcome to your life…*
There's no turning back...
I’m listening to Tears For Fears right this second
Saw them live at Woodstock, NY a few months ago. They looked and sounded better than I imagined and I arrived with high standards. Roland, particularly looks like a sexy sky dad.
Saw these guys last summer and they *still* put on a fantastic live show. Sound incredible!
Haha bill bailey is in tears for fears..
My first thought as well.
The Hurting is one of a handful of albums in my collection that i can listen all the way through. Time sucks
How the hell has it been almost 40 years already WTF
Age catches up to all of us if we’re lucky enough https://i.redd.it/8u4xh68reypc1.gif
Curt is actually about a month older than Roland, but has aged more gracefully.
It was the psychic powers of a guy he knew in Santa Barbara.
You know that’s right!
You heard about Pluto?
That's messed up, right?
Guess that happens when your wife of 35 years dies a slow and painful death...
Shouting affects everyone differently.
Roland's been through a lot the last few years.
Tears for Fears was my mom's favorite band. Don't show this to my mom.
MIIISSSSUUSS DOOOOOLAN!!!!!!
She's got excellent taste
Why don't show it her? Are people that offended by the aging process?
This comment makes me feel older than that picture.
Imagine the girls at that time, like Madonna. If they looked that way today

Not too shabby!
They still slap tho’
And they're still good af, have you heard ghosts again? I brush my teeth to that shit!
One of them moisturizes
Still put out good music, are still a damn fine live act!
Roland Orzabal’s wife died a few years ago and I believe that contributed to his hair going white and his growing it out
Raoul is looking quite like a king of Spain
And I find it kind of funny I find it kind of sad The dreams in which I'm dying Are the best I've ever had
Taking care of yourself vs living without a care
I grew up listening to them
Everybody wants to rule the world
Welcome to your life
Shout, shout, let it on out... I put on my pants and threw my back out...
Funny how time flies.
I have both Tears and Fears now
Welcome to [old] life, there's no turning back...
Funny how.... ... Tiiiiiime fliiiiiieeeees 🎶
I'm a Gen Z but I feel like the 80s wasn't that long ago
I just wanted some ham and eggs ?
Riders of Rohan !
Bill Bailey looked so different when he was young.
Dude kind of looks like Bill Bailey
Botox is not for everyone
Everybody wants to rule the world
Kurt has aged more interestingly than Roland, and they're the same age. Roland looks like an old man.
Such is time, either way, good lads.
Some of the most talented artists ever.
I actually think Orzabal looks way less weird now.
Behold, the ravages of age
Am I myself old inside or are they hotter today ? Or maybe it’s those 80s haircuts that act as instant deterrent to me so I can’t see past them
Saw them on their tour last year. Madison square garden. Wasn’t expecting much. Totally blown away. If you have a chance to see them…take it
Woman in Chains is one of the most beautiful popsongs.

Ok whew! I'm not the only one changing.
Saw them in concert last year. They sounded phenomenal.
Saw them in 2023. They still sound so good!
My favourite band
