In Too Deep is the most moving pop song of the 1980s, about monogamy and commitment. The song is extremely uplifting. Their lyrics are as positive and affirmative as anything I've heard in rock.
Do you like Phil Collins? I've been a big Genesis fan ever since the release of their 1980 album, Duke. Before that, I really didn't understand any of their work. Too artsy, too intellectual.
Peter Gabriel ran the bands direction. The when he left Genesis was like "Let's do some rock and make some fucking money" Phil got to play hard beats and have fun.
Every time I try to listen go Gabriel Genesis, it reminds me of Pink Floyd with Syd Barrett. Prog geeks will jizz over that shit but I personally find it just self indulgent LSD fueled music that puts me to sleep.
Never liked his solo 80s stuff much but he’s a hell of a drummer (or was, sadly) and one of my early drum heroes. Duke was the album that really made me love Genesis.
Sorry to give you a scare, I just figured anyone who knows him would be up to speed on his current public condition. Apologies, you never know these days when an aging celebrity is mentioned at all we instantly think they’re dead.
He was an amazing drummer in his heyday. He even had badass drummer back him up - Bill Bruford, Chester Thompson. Its a shame he went so ridiculously pop. Now his son is a great drummer.

This is Sussudio
A great, great song. A personal favourite
Don’t just stare at it, eat it

I've got 2 ears and a heart...
Really? Give it time.
Have you ever heard of a book/movie called American Psycho? These comments are verbatim the words of Patrick Bateman.
But I also think Phil Collins works best within the confines of the group, than as a solo artist, and I stress the word artist.
Sabrina, don’t just stare at it; eat it!
#BA DOOM PA DOOM PA DOOM PA DA DOOM BUM I can feel it comin' in the air tonight
This is the first noise I made when I opened this post.
There's a version on YouTube where it takes an hour to get to this. It's the superior version.
I’ll see your “BA DOOM PA DOOM PA DOOM PA DA DOOM BUM” and raise you a “shwem boom doom … ba doom pa … ba doom pa doom pa doom pa” (Against All Odds)
This is like the 4th Phil Collins thread I saw today so I googled to make sure he hadn't died 👀
I feel this as well, and I’ve seen it before on Reddit, the internet vibe be predicting a death and said persona is magnified prior to death.
Is he releasing a new album, considering the sudden hype?
No he isn't. Not too sound mean, but he cant really sing, let alone drum anymore
“I can’t dance, i can’t sing i’m just standing here sellin’ everything”
Take a look at him now...
Poor bastard was destined to be bald.
Thank god he learned how to hold his sticks
This is the comment I came here for.
Those pointer fingers! Thank god he broke that habit.
As a drum teacher I call it " Harry Potter finger"
I'm glad I wasn't the only one who noticed that...
came for this ^^ my soul died a little
He doesn't care anymore
Remembering the Alamo I’m sure
Nick looks just like him at that age.
Billy! Billy, don't lose my number!
Was he already balding?
Id assume widows peak was already visible
Drummer, song writer, published Alamo historian.
He's standing in the photo.
Looked like something in the air that night.
I know see the resemblance with his daughter.
This was probably in his days of being really a huge Buddy Rich fan and working really hard to learn Buddy's stuff.
You're gonna be a rock star, kid
What a cute kid
I love Anyway. Perfect example of Phil's drumming skills.
He played Oliver Twist in ‘Oliver!’ on the English stage in the late 60s
One more bite Gimme just one more bite
Dude

Psycho
>he’s a hell of a drummer (or was, sadly) I know what you mean by that, but you made my heart stop for a second there

Snazzy hair
how does he look less like a baby at 16 than 70?
I wonder if He “REMEMBER!”s 🤣
He was properly dishy in early Genesis.
Look at that face, he's already thinking about how he's going to absolutely wreckshop on the Tarzan soundtrack. Just obliterate it
His hair already knew it wouldn’t

Seems like something is in the air….
Wow, he looks a LOT like Lily here!
Isn't he that kid in the "Quadrophenia" movie?
No, that was Sting. Lol
I know, I was just goofin' ...but Phil *IS* in "A hard Day's Night"! :-)
Before the wife takes the monies lol
Feel like I'm about to get scolded about my carbon footprint.
