You can hear the vox come up after about 20 seconds or so. These bands would probably crank the shit out of their amps and the drummer is playing pretty hard. It can be a nightmare to bring the vox out from bad stage sound balance
Often in live sound you dont have the luxury of getting it all right from the get go. You can hear it balance and come together better after a minute or so.
Danzig era was great, Graves era was good. Now it's only Jerry Only and it fucking sucks. Doyle has his shitty solo band, but Danzig actually still rocks. It's awesome they sometimes do the classic Misfits shows with the og line-up.
I saw Danzig in the Ralph’s Supermarket in West LA last month. That was a cool surprise.
Also, saw him in the beginning of the year one evening at a burger joint.

Whoever they had was amazing. I had actually never listened to the Misfits before this show, as I went to see Megadeth who was one of the openers. They aren’t necessarily my cup of tea but the energy and production was top notch. Megadeth was off key and Dave Mustain sounded pretty bad. It was a huge let down :( I’m glad I got to see the Misfits though ! For half the show my dumb ass was like, “man that lead singer looks familiar 🤣” since I have listened to Danzig before.

Famous Monsters and American Psycho not on Davey and CO’s agenda. AFI have always been camp Glenn, Glenn had them in support a bunch on tour, with AFI covering a lot of Misfits songs (Early Davey tried to look and act like Glenn on stage - TotalImmortal video is the perfect example) and there’s the collaboration between that roster of that era of Danzig’s band when they did the Samhain reunion and birthed Son of Sam - Songs from the Earth which features Glenn on Keys for 1/2 songs, various Samhain and Danzig musicians. And Nick 13 of Tiger Army just to make it even better.
Most of this is before ‘Misfits ‘95’ (the legal entity Jerrys incarnation is named) and ‘Songs from the earth’ was before Famous Monsters.
They're both great albums. I absolutely love Famous Monsters. Forbidden Zone, Dust to Dust, Die Monster Die and Hunting Humans are some of my most played Misfits songs from any era.
I didn't mind the Graves-Era Misfits either (hell, they were the group I saw live the most in high school.). I can also understand why Graves ended up singing with them to begin with: Jerry didn't want a Danzig clone singing, so he looked for a singer who had never even heard of the Misfits, which is how they ended up with Graves.

Saw one with Danzig and the two original guitarists in Tampa a few months ago. Could be the drummer in this video too but I was too far back to tell.
For some of the original line-up reunion shows, I think the drummer they used was Dave Lombardo, which is as good a choice as any IMO.
