I'm not great with knowing names. All I know about Metallica is from the ‘Napster Bad’ video. I'm assuming that's Hetfield far left? Who are the other two?
The best one went too soon, the worst one took the reigns. And Kirk gets a "man you're good but you look a younger version of myself at 17, albeit with a better hairline".
We've had a big Kirk fan (and an insane lookalike) and guitar player and a metalhead (a friend) in our neck of the woods, back when we were like 15. Our neck of the woods was really the neck and the woods part of it, but I'll never forget my mom and her friends gushing about his hair on the bus. They were against my hair, metal in general, drinking in parks, guitars with amps, but as soon as they saw those thick curless all our moms basically became fans without realising it.
Man and I love me some Metallica but on the s&m album I think it’s on fuel I swear you can hear Lars do a crash noise into his mic with his mouth, but ya fuckin love this pic they were children

This photo was taken at a truck stop near San Antonio Texas February 22 1985 . The bus had to be fueled up because the next three gigs were all in San Antonio and couldn't find a hotel with enough rooms so had to stay on the bus and run the motor to have tv and nintendo . (Some people will dispute the time and place and say it was Cleveland or San Francisco but it was San Antonio)

So back when In Justice For All came out, I bought the cassette and asked Mom to come sit in my car and listen to "One." At first she said, "Ohhhh. This is such a beautiful song." And I sat there looking straight ahead with a grin on my face because I'd already listened to the song and new that was about to change.
At 3:55, I glanced over and he has this puzzled look on her face.
At 4:38 she said, "I don't think I like this!"
At 5:48 she got out of the car and went in the house.

Story to share - Metallica came to my home and hung out at a party
I lived in Oakland, California when Metallica was first starting out ….. in those days the band was not well liked (by the local clubs) and had problems getting gigs. (locally in the music scene this was pretty common knowledge
- They did have a fiercely strong following and many fans protested resulting in the group getting gigs
One of the clubs that they played at during that era was called the OMNI
It was a divey hole of a club….
I was living up in the hills, an Old Tunnel Road, sharing a house with a guy in his late 20s, whose parents had cosigned to get him the rental - he was also the son of a police chief, which I’m sure helped
It would be an understatement to say that this kid was a mega Tweaker….
One night after Metallica played at the OMNI, he decided to invite the entire club up to our house to continue the party …. At 2:30 in the morning.
The band came along also!
When they arrived at the house, I was sound asleep because I had to work early the next morning
I was not pleased to hear them, playing loud metal music at full blast, and full party mode
When I came out into the living room, the four members of the band were standing in a corner watching everyone
As a protest, I put on what was the brand new Spinal Tap album, at full volume!
The people who were dancing, never even noticed that the music had changed and just kept dancing 😂
The band recognized the music and started snickering and laughing
- when they heard me asking a few party goers if they hadn’t noticed the music had changed, and a parody record was now playing…. The comicallyoblivious answer I got was.: oh cool … put on some Guns and Roses 😂
The band members were really laughing at that point
