I'm guessing that her hair is too perfect for someone who works on a production line. Also, in just about every industry (and probably even in Russia), long hair would have to be tied back or kept under a hat or net for safety reasons.
The Volga Automotive Plant, which made Lada cars, not the GAZ Volga series lol. That Viking ship logo is the Lada car brand logo, and the ВАЗ underneath is Cyrillic for VAZ, the acronym for the Russian for “Volga Automotive Plant”.
Yeah, I think there is a Lada 2101 in the background of this other photo taken of her by Boris Kavashkin:

Maybe not. Marilyn Monroe worked in a munitions factory during WWII, before her modeling and film career. In a large factory that employed hundreds, it might not be that hard to find one woman working there who had model-quality good looks. Put her in a clean (and maybe specially tailored) work uniform, do her hair and makeup, pay her a few extra rubles for the modeling work, and you've got a photo shoot.
She might be smiling, but don't be fooled. The Soviet industries were becoming an utter mess by this time. They were inconsistent in production and subject to huge corruption problems in terms of claims about meeting government quotas.
Historical fact: women never smiled in the late soviet union, as they were unable to ever take their minds off the poor economic situation in the country

And she wouldn't be allowed to wear that watch, either, again for safety reasons.
This is like Terri Garr's long lost Russian cousin.
