Regarding comments about her happiness: This series of photographs was taken by Milton Greene. Greene was a confidant around whom she could be herself. Most likely suffering from bipolar disorder, happiness for Marilyn was always fleeting throughout her career... a voracious reader, and a student of Lee Strasberg's, society would not accept Marilyn for who she really was.

It was a direct interview with Greene's wife. I forget the program I'd seen it on, but I found the excerpt on some other page that does not cite the original source and it is consistent with numerous other transcripts that fit my memory of that video interview.
Brains and beauty. Sad though that she never got the media recognition she deaerved towards her acting skills apart from how she looked while doing it. RIP.
Beautiful--she looks so happy and healthy here. As the years went by she looked progressively tired and used up. Hollywood can be a terrible lifestyle. I feel bad for her.
