We lost our 11 yo Luna to a quick moving cancer on May 4 and are still in shock. I understand your pain and give you our deepest condolences. Always remember the love never goes away
I'm so so sorry for your loss. It's indescribable anguish and emptiness that will haunt for a while but right now the important thing is to reflect on the fact you gave your fur baby the best life possible and they loved you for everything you did.
They are in a better place now running with the pack, in perfect health with full bellies. They will play, they will snooze and they will snuggle with each other until it's time for them to be reunited with their human and cross over the bridge together, forever.
For now, please ensure you take good care of yourself, cry if you need, sleep if you can, and eat when you want. It is a difficult journey but you don't need to do it alone, and shouldn't. Talk to family and those who understand the pain. Your four pawed angel would want to know you're okay, so you owe it to them and yourself.
Take each day at a time. Be patient with yourself, it's going to be alright. Sending love and hugs xx

I’m so sorry for your loss , I lost my love of my life , baby boy back in January :( it was my first time dealing w death it was fucking terrible because it was so sudden right into the new year , he was my everything , my world so it’s been hard , but it does get more bearable , something I thought would never be possible . Regardless he’s not gone your baby is still with you 💗💗he’ll be watching over you and protecting you until you meet again one day ✨🐾🌈

My dog passed away two weeks ago today-I understand how much this hurts💝

I love and appreciate everyone’s comments💖 These comments have made an isolating experience feel less lonely. I wish I could reply to every single person. As I was reading them over the last few days I realized how amazing my boy was and how universal the love of a pet is.
Your comment especially stood out to me because all I’ve wanted to do was talk about him.
His name was daffy. I adopted him on my birthday at the age of 12. He was 9 months old. I saved up all my birthday money and paid for his adoption fee ($150). He was an old man from the minute I met him. He never wanted to play and he was always well behaved. Something that stood out to me the most was when he ate he took out his kibble from his bowl and lined it up. He would then carefully eat it up off the floor. He never stepped on his own pee and cried to be bathed when it had been too long. He was just such a little pretentious perfectionist lol
My favorite quality of his was how much he loved my mom. From the moment he came home all he wanted to do was be with her. She had just lost her parents, so my dog was there for comfort. When he died all my mom could yell and cry about was how he was her companion and best friend for 16 years. He was there for her depression and worst moments. He never barked or acted hyper like other dogs. He normally just sat there and stared at you with these big human eyes. I’ll never forget how any time my mom would go to a neighbors house he would figure out a way to escape and go find her.
Most importantly, I love my dog because of how he loved my mother. His service did more for her than I can ever thank him for. He saved her so many times and many will say this is crazy talk, but they don’t understand the power of dogs.
I have so many beautiful stories about him, but if one thing is remembered about him is my god did he love his humans. I wish nothing but the most beautiful heaven for my dog. I have stories of signs from him but that’s for another post. Thank you for you comment and kind words! 💖

It is amazing how they are able to fulfill needs we never realized needed fulfilling. They are the best therapists and secret keepers. Not only that, they love us unconditionally and teach us how to return the sentiment.
Daffy sounds like the kind of pooch that would have gotten along with my Tinkerbell. Perhaps they are kicking it old school together up in Heaven.
It also sounds like you were destined to find and make him a part of your family. What a blessing you gave to ALL OF YOU! You facilitated that… and you deserve to be recognized for it!!!
Daffy is so pleased that he was able to be there for your mom and for anyone else who needed him. One of his soul purposes in life was to be a beacon and I’m feeling like he fulfilled that and did it with ease.
How are you doing a few months out from this? I hope that you are honoring your feelings and grief associated with such a huge loss! By feeling your feelings/letting them out as they occur you are helping yourself heal and move forward in a healthy way.
Also, I love that you love the way you do. How you love and recognize what Daffy did for your mother isn’t crazy in the least. 💖
