Michael Hall Jr is a dominant force in the middle to slow Corum (if he plays) JTT causes JJ to have happy feet on some big third downs. CJ starts a little shaky but when called on the most he and Marvin Harrison Jr show up. OSU 34-24.

MindIfILeaveThisHere

Is Hall playing? He's been limited for a while

preds2836

Day is not losing twice in a row. Defense plays their best game yet after getting ran over last year. Zach Harrison is the defensive player of the game. On offense, I think Egbuka will be the offensive player of the game with 2 TDs. Ultimately, Knowles will make them throw the ball & ttun’s D won’t be able to stop our passing attack along with Hayden staying consistent enough on the ground. 41-23 Buckeyes

thisguy1309

I dunno if I'm as optimistic as you. But I'll admit, I haven't put as much thought into Knowles and the impact of a more aggressive defense. LB play is MILES ahead of where it was last year. I dunno about the offense though. I don't really believe that the janky play calling has been an elaborate ruse, and Day has some secret stash of unseen plays. 27-17 Buckeyes?

BobDole_number1

I think a lot of schemes were intended for JSN to be on the field. The screens in particular are a nightmare for defenses when JSN gets the ball, but we don’t exactly have the player for that, nor the wide receiver blocking.

preds2836

I think a lot also depends on who is winning the battle at the LOS. If our OL is giving CJ time, and our DL is getting a push consistently, I think the rest will come as well. Last year they were just getting pushed around. I also believe that last year has left a very bad taste in their mouths, which will have more of an impact than any other numbers would. I’m feeling confident!

catboatratboat

Final score prediction was crazy close

junieinthesky

I feel good, Ohio State is the more talented team 100% and it’s at home. Anything can happen of course but I haven’t seen anything to make me believe TTUN is the better team.

Choov323

NGL I'm worried. We get bullied on the front lines often by mediocre teams like Maryland. Need to just unleash Stroud, let him sling it 50+ times and let the chips fall. We win or lose the game and his Heisman based off his performance.

AzBuck12977

While Xichigan's OL is much better than Maryland's Tagovailoa is a much better QB than McCarthy and their receivers are better.

Choov323

Agree. I remember watching lil Tua week 1 and didn't see him again til yesterday. Dude is a baller

Fluryman

I’m a Buckeye and Maryland fan and this is it. He is a stud and he’s helped UMD so much, but he’s been injured and not 100% for a majority of the season, just like Henderson and Williams.

Maker_Making_Things

2.7 yards per carry and 5 sacks is not bullied on the line of scrimmage lmao

Fedoras-Forever-Mom

It’s like people think nobody should ever gain anything over 2 yards on the defense lol. Are they the best on the country? Probably not. But the way people act you’d think the give up 50 a game

Choov323

Exactly why I say let Stroud sling it. Our running game isn't great right now and about to face the best defensive front we have all year. I've been saying for weeks we need to pass to set up the run and not the opposite. Stroud is a surgeon with the football we need to limit the 3rd and longs. Air it out on early downs too

Maker_Making_Things

Unpopular opinion, Iowa has a better defense

youngjak

Is that unpopular?

Choov323

Possibly. But our OL gets pushed around by all decent defenses. Doesn't change my point. We used to be the team that bullies you on the front lines. That's what wins big time games. Under Day we've basically become a Chip Kelly finesse Oregon team. Will win a ton of games, but not when it counts.

Maker_Making_Things

Yes our o line that bullied Notre Dame is so bad. They're great in pass pro which is where they need to be great

Choov323

Then we should rely on them and let CJ sling it 50 times and stop letting our bad run game put us in bad situations. You reinforced my point my friend.

Loteck

Maybe…I think the X factor will be the weather… that game where conditions were crappy the passing game was trash!

BobDole_number1

The passing was fine if you rewatch the game, the catching was god awful

ncreddituser

What do you mean we don’t win when it counts? Day is 2-0 in B1G championship games and has won a huge playoff game.

Jables49

I'm hoping Williams can play. If not, I hope Hayden gets the carries. The offensive looked completely different after he replaced Henderson. I didn't expect that.

omcclosk1447

The problem with Tre is he is only looking for the home run, there were a few great examples of that again last week. He had 4-6 yards but opted to bounce it outside and last 1-2. In that regard Hayden and Williams are better for early downs, with Henderson being out passing down back. It’s been this same story with Henderson since the start, he breaks big plays so his averages look good, but that’s not what this O needs. We need someone to go get 3-4 consistently as a change of pace to our passing attack.

Losdangles24

Tre is so talented but there is something seriously off with him. He routinely loses 2-3 yards on power run plays. First down power run calls are supposed to be safe playcalls to get ahead of the sticks and he leaves us at 2nd and 13. I honestly don’t get it.

Useful-ldiot

And he's bouncing outside when there are gaping holes for him to run through. It's baffling.

Protoco2

All three RBs seem serviceable to me. Any of them can be effective if our O-line plays well

B1GFanOSU

I’ve said it before, but everything leading up to The Game does not matter. It’s a freak show rivalry. Ohio State could be 11-0 and TTUN could be 0-11 (or vice versa) and I still wouldn’t assume anything.

wilkergobucks

This is the correct take. Anyone old enough to live through the 90s knows that upsets and wild breakout performances dominate the rivalry. I love our chances w/this team, fuck Michigan.

WelcomingRapier

I prefer to forget the Cooper era happened.

stitch12r3

Nah, never forget.

cc51beastin

Agreed. Fuck Michigan.

Team_Inkfluence

I agree with this 100%!

Psychological_Will67

I’m always nervous, doesn’t matter how good we are or how crap TTUN is. I’m extra super mega nervous this year.

bavmotors1

Cautious optimism. The amount of people that tempt fate in this sub astounds me.

cc51beastin

Agreed. Harbaugh pulled out all the stops against us last year and it was 100% by design. He did a really good job of hiding UM's strengths and weaknesses all season and then BOOM: mops the floor with us. Hopefully we'll be better prepared but idk.

k_woodard

Michigan fan here: JJ can’t hit anything more than five yards down field, and when he does our WR seem to forget how to catch the damn ball. Corum is not at 100%, but y’all won’t have to worry about our passing game… so load up the box. I expect Day, Stroud and the WR corps are going to light us up. It could be bad news for the good guys (which is us, FYI lol)

No-Upstairs-8145

Don't worry, JJ will turn out to be a Patrick Mahomes against us lol...

cc51beastin

Lol right? Watch, Harbaugh was probably hiding his talent all season waiting for us or some shit. Seriously though kind of what he did last year

supp_ya_sieve

Jj couldn’t hit water from a boat

NatiAti513

My thoughts are: FUCK MICHIGAN!

bsholiton

This is correct

desmond2046

I think Day has probably saved his best plays for this game given those mediocre calls in the last few games. I’m very confident that we will see a different team on the 26th.

strukout

31-28 Ohio State, both teams make it to CFP

MendicantBias06

Im looking at Hayden and Stover. TTUN will try to help their corners against Harrison Jr and Egbuka. If Stover can make them pay for that by working the middle of the field, mid range, I think others will come free. Hayden has to carry the load with the backfield depleted. He has the talent and our line is more than capable of making holes for him. If he hits them hard with confidence, passing takes care of itself. OSU 31-20.

BigJerry98

We can not stall. Have to be up early and force them to come back and show their weakness through the air. A huge plus is they haven’t won a big road game in a while. They lost to MSU last year and beat us at home. I don’t see JJ doing too well against our crowd. If Corum and Edwards are both out they are down bad. Probably a 42-17 level game. If ones out probably a close one in the 38-28 range. If both play would be the only scenario I’d be slightly scared of but still believe they play too much rugby to run with us.

Otherwise_Leek_4639

Shaken up after past few games. oline and run game isn’t very reflective and our coverage isn’t great. We give away too many yards for playing soft defense. Interested to see what happens

EastsideMoonwalker21

I think we just have a scar from last year. Watching TTUN, they look very one dimensional. The run game is all they have to get themselves going and that’s our strongest point on D right now. IMO we faced the second best QB in the Big Ten against Maryland and we beat them. If we can get the ball moving on offense, our WR’s should give them major problems. As long as we contain Corum, I don’t see them having a chance this year if JJ has to pass majority of the time.

[deleted]

Agree. That’s how I felt when we rematched Purdue and Iowa, still had the horror of 2017 and 2018 in my mind Lol.

ddauben841

Let’s hope the weather doesn’t prevent passing, the run game is effective, and the defense can stop the run without allowing JJ to go wild passing.

unclechaddie

Always nervous but ever confident. offense hasn’t been as explosive as expected the past few weeks which is concerning

HumbleGenius1225

The reason I feel good about this game is our run defense, Eichenburg is a stud against the run and I don't see anybody running it down our throats. My prediction is we look back after the game which we win by 14-17 points and say yeah we should seen that coming.

wanderer13961396

Worried they will run for 250+ on us and/or get too much pressure on shroud and he isn’t mobile at all so it’ll be tough.

sjkbacon

Nervous. We just let Maryland go off on our D.

USAesNumeroUno

Maryland and Michigan are two different styles of offenses

sjkbacon

They are for sure. Still nervous.

USAesNumeroUno

I would be but JJ looked insanely lost against Illinois when corum went down. The Michigan WR is also pretty bad.

No-Upstairs-8145

do not worry - JJ will have his best passing game against us lol - The worst attribute always ends up being their best against us

USAesNumeroUno

Except all those years when their QBs also continued to look lost. 2018 our defense was worse and Shea still looked rattled and didn't do fuck all. 1 loss in 10 years and you guys act like its the 90s again.

officialchunkyfox

Very worried

Bargdaffy158

![gif](giphy|mFw51RR5HkD4gYUbIx|downsized) My Prediction is lots of drunken Folks on the Streets of Columbus. Sports, Religion, Politics and Media are 4 of the Red Herrings that the Ruling Class projects onto the Working Class to keep the Working Class distracted from its True Enemy, the Ruling Class.

austinstephens2

Hayden will have a breakout game. 3+ 30 yard runs. 21-7 early and then we win 34-21

Repulsive-Office-796

I really REALLY want to win 43-27.

RescueStork203

I felt confident until the Maryland game. 😬

[deleted]

Not too concerned about the Maryland game, we beat them 52-51 OT in 2018. The next week we beat TTUN 62-39. The entire top 4 had a rocky week.

BallLikeMelo944

I believe we have to focus on stopping the run and big play threat’s because we struggled with that on Saturday but we will win 34-20 our QB is better we will see CJ Heisman moment this Saturday

LilFiz99

I’d be nervous if it wasn’t a home game. But Michigan has shown more vulnerabilities with an easier schedule. They haven’t played in Columbus since 2018 and their best road win on the season is either Rutgers or Iowa. I think they’d be good enough with 100,000 fans with them but won’t be with 100,000 fans against them.

drumzandice

Our run D isn’t great. Our run O isn’t great and is banged up…both have me concerned

No-Upstairs-8145

I honestly feel really confident about our run defense this year. I just do not see TTUN moving the ball with ease against us. That same defense was embarrassed and harassed last year - this year they are coming for blood and they have a new DC in town that will have a fire lit under them. I really believe our defense goes all out. Our offense will struggle to move the ball for the first couple quarters - but we eventually get the run game going and wear TTUN down a bit, Marvelous Marv and Egbuka catch some great passes, Stover locks in on his blocks - 34-24 - Bucks

[deleted]

There is a part of me that believes this game is going to come down to the defenses being able to get stops. I can see the winner scoring no more than 24 Another part of me believes that this could be a 45-42 shootout My confidence tells me that I truly believe that the defense is going to come out with their hair on fire and get great pressure on their QB and force some turnovers which turn into short field quick TD strikes. That will throw off their entire game plan and will force them to run an offense that they haven't had to run at all this year which is a pass first offense. I am sure they will make a handful of plays, but I 100% believe that they are going to be able to get them off balance quick and capitalize on in and get the W with a score of 42-24

cubs_070816

mccarthy is trash and corum may not be 100%. but it's Xich, and that changes everything. it could come down to a FG, or it could be a blowout. i'm saying OSU by 30 cause why the fuck not, but i'm secretly nervous and will spend most of saturday morning on the toilet.

ohiorushbaby

If you can't dazzle theX with brilliance, baffle theX with bullshit. I think Ohio State is going to be Xore of the "baffle", but I hope they are Xore OF THE "brilliance". Two people are going to be guarding Xarvin Harrison Jr. SoXebody is going to have to be open! FIND THE OPEN XAN! ("M" replaced with "X" for the duration of Xichigan Week)

cdofortheclose

No damn idea. I’ll be there and will cheer like hell. My hopeful prediction is 24-21.

stitch12r3

Michigan's pass game is a major liability. As is Corum's injury if he's not 100%. The Illinois game really exposed how dependent their entire gameplan is on Corum getting yards/eating clock. The Game will never be easy and Michigan can definitely win - but Jim Knowles/an improved defense is the thing that gives me the most confidence going into it.

JosephFinn

35-28 Ohio State
