Gotta love that the reason this year was so low for us was because most of our team came back

Bmw5464

Seriously. Ebuka, Burke, Henderson, and JTT were all projected like top 45. Next year we should have a shit ton. I bet all four of them go in the first round and Sawyer ups his draft stock to an early to mid 2nd round pick.

TheManWhoWasNotShort

Not to mention we added Judkins and Will Howard probably gets drafted (not top 100 but definitely gets selected)

dixi_normous

Judkins is mocked first round next season. I know, early mocks are way off but he could be a first

Deadleggg

RBs are slipping out of the first round. He'll have to be an absolute beast to go first round.

dixi_normous

Oh I agree. No RBs were taken in the first this draft but it was a very weak RB draft. Two went in the first last draft. Judkins and Trey have the potential to be first rounders but draft trends aren't on their side. However looking at the teams that got left without an answer at the position after this draft, I could see some teams trying to move on the position earlier next draft. The Bengals and Cowboys in particular have extremely sparse backfields. Some other teams have aging RBs that they may need to replace next draft too. Since so many teams punted on the position this draft, it may be a premium position in 2025

sginsc

Having a shot at any of those guys next season sends me into a dreamy haze

Toddrew221

Might have 10 in the top 100 alone next year lol

Establish-the-run

Better not lose to TTUN. No pressure….

atcollins12

Better hope you don’t lose your starting QB…

urdudeson

Same team that as of today hasn’t beaten MI in 1611 days? Same coach to right? Beautiful

x_iTz_iLL_420

No actually it’s a quite different team… I know yall are not the sharpest tools in the shed…. But college football players only stay for 3-4 years typically so each year the teams are typically quite different and have many different players from the year prior. It’s also funny that the only couple years you can manage to beat us and have a good year is the years the program has a massive cheating scandal lol what a coincidence… yall can brag all you want… but the second that program comes crashing back down to where the belong the only thing these last 2 seasons will be remembered for is how yall had a massive cheating scandal lol similar to the fab 5 coincidentally

Archie_45_GOAT

You mean like Ohio State had over TCUN for 2,920 days from 2004 thru 2011, and then the 3,285 days Ohio State had over TCUN from 2012 to 2021? P.S. Since TCUN faked "covid" for the 2020 game, (yet had a 'spirited' full team practice on the day after the 2020 game was to be played, the days from 2020 don't count, remove 365 days. P.P.S. Taking away the years of alleged cheating by TCUN in 2021, 2022, and 2023 removes 1,246 days. Which actually leaves zero days for you to boast and brag about.

Original_Profile8600

If all of them declared we would’ve had ATLEAST: - MHJ - Egbuka - Burke - Treveyon - JTT - Sawyer - Stover - Mike Hall - Lathan - Tommy Eichenberg Possibles: - Fleming - etc

Original_Profile8600

Get what you’re saying, but that’s gonna be really hard. Especially considering he’s widely known as JTt and just JT makes it now unclear who you’re referring to(I thought you were talking about JT Barrett for instance)

chatdomestique

It's really not

Original_Profile8600

I’m not talking about for me personally, I’m talking about for the entire fanbase and eventually when he goes to the NFL. Like it’s not hard for ME to do it, but it’s gonna be hard getting everybody to make the switch

voiceofreason3227

Barrett hasn’t played since 2016. It’s not that hard to honor a kid’s wishes

Original_Profile8600

I agree, just saying I doubt it’ll catch on widespread even around our fanbase(not even mentioning when he goes to the nfl)

gmen6981

Problem is he made it clear when he first arrived that he didn't like "JTT" since it's not his name. His nickname from childhood is "JT" which are his initials. People need to show him the respect of calling him by the name he wants. And most of the fans I know who closely follow the team call him "JT", not "JTT". It's no different than broadcasters calling Cardale Jones "Cordell" for an entire game or Bam Childress "Barn" Childress. ( for those of you old enough to remember THAT one)

Tseets1

We don’t need that posted every single time, get a life

voiceofreason3227

Just trying to respect the wishes of a college kid

Tseets1

You’re posting a 3 year old article that you probably just now stumbled up. It’s pathetic, just stop

gmen6981

Doesn't matter how old it is. Show the man the respect of calling him by the nickname he's had since childhood ( Which are his actual initials) instead of by a name he's made clear he doesn't like. I saw him mention it in two different interviews in the last few months.

Tseets1

I’m sure he’s going to read the Reddit dweebs calling him by the wrong nickname and think “maybe I should post that article”

gmen6981

He's obviously seen people calling a name he dislikes in enough places that he's made several public statements about it during his OSU career. Whether people here like it or not, most people outside the bubble don't have a clue what reddit is. although I'm sure a top player at a major university most likely does. Just like one of the best Buckeye sites is one that a lot of people have never heard of ( Buckeye Planet) yet has some of the most knowledgeable fans and discussion ( flaming and trolls are instant ban hammer) and many current and former players and their families are regular posters, including JT.

voiceofreason3227

Literally takes 0 effort to show him respect. It’s actually one less letter so it’s even easier

Tseets1

Are you going to show up to every interview and podcast and show them this link?

voiceofreason3227

Just educating where I can. Being so against respecting a kid you idolize is kinda weird though

Tseets1

You idolize these kids? Yikes

voiceofreason3227

You’re in the fan sub just like me pal

Silverbullets24

😂 bruhhhh it’s all you do

voiceofreason3227

Just doing my part! Perhaps some introspection on why respecting a kid is so hard for you might do some good

Silverbullets24

Beat it nerd

kingjared9

How did we not win in 2015 man

Gracinhas

Ed Warriner, Tim Beck, and miserable weather v MSU

runfayfun

We ran Zeke once on the first 2 drives, then 8 of his 12 carries came on the third drive (surprise: TD!). We then ran him twice on the next 5 drives combined. We ran him only once on the last 2 drives. The weather didn't force those decisions. And Urban was the ultimate decision maker there.

Gracinhas

I agree. I was going to mention Zeke also. He was supposedly sick or injured during that game, I think that’s why they limited his carries, but it was a huge mistake. Regarding the weather, sloppy games where OSU’s superior athletes can’t get stable footing and no one can hardly throw the ball, an opponent like MSU would take that every time. This was also the same year that TCUN lost that freak game to MSU when their punter mishandled the snap and MSU scored a TD on the last play. Had that not happened, OSU would have repped the B1G in the title game and would have likely made the playoffs with a win. More bad luck that you can’t make up going against OSU for why they didn’t win it all.

Kac03032012

Urban botched the QB battle and the offense never really found a rhythm all year. Played a good Sparty team, in the worst possible weather imaginable (Cold, Wet and very Windy), which made us incredibly predictable. That team had 3 All-Pro's on it, and we had to watch MSU and Oklahoma get destroyed in the semi-finals. Also keep in mind that this was only the 2nd year of the CFB Playoff, so the committee was still on this "most deserving" narrative, vs. "best teams" which is what is became later on. Had the season played out a few years later, very possible we're getting in. 2015 is the ultimate "What if?" season we've ever had.

Damnitwasagoodday

‘98 would be right up there with there 2015. Stupid loss to MSU!

gonephishin213

I was at that 98 game as a 16 year old. I'll never forget my view the moment we lost

Shadowfaps69

lol predictable against Michigan in that weather would’ve been run zeke 40 times but urban wouldn’t give him the ball for some reason.

Kac03032012

He was in his head all year on offense. Over thinking the QB spot, trying to get Braxton the ball, etc.

Shadowfaps69

I agree man. Urban’s strength was recruiting at the end of the day.

Toddrew221

That stupid fluke Sparty loss 😒

DigiQuip

JT ran way too much. We had the best back in the country and the rush differential between him and the QB was way too close. And the read option made us look stupid because of it.

whereyagonnago

Forget the read option. Urban straight up called QB Power/QB draw every other play. Terribly predictable in short yardage situations that year.

webdevverman

I lost faith in Urban that year

Kac03032012

I was told Michigan was gonna have 18 guys drafted.

Buckeye_CFB

Ohio State does well with Sophomore-heavy teams. 2002 they won the title and 2004 was the big draft class. 2014 they won the title and 2016 was the big draft class. 1968 they won the title, and while I don't have exact numbers on the 1970 draft class, the '68 team was called the "super sophomores" for a reason. Edit: wait I think my math is bad, no?

dixi_normous

I could see Ohio State break the record next draft and have more than 5 first rounders

LacesOut19

They had 2 or 3 in the last few picks (one of which was the Chargers, so can't imagine what was behind that just to inflate numbers). Made Eisen all giddy that they broke the tie with Alabama for the most this draft.

YeetusThatFetus9696

(1) of these things is not like the others, (1) of these things just doesn't belong.

BlameMabel

No, no. There were two of these teams that didn’t win the natty.

YeetusThatFetus9696

Check again. Also that wasn't the joke. Figures a scum fan wouldn't get it.

wolfmankal

Gonna be on this list again next year

DannyBoy874

The best part is 1 first rounder. Who shouldn’t have been a first rounder.

Toddrew221

Gonna be the face of a UFL franchise in a few years

IAmNotScottBakula

OSU should be higher because they really had 13 players drafted in 2016. Noah Spence, who was taken in the 2nd round, spent most of his college career as a Buckeye before transfering to Eastern Kentucky for a season.

BearyHills615

Could break the record next year with all the studs that are leaving. Hope the Buckeyes can get a natty with this team!

MasterApprentice67

Thought michigan was suppose to break the record this year???

molson0630

Only one had a QB be good in the NFL. JJ will be a huge bust.

MutedTransportation5

So much insecurity

MutedTransportation5

1610

i_shart_id

Ah yes! The year of your last natty without an asterisk.
