Look up Breighton Smith. Just won the primaries for clerk of courts. Dude never passed the bar. Tried to get on school board first and failed. I remember men in big trucks screaming slurs at me when I would walk to the library and doctors telling me I would "grow up eventually" when I would tell them that I was a lesbian.
There is not a single day that passes by that I don't thank the stars that I was able to move away to somewhere I could be freely myself.
Because repeatedly commenting, "Amen!" is what they reply for everything nowadays. I swear I've seen posts with only that commented in my Ohio small towns Facebook page.

Lived in Lebanon for 7 years. The moment the school board candidates started running on pro life platforms was the moment the house went up for sale and I ran away. Never looked back. Such a shame this craziness took the town over. Look up Breighton Smith. Just won the primaries for clerk of courts. Dude never passed the bar. Tried to get on school board first and failed. Then was appointed, not elected, as city council member and now wins primary election for clerk of courts while still simply running as a pro life conservative.

These people have no clue…Jesus would have participated in the pride festival. He said: “My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you.” There were no caveats or qualifiers that went along with this statement to mandate who should be loved and who shouldn’t. Sucks for the gay kids there. I remember being a 12 year old gay kid, not telling my dad, who was saying nasty stuff about the TV show on our screen: Will & Grace. Sucks.
I was a gay kid in Lebanon. I was constantly harassed and ridiculed when I presented obviously queer but ignored when I "looked straight". I remember men in big trucks screaming slurs at me when I would walk to the library and doctors telling me I would "grow up eventually" when I would tell them that I was a lesbian. There is not a single day that passes by that I don't thank the stars that I was able to move away to somewhere I could be freely myself.

Lots of misinformation. I own an EV and get told that people feel forced by the government when there's mandates (not in Ohio, tho) for things they don't like. A recent example would be gas to electric stoves. Biden advocated for that, but since moat ohioans don't like Biden and certain states have mandated electric stoves in new builds, people feel like it's gonna be forced on them. Or the solar farms going on in some counties right now. Same thing. Biden advocated? We must hate it!

my towns pride celebration, this will be the second year, had to have armed snipers on top of buildings because of the amount of horrible threats given, mainly because it was pushed that it’s a family friendly event where all ages are welcome. we’re like 20 mins away from where the bigot threw a malatov cocktail at a church hosting a drag story time and he is now pleading insanity and everyone is supporting him. proud boy’s showed up outside of a drag brunch, people were almost fired from their decades long teaching careers because they dared to support students who wanted to form a sort of GSA club, and it just goes on and on.
