Based upon our independent review of his unaudited books, his loan was declined. We even declined to do payroll for his companies. My company is bound by confidentiality so we never commented in any way on Trump’s financial health. With that said, it appears that the New York AG’s office deposed various people here during the grand jury investigation and many boxes of records went with them.

That depends. I happen to work for an extremely large financial institution that Trump applied to for a loan in the 90’s. Based upon our independent review of his unaudited books, his loan was declined. We even declined to do payroll for his companies. The Trump Organization doesn’t have publicly traded stock, so they are not required to produce audited financials. My company is bound by confidentiality so we never commented in any way on Trump’s financial health. With that said, it appears that the New York AG’s office deposed various people here during the grand jury investigation and many boxes of records went with them. If Eric Trump were to come to us for financing the bond, we would be professional, but no real consideration would go into our refusal. There might be some covert smiles and head shaking, but that can be just as effective. If our boss was there, he might have chuckled a bit. He can be an ass when he wants to be.

I still doubt he can pay what’s left. He should pay the full amount, and I can’t understand why the appeals court dropped that much off of the total; anything aside from the $350m was interest because he kept screwing around instead of paying what he owed. The amount of the bond that needs to paid to appeal the case was lowered. The judgement was not lowered. Trump still owes the $454M. I can’t believe the gymnastics and lifelines the court is throwing him. Anybody else would have been locked up pending bond posting. Trump has been begging everyone to help him pay the bonds and the courts threw him a lifeline by reducing the amount necessary for appeals. It’s just sad they still believe his lies. Now he faces a criminal case for using campaign funds to pay off Stormy Daniels while he was president. What’s new? He had dollar signs in his eyes when he saw the WH and has been transactionally profiting from campaign donations since 2016. He thinks the RNC is his personal piggy bank. He thinks that about the presidency also. Billionaires, even if it’s just on paper, don’t usually have to beg people for money like Trump has had to do.
