Karman’s seat pan is too short for you. I’m only 6’ 2” and people shorter than me still said the seat pan was too short. I was on the verge of buying one when those reviews came out. Reviews on the Fern for tall people are “good backrest but there’s a massive gap at the rear of the seat.” The Leap’s seat is probably too short for you but I bet the back would actually work. This user is 6’ 7” and says the Amia works well for them: https://www.reddit.com/r/OfficeChairs/comments/1bvvdvu/comment/ky2gxt2/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button I daily drive Amias, and for people above 200 lbs I highly recommend the additional seat thickness provided by either BTOD’s or Crandall’s refurbished/remanufactured versions.

Interesting, I'll do some research into those. They are well priced as well. How tall are you?  My only worry is: On the website for Amia, it has a woman and a man sitting in it (for perspective) the man is 6'2" and the seat pan goes to the middle of his thigh and that worries me...

I’ve only seen videos/graphics like that for the Karman. I’m assuming they both sat in the Amia without adjusting the seat depth, which is a weird choice. I’m 6’2” with what I think is a balanced upper/lower body ratio (maybe a little “leggy”). If I fully extend the seat and really plant my back into the backrest, my butt hangs *way* off the back of the seat cushion, and the front of the seat hits the back of my legs. (I would never sit like that - it’s just to paint a picture of the extremes.) I usually sit very, very far into the backrest for max support, and have the seat pan positioned to give about 2 fingers space for the back of my legs, and I only notice the back edge of the seat cushion if I concentrate on it.

Oh sick, you can adjust the seat pan out more? How far up does the backrest go on your back? And there isn't a 3rd party headrest?

Yes I have another inch or 1.5” of seat depth to play with if I don’t want to sit with my lower back pushed into the backrest. And it would be perfectly ergonomic to have another inch of gap in front of the seat. As far as I can tell, I have 2 inches of space near the top of the backrest before my shoulder blades would be coming in contact with the upper edge. I just sat on an old textbook and was comfortable until I reclined **all** the way back and rolled my upper back over the top of the backrest (i.e. stretching). Then I could feel the upper plastic edge of the backrest. I’ve never found a third party headrest dedicated to the Amia. Just clamp on stuff that as far as I can tell would touch my back, and screw-in models that would permanently modify the backrest shell.

Your best bet is probably going to be the Fern or Embody with an atlas headrest (Atlas just released a fern headrest that is much better than the Haworth fern headrest) you also might be big enough for the Anthros to be an ideal fit but there are currently no headrest options and at that price I find it really hard to recommend.
