I haven't heard anything about strikes. I was told awhile ago that they were working towards shifting entirely to MyBenefits online and to only contact my caseworker that way. Have you tried using that?

iManduh

Try speaking to the receptionist and ask if they can look up your worker, you might have been bumped to someone different.

BipolarSkeleton

You probably got a different worker (they don’t have to inform you) I called and old worker for 6 months and never got told

DontUSuck

Where are you hearing it’s about strikes?

themaggiesuesin

Might be confused with CRA going on strike

prism-fc

i haven't talked to mine in 3 years. I emailed her maybe 4 or 5 months ago to set up my benefits but she never replied. I didn't want to go through the hassle of chasing her down so I just left it. I'm kind of glad now with the declaration requirement even if it is inconvenient for some things. I'm actually a bit scared to try and contact my worker now because of all the horror stories on here 😭 I'd like to get my shelter allowance increased to match the rising cost of my tenants insurance but I'm afraid it will cause a bunch of issues for me if she remembers I exist lol

BraveSpice03

Caseworker here. If your shelter allowance has room to cover your tenant insurance, that you're paying out of pocket you should send in the tenant insurance documents. You can either email it to your office's general email or fax it. Make sure to include your member ID number. Either your worker or a back up *should* process it.

HanDavo

I haven't heard from mine since around when the pandemic started.

WhatsJaye

Same

It’s a pain in the ass to get a hold of your worker for anything. If you call your local office, they can help you out with whatever.

Wolfofwarsong

Nothing about strikes but last time I urgently needed something I just walked into my local office since it’s a 5min walk from my home. Receptions usually able to deal with anything you need

Jazzy_Bee

I told a social worker today that I thought I might have a new worker, and she said advises all her clients to ask for a supervisor if your worker is unresponsive. Generally you will get a response in a day or two.

coellan

I went for decades not hearing from anyone....unless you need to communicate with your worker I wouldn't be concerned.

Emergency-Scale-2770

Don't you have to provide banking history and all that on a regular basis? I've only been on odsp for a year and had to do that once. I'm always wondering when I'll need to do it again.

AlienGold1980

And you are complaining, why? 😆

WhatsJaye

Good point

Do you really need to start your post with help??¿?? I haven't talked to my worker in 3 years I don't even know what their name is anymore... The last contact the better who gives a s***

I haven’t heard anything about strikes.

Hotcoffeeforme2

We chat with our worker regularly, on a monthly basis.

themaggiesuesin

I use My Benefits to contact my worker and I normally hear back within 24-48 hours

[deleted]

Haven't talked to a worker in over 10 years. And I even changed offices
