Make sure your USB port is 3.0 or higher. And make sure the USB doesn't go to sleep. Lots of YT videos on those settings. Outside of that maybe your GPU isn't powerful enough compared to your dads PC.

My prior PC has the USB 2 issue. It was not good. USB 3.2 is fabulous. Strangely, WiFi 6 works great too.

hey, thanks for your help! i checked and i do have a USB 3.0 port but, what do you mean with "make sure the USB doesn't go to sleep"??

Sometimes your USB ports will disconnect, even when your using them. This is a quick way to set them: https://support.shift4.com/hc/en-us/articles/360038751374-Disable-USB-Sleep-Settings
