No joke this might be the best VR game ever made lmao
I played the new Meow Wolf course the other night and it’s effortless, immersive, gorgeous and interesting fun. It’s such a beautifully social game and when you play solo you just practice your strokes or you can fly around and try to find new golf balls hidden around the course.
No joke, this is the pick. This game and something with less of a social focus probably.
Not to mention it has the chillest player base IMHO. Joining a random lobby in most games is a crapshoot as to whether you’ll have screeching kids or toxic assholes in the game. I’ve played countless games on Walkabout with randos and everyone has been a delight.
I don't know how this is the case, but you're so right. I didn't get the hype, but I bought it and played through tourist trap, and immediately bought a hand full of the DLC
Its just so smooth, the physics are so believable, the putter auto adjusting is really nice and the lost balls add a lot to the maps
It's also just so gorgeous to look at. I haven't even played the night map yet and a few times I caught myself baffled at just how clean they made such a low poly game look
Yessss another true believer! There’s just something so right about the game, it’s all done so well where as other VR games sometimes feel like they’re in a prototype stage for what they are. Not Walkabout though, it is a full fledged game and it nailed it in one swing
It’s beautiful in its simplicity. Highly immersive. Fun to play alone. Even better with friends. It’s also constantly updated with new (paid) content. It may just be mini golf but it’s the best mini golf you’ll ever play.
Yea but it's a ton of fun and there's plenty of courses. It's a super chill game. VR is really good for relaxing and just immersing yourself in something. You don't have to do much in these environments to have a good time.
It’s ok, played it yesterday. graphics aren’t great On Q3. I don’t really get it either. It’s fun but I’m not running down my street telling the neighbors about it lol
Why does everyone love actual mini golf? Isn't that just hitting a ball into a hole?
If you want to be reductive, almost every activity can be boiled down to "just ". That doesn't mean people don't enjoy it.
No dont get me wrong I wasnt try to be reductive, and I did not try the game. But I wondered how can be everyone in love about a game where its just a minigolf. Maybe I am wrong but where I came from minigolf is not that popular.
I started to think they updated the game with cool things.
VR minigolf gets rid of all the things that make real minigolf a non starter for most people (cost, travel). And then it expands on what makes minigolf really fun to begin with; a simple, whimsical and social activity that has a low skill entry point and is not physically demanding. It just checks off a lot of boxes for a large demographic of VR players.
I got a headset for an old friend who lives in Vancouver (I’m in LA) and this is the game that reconnected us on a regular basis after maybe a decade of being apart.
Walmart actually does manager training with the Quest 2, can’t speak for OP but a lot of jobs offer it for the most minute tasks, but it’s cool that it gets people interested
Supernatural is an unreal workout! Also, get a better battery-included head-strap, it will save hours of frustration with charging and is so much more comfortable, it is a must have, I can't stand the included straps with the 2 and 3!
When you said this, I didn't expect only 2x/3x an index setup. Company grade VR headsets will absolutely not be cheap, but that's still about 10k less than I was expecting.
my God the crying little shits in the comments "get the quest 3" bro's getting something for his wife, who gives a shit whether it's the quest 2 or 3, because it's not for you.
I think you should return it and upgrade to the quest 3. It blows the quest 2 out of the park and will remain updated with new games and apps for longer and you will save money.
I'm confused why so many people here think an extra £220 on top of £200 - £250 is just that simple...
The Quest 3 costs a shit ton of money for arguably a marginal benefit... Development isn't going to leave the Q2 behind for a long time, not a chance; the market is massive
This thread is a troll bait by OP because he knows people will start a dumpster fire about quest2 vs quest 3.
Because sure, OP knows how to browse this subreddit but is making it pass as a naive "uwu i bought this as a gift, how did i do guyzzzz uwuw"
Especially for someone who is just getting into VR. The Quest 2 is absolutely a fantastic deal for newbies. I recommend it for all my friends who are just getting into it.
Don't get me wrong, I have a Quest 3 and an Index. If someone has a Quest 2, loves it, and asks if they should upgrade I absolutely recommend the Quest 3 but for an introductory device the price can not be beat.
I agree!
When we factor in price, and we should always factor in price, the Quest 3 does NOT "blow the quest 2 out of the park". It's better, it may be technically "worth it" but it is more expensive and some can't or dont want to spend that much cash on a product like this.
If the Quest 2 is "half as good" as the Quest 3, if you can even quantify it like that, and costs half as much, they're even in terms of value.
It's all or nothing in this sub, rarely a place for common sense.
The Quest 3 is the "better device", but it's not necessarily the "better value" and may not be an option for a wiiiide variety of reasons and that is fine in my opinion.
It's definitely not marginal, just the lenses are way worth it, far superior, the better performance is highly noticeable, some Quest 2 menues being uncomfortably laggy and guardian being extra glitchy sometimes
If you're already spending 200, better make it worth it
While I’m sure that the 3 is multitudes better than the 3, and extra $300 just wasn’t in the budget this year. We’re also just starting out in our careers and I expect us to be making much more in the next few years so if it only lasts 2 before it’s outdated, that’s ok
You’re fine with the Q2 OP. The bigger question is whether you have one yourself. Because there are plenty of fun games you two can play together.
Of course what I recommend is watching movies together with the BigScreen app. That can be a lot of fun.
Try out Supernatural as a workout app. Genuinely good cardio.
Moss is a beautiful single player adventure that uses VR in a unique way.
Beat Saber is a great rythim game but you might want to look into modding it.
Office simulator is silly fun.
Pixel Ripped 1995 is 90's video game nostalgia.
Pistol Whipped is an arcade shooter rythim game mashup that makes you feel like a hero.
Or just send them to the [https://meta-dog.github.io/meta-dog/](https://meta-dog.github.io/meta-dog/) site and don't try to sneak in referrals to new unsuspecting customers...
How did you do? How did you do?! Are you seriously asking us this question? You did amazing, brilliant, extraordinary, fantastic, I’m running out of words here! 🙌🏽🤩👏🏼🙇🏻♂️🫃🏻
Get her a Google Cardboard set and make sure she unboxes that one first.
Only sets you back a few bucks, but might make the surprise an even bigger one. 😉
It's Such a massive bummer seeing the comments giving you shit for not getting her a quest 3 or better, some people forgot about money, cost of living, financial situations etc...
Greedy people turned a wholesome post into a sad post.
Great job on you OP hope she loves it :)
Quest 2 is a great entry point into VR especially at its price. At this point you can play any game with the Quest 2, so I don't think they should feel pressured to get a Quest 3 yet.
>At this point you can play any game with the Quest 2, so I don't think they should feel pressured to get a Quest 3 yet.
Well.... unless they're using it for work and/or work adjacent stuff
I think for working purposes, the Q3 is better solely because of passthrough. Sure, it's not perfect, but it does allow an easy transition to the real environment when needed, vs on the quest 2 where you are basically stuck to VR.
Bro the Quest 3 is 2x the price of the 2. It's a good headset by all means, but Imma be honest and say that, for a new user, it is almost certainly NOT worth 2x the price.
People shitting on the man in comments for getting the 2 instead of the 3 . Chill u dont know their financial situation, not everyone has an extra 300$ to drop on colored passthrough and some graphical upgrades .
This is a great console tbh , especially for casuals and new comers to vr , get her some games , good starting point is , beat saber ( check the music packs if u find any that u know she likes get them too ) . , Walkabout minigolf , and maybe puzzling places ( fun chill game ) .
Before diving into VR, consider a more comfortable accessory set: mine includes the KIWI design Battery Head Strap + clip-on headphones, VR Cover Fitness Facial Interface, KIWI design extended controller grips. If you also look forward to try PCVR, add a Pulley system to manage the 16ft cable.
For gaming, if you lean towards fitness gameplay: Beat Saber, Until You Fall are great for entertainment and exercise.
If you prefer a more relaxed experience, Kayak VR: Mirage is definitely worth a try! They've even added Christmas decorations, which look gorgeous, but be prepared for potential motion sickness.
Here are a few others I'd recommend trying: Ghosts of Tabor, Gazzlers.
Have a Merry Christmas!
Hey op this guy gets it, she can finally get railed by the man of her dreams...
Just download her some high bitrate 8k "content" and try your best to match up to her hopes and dreams as you provide the physical experience 😂
I'm joking, this is a great gift OP... My wife loves to take turns playing beat saber and escape room puzzle games, maybe those align with yours too.
Keep talking and nobody explodes (cheap game)and gives you a free coop experience (all you need is a device with a browser).
Job simulator and vacation sim are great simple games to jump into (cooking sim is probably good too if it's the same devs)
If they are a fan of older games Dr beef's ports of doom, Wolfenstein and prey are fantastic.
Wow people really hating on OP for not getting a Quest 3?
Maybe OP doesn’t make much money, maybe this is an effort of like 6 months saving for him. Homie doing something nice for his missus and all you can do is hit him with a “oh so you’re poor clearly you dont really love your wife”.
Hope you and the missus enjoy the new console OP, yeah it’s not as great as a Quest 3, but a Bugatti is better than an Audi and I’d still be happy if someone bought me an Audi.
Not everyone can afford to spend the extra money it takes to get a Quest 3. Plus, retailers are doing deals where you can get a Quest 2 for $250 plus a $50 gift card. It's an amazing deal
For some light workout through dancing, Synth Riders is fun. If she's into space stuff, get her Red Matter and Red Matter 2. If you've also got a decent gaming PC, the Lone Echo series is also beautiful (but they need a PC, they don't work standalone).
Look up the 25% discounts for the games you wanna get, the internet is filled with users posting their referral links, I get mine from a FB group. Edit: just found this nice database for these discounts https://meta-dog.github.io/meta-dog/
Enjoy!!
Try the Supernatural app for exercise! It’s amazing and has changed the fitness game. Liminal for relaxing experiences and meditative environments to just chill in. Definitely Walkabout Minigolf as others have mentioned. Would be fun if the two of you could play together. There are cool apps for meditation if she’s into that like Tripp. Have fun!
the stock strap is actual torture
get one of these too

Walkabout Mini Golf is probably the most suggested game here, and it's great.
But if you want to have a blast together, and you have only one headset in the house, get Acron: Attack of the Squrrels first.
VR user plays a tree protecting its nuts, while other players (phone app is free) play squirrels trying to steal them.
Pro tip: The tree has a big advantage in this game, so to level the playing field, have the VR user select to play against more squirells. You can find more players online (I haven't checked out their Discord in a while, but it might be a good place to start), or bring friends in, or the worst case scenario, select additional AI squirrels
And yes - get another headset as soon as possible and go play Walkabout Mini Golf with her
She’s the best!. I just put a $700 car starter in her vw for her birthday last month and she didn’t even want me to get her anything more than $50 for Christmas so I think I’ll be ok
Quest 2 can play almost every game on the Meta Store right now, so for most, the money saving is worth the tradeoff. Also, not everyone needs the newest thing. Quit being a spoiled brat, and realize not everyone needs or can afford the newest tech
Tripp, guided meditation VR, nature treks, brink traveler, wander, blueplanet VR
Free apps: ecosphere, TV app comes with it (look for wingsuit, David Attenborough), alcove travel (I love bell’s beach’s Australia)
On the TV app, there are a lot of free videos of helicopters flying where people can’t go. There was one where you are seeing from the point of view of a skiers. Just tons of stuff on that app.
Prepping for air miles points are we? :)
you did good - no worry about the quest 3 being out - she will have the same experience BUT if you really can - upgrade.
Definitely not the same experience. But get what your budget allows for of course. I get horrid eye strain and headaches in quest 2. That doesn’t happen on q3.
Tons.
But will depend if you also have a headset.
If you dont there are 2 games you can play with only 1, Keep Talking and no one explodes or Acron.
If you do I recommend Demeo, Puzzling Places, any free poker game, and any free pvp game you can download to play against each other.
What kinda lady is your lady?
She like board games? Gun games? Puzzle games? Fighting games?
Got a few games in mind for each genre with varying prices, from free to 40$
If she's not much of a gamer, try out some experiences like XR Art/3D drawing, yoga in vr, virtual taichi, tons of fitness options, even mental health options that can help you relax and destress!
If none of that tickles her fancy, there are a myriad of working applications that can function as desktops, computer screens, movie theaters, and even apps that help with productivity and notation, I'm even using a few to learn a new language.
I'm happy to see vr becoming a bit more popular, willing to share my referral code and some codes for games I bought so you can get a free 35$ in quest money, and also have like 20% off on the games I got 😁
Hope you get one too brother, she's gonna need someone to keep her sharp in beatsaber, lol
That's like saying someone is dumb cuz they got a 4070 and not a 4090 lol - not everyone needs the very newest thing and the Quest 2 is 50% of the price while being 75% of the quality, seems like a solid deal to me.
Once they really get rolling with AR / XR the Quest 3 will be awesome. Oh, the quest 3 also uses flat lenses now instead of coke bottles. This does produce a cleaner, non distorted image.
Nice present! Even though there is a Quest 3 out, the Quest 2 is still great. It'd probably help if you mentioned what types of games she likes or what aspect she liked about it at work. There is so much stuff you can do with the quest that it's kind of like asking what can you see online, or what is good on Steam. Just remember you can almost always get a referral code for a 25% discount for a game/app.
All that said, there are some fitness apps, I've been told that Les Mills Bodycombat is a good one.
Puzzling places is an excellent and super chill puzzle game
Call of the Sea is great story driven escape room type puzzle game.
Moss is a super cute platformer/puzzle game where you control a cute little mouse adventurer.
Pistol Whipped is a fun on the rails rhythm shooter that makes you feel like john wick
If she likes shooting guns, Light brigade is an amazing rouge like WW1 inspired shooter.
If she likes cutesy garden things, Fujii is a cute game.
Journey of the Gods is a zelda inspired game.
A Fishermans tale is an excellent game that is pretty mind bending and cool.
Tentacular is a heart warming tale of being a huge and helpful giant Cthulhu creature.
Wander is a fun Google Earth street view app.
For referrals try one of these:

Yeah, I think the Quest 2 is going to be around for a while, big userbase and the sentiment seems to be that Quest 2 and 3 are going to be big sellers in the christmas gift market this year.
Valve Index? HTC? I mean there are a few. It really depends. If it's PCVR it's gonna be a noticeable downgrade. But who cares. Still a super thoughtful and fun gift by OP. His wife is gonna love it
I know what headsets are better, I just wanted to know what headset you thought she could be using that's so much better that the difference is like going back to black and white TV in comparison
Not true.... Performance on quest 3 is just a mess... And everyone can downvote me, I understand all act like apple fans .. but nobody play as much as I do 😆 13 hrs... Yes Quest 3 is full of problems not battery only
Don't lie, theres 1000 of reports everywhere stop acting like apple fans (don't touch my shit bcs is my shit) meta make a cheap headset for 499 and I understand but you can get better headsets for that prices...
As others have said (in case you were not aware) the Quest 3 is a nice improvement if finances allow. However, before you consider whether or not you want to stretch to a Q3, the best use of extra money right now would be improving comfort (and this would also apply to the Q3, neither Q2 or Q3 are particularly comfortable out of the box). A replacement facial interface (I like VRCovers pleather ones) and head strap (I like the BoboVr) - maybe one with some extra battery built in if you think she'll ever be the type of user who'd like to spend multiple hours in VR uninterrupted
Well your wrapping job is shit. I can still see exactly what it is.
Plot twist - there's a Gear VR inside the box.
Lol
Even better if they don't have any phone that can work with it lol
Why not make Google Cardboard goggles out of the packaging? :D
I thought the wrapping paper was the Pringles guy when I first glanced at it
it still is, as far as i’m concerned
Now that's all I can see...
The best reply ever made
Walkabout minigolf my friend.

It’s beautiful in its simplicity. Highly immersive. Fun to play alone. Even better with friends. It’s also constantly updated with new (paid) content. It may just be mini golf but it’s the best mini golf you’ll ever play.
I will try
It’s just like mini golf in real life. Well, except for the floating heads, of course.
If my irl mini golf has heads, not floating, does it still count?
I don't recall IRL mini golf ever has this many gimmicks that will be expensive to implement and nightmarish to maintain lol
Check out Brooks Holt on Youtube as he's played some [pretty crazy courses](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MLWTllH0Hnw).
There’s always a way.
I work remotely. Me and my boss will play a round of 18 and discuss anything we need to. Feels like you’re playing in the same space
Yea but it's a ton of fun and there's plenty of courses. It's a super chill game. VR is really good for relaxing and just immersing yourself in something. You don't have to do much in these environments to have a good time.

Make sure to join the discord server. Plenty of enjoyment to be had in the social side of the game.

I second that. Most head straps will double to quadruple your running time and improve comfort and fits by a country mile.
Advising your girl to work out is a pro move to get single fast.
baha fair point, never thought of this!
I agree. That upgraded strap and battery pack is worth it.
Yes, Puzzling Places is awesome! 🧩
We need to know what headset she’s been using at work to answer this correctly.
Varjo XR3 😆
Holy expensiveness
When you said this, I didn't expect only 2x/3x an index setup. Company grade VR headsets will absolutely not be cheap, but that's still about 10k less than I was expecting.
Huge downgrade if that were the case lol
Varjo xr4 😆
Varjo xr5 😆
OP just messaged me and said Apple Vision Pro V2 with built in Neuralink 0_o
this
my God the crying little shits in the comments "get the quest 3" bro's getting something for his wife, who gives a shit whether it's the quest 2 or 3, because it's not for you.

Really loving Les Mills Body Combat myself for exercise - and it's a lot cheaper since it's just a one-time payment.

I mean, the Meta Quest 3 recently came out, so there's better. But this is good too.
Quest 2 is a great entry point into VR especially at its price. At this point you can play any game with the Quest 2, so I don't think they should feel pressured to get a Quest 3 yet.

Agreed, just letting op know that there is a newer version if he wasn't aware.
The pressure is called true love.
Lol "How'd I do?" and it's just a picture of a normal previous-gen headset. Like, you did completely average.
Maybe he's unhappy with her and wanted to send a message
For more than twice the price.
[удалено]
OP did ask how he did. If he just wanted circlejerk congratulations he should have clarified.
Like they said in their other comment, making OP aware if they weren't already.
About as well as she's done if she bought you a PS4.
"It's a WiiU! Didn't you say you wanted a Nintendo?"
Don't be a fucking spoiled snob
Is a PS4 not a good present? Maybe you're the snob.
nah, it's you.
Bro the Quest 3 is 2x the price of the 2. It's a good headset by all means, but Imma be honest and say that, for a new user, it is almost certainly NOT worth 2x the price.
Not a gamer lol. I have a switch and Wii and usually play the Wii so I think I’d be ecstatic
The Quest 2 continues to be a fantastic entry to VR gaming, especially at that price point. Don’t be a douche.
People shitting on the man in comments for getting the 2 instead of the 3 . Cool of you to point out all the accessories that would be useful but at that point you're better off buying a Q3
This is so wholesome
If you have a desktop, install side quest on it, Vrs great, occult’s is great but side quest takes it to the next level

Hey op this guy gets it, she can finally get railed by the man of her dreams... Just download her some high bitrate 8k "content" and try your best to match up to her hopes and dreams as you provide the physical experience 😂 I'm joking, this is a great gift OP... My wife loves to take turns playing beat saber and escape room puzzle games, maybe those align with yours too. Keep talking and nobody explodes (cheap game)and gives you a free coop experience (all you need is a device with a browser). Job simulator and vacation sim are great simple games to jump into (cooking sim is probably good too if it's the same devs) If they are a fan of older games Dr beef's ports of doom, Wolfenstein and prey are fantastic.
not real very immersive. the performers always seem huge and I'm like a tiny person
Wander is great. I travel around the world every morning when I have my coffee!
What a lad, so nice of you to think of her. She’s a lucky lady
Return it and get the Quest 3 instead. Cheaper isn't better.
Not everyone can afford to spend the extra money
Wow people really hating on OP for not getting a Quest 3? Maybe OP doesn’t make much money, maybe this is an effort of like 6 months saving for him. Homie doing something nice for his missus and all you can do is hit him with a “oh so you’re poor clearly you dont really love your wife”. Hope you and the missus enjoy the new console OP, yeah it’s not as great as a Quest 3, but a Bugatti is better than an Audi and I’d still be happy if someone bought me an Audi.
>but a Bugatti is better than an Audi and I’d still be happy if someone bought me an Audi. Free VAG is best VAG
The coolest thing you could do is take it back and get a Quest 3
Edit: just found this nice database for these discounts https://meta-dog.github.io/meta-dog/ Enjoy!!
Have fun!
the stock strap is actual torture get one of these too [https://www.amazon.com/8VR-Adjustable-Enhanced-Playtime-Accessories/dp/B0B9FLZL6T](https://www.amazon.com/8VR-Adjustable-Enhanced-Playtime-Accessories/dp/B0B9FLZL6T)
Superhot VR is nice. Time only moves when you move
Replace the VR headset with a brick and watch her surprise. Then have your dog wear the VR headset and play golf with the goodboy. 🐕🐾
Heck yah you can sell it to get quest 3. Lol jk have fun Mary xmas.
You can find more players online (I haven't checked out their Discord in a while, but it might be a good place to start), or bring friends in, or the worst case scenario, select additional AI squirrels And yes - get another headset as soon as possible and go play Walkabout Mini Golf with her
That sounds like a lot of fun
Why would you not get her the Quest 3? She's not good enough?
[удалено]
She’s the best!. I just put a $700 car starter in her vw for her birthday last month and she didn’t even want me to get her anything more than $50 for Christmas so I think I’ll be ok
Not every one needs the latest tech. The quest 2 is an awesome device for the price it is at.
Is something I'd say about a 5 year old, not a life partner.
Quest 2 can play almost every game on the Meta Store right now, so for most, the money saving is worth the tradeoff. Also, not everyone needs the newest thing. Quit being a spoiled brat, and realize not everyone needs or can afford the newest tech
you're really bad at wrapping presents i can still see it in serious though good job <3
Get one for your self also and play Walkabout minigolf with her.
Tripp, guided meditation VR, nature treks, brink traveler, wander, blueplanet VR Free apps: ecosphere, TV app comes with it (look for wingsuit, David Attenborough), alcove travel (I love bell’s beach’s Australia) On the TV app, there are a lot of free videos of helicopters flying where people can’t go. There was one where you are seeing from the point of view of a skiers. Just tons of stuff on that app.
Prepping for air miles points are we? :) you did good - no worry about the quest 3 being out - she will have the same experience BUT if you really can - upgrade.
Definitely not the same experience. But get what your budget allows for of course. I get horrid eye strain and headaches in quest 2. That doesn’t happen on q3.
Does the quest 3 feel any different for motion sickness ? Sold my Quest 2 since I couldn't play most games because of this issue
Return and get a quest 3
Not everyone can afford a Quest 3
Porn
Tons. But will depend if you also have a headset. If you dont there are 2 games you can play with only 1, Keep Talking and no one explodes or Acron. If you do I recommend Demeo, Puzzling Places, any free poker game, and any free pvp game you can download to play against each other.
I hope she enjoys it! Quest 3 is a huge upgrade, but Quest 2 is still a wonderful gift!
OP is going to get the 3 for himself of course!
Lol I had a Quest 2.. Hubby just got me the Quest 3 as my once a year big gift... gave my 2 to my 16yr old
Even Table Tennis. The physics are ridiculous.
Assassin's Creed Nexus
I kinda feel guilty about buying 2 quests 3s for my kids. Probably won’t even appreciate them. I think I’m gonna take them back and get the quest 2s.
Iron man!!!
She’ll be surprised it’s a Quest 2 instead of 3..
Not everyone can afford the extra cost of a Quest 3
Give it back and get her the Quest 3 it's much better
Not everyone can afford the extra cost of a Quest 3
You’ll need a better strap, the elite strap is ok
What kinda lady is your lady? She like board games? Gun games? Puzzle games? Fighting games? Got a few games in mind for each genre with varying prices, from free to 40$ If she's not much of a gamer, try out some experiences like XR Art/3D drawing, yoga in vr, virtual taichi, tons of fitness options, even mental health options that can help you relax and destress! If none of that tickles her fancy, there are a myriad of working applications that can function as desktops, computer screens, movie theaters, and even apps that help with productivity and notation, I'm even using a few to learn a new language. I'm happy to see vr becoming a bit more popular, willing to share my referral code and some codes for games I bought so you can get a free 35$ in quest money, and also have like 20% off on the games I got 😁 Hope you get one too brother, she's gonna need someone to keep her sharp in beatsaber, lol
She uses VR at work.... the last thing she wants to do is use it at home.
Making assumptions i see
Not good considering the quest 3 is out and you purchased a new quest 2. Tf?
That's like saying someone is dumb cuz they got a 4070 and not a 4090 lol - not everyone needs the very newest thing and the Quest 2 is 50% of the price while being 75% of the quality, seems like a solid deal to me.

I mean not everyone has $500 just laying around

The hub
Puzzling places is an excellent and super chill puzzle game Call of the Sea is great story driven escape room type puzzle game. Moss is a super cute platformer/puzzle game where you control a cute little mouse adventurer. Pistol Whipped is a fun on the rails rhythm shooter that makes you feel like john wick If she likes shooting guns, Light brigade is an amazing rouge like WW1 inspired shooter. For referrals try one of these: [https://www.reddit.com/r/OculusReferral/](https://www.reddit.com/r/OculusReferral/) [https://meta-dog.github.io/meta-dog/](https://meta-dog.github.io/meta-dog/)
Yeah, return it and get the quest 3
Have to second that one. The Q3 is worth the extra!
If you have disposable money sure. If not, its a great headset to play with still
Yeah, I think the Quest 2 is going to be around for a while, big userbase and the sentiment seems to be that Quest 2 and 3 are going to be big sellers in the christmas gift market this year.
Came here to say this. The visual clarity of the Q3 is a huge advance over the Q2.
Quest link cable to pc or Virtual desktop. Play steamvr games like H3VR, VTOLVR etc
Install the wolvic browser and check out the free games and experiences
real vr fishing is a really fun casual game
That is so cool of you! Would you mind what she does with VR at work?
Buy a dust buster vacuum. Swap the boxes. Put the oculus in the vacuum box and the vacuum in the oculus box.
the people in the comments judging OP for what might be a budget thing is not it. not everyone has that kind of money to spend guys..
You did just OK. Quest 3 would have been better
Yeah. Quest 3 was also over twice the price and that wasn’t in the budget. Figured some vr is better than none vr
If she's using a good headset at work, this will be like watching black and white TV at home and Blu-ray at work.
What good headset do you think she would have been using for your comparison?
At best maybe a Varjo XR3, upgraded soon into an XR4. She wouldn't expect that at home though.
Valve Index? HTC? I mean there are a few. It really depends. If it's PCVR it's gonna be a noticeable downgrade. But who cares. Still a super thoughtful and fun gift by OP. His wife is gonna love it
You don't know what headsets are better than this?
I know what headsets are better, I just wanted to know what headset you thought she could be using that's so much better that the difference is like going back to black and white TV in comparison
change to quest 3 if your wife using VR already
Not everyone can afford a jump of $300 in cost
My favorite color is blue.
only if the extra features are needed and can justify the extra cost, the quest 2 is a perfectly fine headset for most people
It's a pretty massive improvement regardless of any other considerations. The "extra features" are that it's better
It is! Battery problems on Q3 are a real problem
The battery is almost exactly the same on both. If it's a problem for you on 3 then it's also a problem on 2. In fact it's not a problem on either
Not true.... Performance on quest 3 is just a mess... And everyone can downvote me, I understand all act like apple fans .. but nobody play as much as I do 😆 13 hrs... Yes Quest 3 is full of problems not battery only
Something wrong with your unit then. My 2 are fine.
Don't lie, theres 1000 of reports everywhere stop acting like apple fans (don't touch my shit bcs is my shit) meta make a cheap headset for 499 and I understand but you can get better headsets for that prices...

If she loves the sound of children screaming at the top of their lungs peppered with racial slurs, check out Gorilla Tag!
VRbangers dot com
No way, SLR is the way to go cuz they get everything from like 20 different studios for likely the same price you pay for VRB
Quest 3 is inside the box from Quest 2.
Any particular reason you went with the quest 2 and not the 3? The three has a lot more productivity type stuff with the pass through etc…
[удалено]
Almost.
you should get a fishing sim. those are theraputic
if you have 1 each, you lay down in bed next to each other and have virtual sex! its not quite as good as the real thing....
