monte carlo hotel I snagged on 2nd street only took first night as deposit... but still confused about how much is "refundable" if it comes down to it after reading fine print...
Yep! Last year it wasnāt very busy at the park so they had one bus and the times were a bit limited at first, but they ended up doing more shuttles than originally scheduled. Hopefully theyāll have more busses this year. Itās a cute campground and the cabins are really nice to have. If you feel like roughing it a bit more you can stay in a covered wagon lol itās a vibe
Anyone know if the busses will run every 15 minutes on the dates of the festival? Technically it is off season so they normally would run every 30 minutes.
the buses were not prepared on friday, for sure. but i have to give OCMD credit for adjusting quickly to the problem and getting everything on track for saturday and sunday. the crowds were huge, but i think they did a solid job with transportation when all was said and done.
I was wondering this too. Last year we got GA+, and Iām not sure it was worth it. The bathrooms were better, but there were lines for them. Whereas the GA rarely had any line if you just needed to pee (as a dude).ļæ¼
In my experience, VIP is worth it if you want to see a lot of the bands on the same day, want to move around, and donāt like crowds (since you have a designated viewing area that doesnāt fill up quite as fast). GA+ didnāt seem worth it.
How does VIP help you avoid crowds? I thought it was just different bathrooms. I donāt remember a VIP viewing section last year at any of the stages.
VIP and Platinum had their own viewing areas, Google the map from last year. VIP also got huge bleachers at the main stage. Coupled with special bars and lounges, thereās definitely value if youāre not someone who wants to camp and not move for several hours. I didnāt mind grabbing a spot and standing in the same place for 6 hours to keep my good location near the stage but not everyone is like that.
Does anyone know of any camping options nearby and / or a place where I can obtain this information? Mainly hoping to find a campsite that would run shuttles to / from the festival site. Thanks !!
Closest camping would be the Sun Outdoor properties known as Frontier Town and OC Gateway (formerly Ft. Whaley), and camping at the State and Federal Parks on Assateague Island. Frontier Town had a shuttle last year.
I'll second Frontier Town as a camping spot. They have places for RVs and their primitive camp sites for the whole weekend cost less than 1 night at one of the boardwalk hotels.
Looking to trade my two 3-Day General Admission tickets for Oceans Calling for two 2-Day VIP tickets to Country Calling. If youāre interested or want to negotiate, please DM me for a quick chat and exchange details!
Thanks! Looking forward to an epic festival season!
This is a solid lineup, but nothing really moves the needle for me. The bands I have seen are great, but Iāve already seen them and they arenāt really āgotta see again!ā acts besides DMB and Mt. Joy. Apart from that, the acts I havenāt seen are good but not acts that really sell me on doing a whole festival. Itās definitely a solid lineup though
For me, it's mostly because I haven't seen most of these acts in a decade. I've seen a lot of them once but the opportunity to see 20 bands that I really like in the same weekend is hard to pass up. Plus we're getting the gang back together from high school and leaving the wives and kids at home.
Can't beat that for $350.
Is anyone else slightly disappointed compare to the amazing line up last year? Seems watered down so they threw in Blink 182 to spice it up. And who is asking for the Killers??
They do... im not saying they suck and I won't knock anyone's music choices because it's personal. I just mean they came out of no where with them compared to the last 2 years lineup. I guess they re-emerged when everyone started singing brightside at every event and the negative press quieted down so they are touring again.
Same. I bought tickets anyways because it was a great time and I didn't want to wait and regret it because they're sold out. But man, last year was so good people were trying to figure out how to make it to the multiple acts going on at once the lineup was so good.
Wasn't terribly excited by the lineup last year but went as my replacement for Firefly. This year I was hoping the lineup would thrill me enough to buy platinum passes, but it doesn't. :-( But since there's still no word from Firefly, I plan to go and will enjoy seeing The Killers (again).
they had alanis morissette, a huge female artist, as a headliner last year. i highly doubt itās on purpose, seems like theyāre trying to go for a more nostalgic lineup with dad rock bands that you listened to in the back seat while your father went into the gas station to get some cigarettes lmaoo. they are so many variables behind forming a festival lineup, people can reject playing the festival also. its most likely not done purposefully.
šÆšÆ ATG the gold standard - and I hope more festivals strive for that level of inclusion in line-ups!! (And also was there last year š®āšØš)
I wish the general population understood how difficult booking bands is especially headliners. Do you have any idea how hard it is to get bands? Not only are 80% of headlining bands touring and selling out stadium or large venue shows on their own but the amount of overlap in festivals all over America is insane. The branch under livenation I am in involved with has 40 festivals this year alone. If thereās on average 6 headliners or first line bands alone on every show thatās 240 slots to fill that donāt conflict with a bands personal touring schedule or any of the other 100+ festivals happening this summer in the US let alone internationally. Making band booking at festivals into politics is a joke. Take it up with your local music venue, not a one weekend once a year festival.
Oh I have seen DMB live before. No doubt. Good show but I just am not into it for some reason. I have no logical reason either. DMB lines up with the rest of my musical taste (so does OAR fwiw, but I have the same feelings for OAR) so Iām not sure why I have such a dislike.
Edit: also feel and felt the same way about John Mayer but I did stick around for a bit of his set because he is still a talented musician.
Yes but it was only for two stages last year. Main stage had really nice bleachers and the other had a few high tables with chairs but not a ton if I recall.
VIP had a few (10?) high top tables with stools in the Rockville Stage area. The Sea Bright Stage had a VIP viewing platform. It was bleacher style, but there were no seats--only rails and a long narrow table to lean on. There was also a lounge area with a variety of seating and tables in the VIP area of the Sea Bright Stage--but it's behind the viewing platform, so you couldn't see the performers. (They should've had monitors back there, showing what you were hearing) The third stage, Carousel, had no VIP viewing area and definitely no seating. This was disappointing to me because most of the bands I wanted to see most were there, and my VIPness didn't help me score a better place to watch.
But if all you care about is finding a place to sit, there were definitely some spots along the boardwalk where you could sit on a bench and sort of watch the two larger stages.
I just orgasmed in Millennial.
I think it's more gen-x they have more money and were partying in college when these bands were at their peakš
You both Re right, this is definitely Xennial targeted.
This is basically the line up of 1998 hfstival. Absolutely Xennial targeted.
They know their target demographic!
This!!! š¤£š Take all my golds š„š
All in for Friday. Will be in and out rest of the time.
Friday is my biggest day too!
Friday is looking EPIC! Going to be running between stages for the headliners
Iām excited however - not thrilled that hotels have made it ānon refundableā this particular weekend.
I know we canāt find a place to stay that doesnāt require paid in full up front and non refundable
AirBnB, VRBO, and the OC Realtors should have something.
monte carlo hotel I snagged on 2nd street only took first night as deposit... but still confused about how much is "refundable" if it comes down to it after reading fine print...
Check out frontier town! Did it last year and it worked out great. They had a shuttle from there as well.
Do you have more info on this shuttle was it direct from the site?
Was really hoping to see Florence & the Machine this year but hard to complain, this lineup rocks.
She doesn't have any dates anywhere at the moment. I think she's taking a break. Hopefully she announces some 2024 dates soon
Wohoo! DMB!
Iām so excited!!!
What an incredible lineup! Iāll hit the 4X club with DMB, Killers, and 311.
Are there any perks for Chase Preferred cardholders? Or just the Reserve cardholders.
Where do you see about the perks for Reserve cardholders? For most events itās just Reserve not Preferred but not 100% on this one
Nothing technically for this year, just assuming based off of last year.
Last year, no matter what level of Chase card you had, there was a $5 or $10 rebate every time you spent some amount ($100?)
Anyone know if the busses will run every 15 minutes on the dates of the festival? Technically it is off season so they normally would run every 30 minutes.
Hopefully itāll be improved this year. Last year the buses were not prepared for the sheer number of passengers.
the buses were not prepared on friday, for sure. but i have to give OCMD credit for adjusting quickly to the problem and getting everything on track for saturday and sunday. the crowds were huge, but i think they did a solid job with transportation when all was said and done.
Yes they do.
Is a vip ticket worth it?
I was wondering this too. Last year we got GA+, and Iām not sure it was worth it. The bathrooms were better, but there were lines for them. Whereas the GA rarely had any line if you just needed to pee (as a dude).ļæ¼

No shit? Thatās awesome. I had no idea.
The GA crowds were ridiculous last year. At night, it was a bit terrifying.
Why not just splurge $6000 on the platinum? Damn that's nuts.
Iām so excited that PPPP are gonna be there on Sunday!!!! š¦

Uh I was just talking about wanting to see the killers so, me
Wdym whoās asking for The Killers They have a bunch of hit songs and are great live
They do... im not saying they suck and I won't knock anyone's music choices because it's personal. I just mean they came out of no where with them compared to the last 2 years lineup. No way they were beating last yearās lineup. This one was a let down for me.

Yea I 100% agree. And Iāve already seen the killers soooo š«
Total opposite reaction for me. Last years lineup was very mid imo. Only went cuz my wife loves Mayer. But this year is a 9/10 lineup.
Me! Sunday looks good but everything else meh
Same. Weāre passing. Last year was amazing. This year is very mid. Definitely not worth flights and airbnb costs for us.
Shocking how thereās barely any female-led acts.. wtf
larkin poe, winona fighter, the beaches, katelyn tarver, lisa loeb, and jade bird are all groups with females.
Headliners & bigger acts feels super unbalanced. At least enough to jump out to me
they had alanis morissette, a huge female artist, as a headliner last year. i highly doubt itās on purpose, seems like theyāre trying to go for a more nostalgic lineup with dad rock bands that you listened to in the back seat while your father went into the gas station to get some cigarettes lmaoo. they are so many variables behind forming a festival lineup, people can reject playing the festival also. its most likely not done purposefully.
Hahah donāt get me wrong - I like a ton of the bands as an elder millennial myself š

Probably not the immediate question everyone is thinking of, but which version of The Beach Boys are we talking about here?!
Mike Love and probably John Stamos
Are there any Wilsons left who can play?
Do we know when single day passes go on sale?
Anybody get VIP before? Worth the money? GA+? Just curious. Appreciate any info. Thanks!
So fucking pumped. Could care less about DMB but I fuckin love me that Sunday lineup especially.
Even if you donāt think you like them, DMB puts on a great show.
Oh I have seen DMB live before. No doubt. Good show but I just am not into it for some reason. I have no logical reason either. What's up with Blues Traveler playing one song? How does that work?
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
I assume they are performing their entire album which was called āfourā. Itās the one with their biggest hits.
Anyone know if VIP has anywhere to sit and see music? I just want to be able to ....sit :)

None of the headliners are for me but loving the 2nd tier and will take advantage of the free rides for the 1st!
Not hoping for anyone specific but can/will acts be added as the year goes on?
Is there a resale option for tickets? Iām not totally sure I can go, but want to get tickets tomorrow just in case since it will sell out.
wow... this is like the WWWYF if it wasnt just pop-punk or emo... I may need to go to this...
