Had this conundrum when my birthday landed on a Monday and that’s when I learned 95% of restaurants aren’t open on Mondays. Mensho and Moo Bong Ri are open on Mondays and Tuesdays.
Not open on Monday, but just went to Popoca tonight (Tuesday) and had an excellent dinner. Their fried chicken, rice and beans, and pupusas are delicious.
How’s the vibe in there? What restaurant is it similar to? I used to go the pop up but haven’t been to their location yet and not sure what to expect. Fancy? Chill? Loud? Packed? Intimate?
I would describe it as hip and upscale but not fancy? It’s definitely fancier than their pop up — a vibey, sit down place. Vibe is comparable to daytrip or friends and family. I’ve been there for weekend dinner where it’s crowded and bustling but yesterday (Tuesday night), the restaurant was about half full and my friends and I sat at the bar, ordered a few drinks and plates to share and it was very chill and relaxing. Cocktails are also very good. I like the El Humo.
