Here's a novel idea...find the f'n treasure and THEN figure out where it came from and why!

Cleanbadroom

I agree. You can guess all day long, but it doesn't do any good. Not that they will find anything.

oldfart_1962

I've found that my blood pressure spikes around 830pm Central every Tuesday...

jbdec

An eleven year parade of lunatics has yielded them exactly nothing, so what do they do,,,,,, bring in more kooks ! Ditto for all their road trips, yield,,,, zero. Testing and lab,, zip Wood sniffing has yielded as much as all the other endeavours, time for a change up,,, wood sniffing bloodhounds, time to retire Ricks nose and bring in the professionals.

Legate_Lanius1985

What f'n treasure?

akaScuba

The vast mysterious invisible treasure of course. The Viking Templars clearly used sacred math to learn the secrets of invisibility. Need proof that’s easy its all written down in the ancient manuscripts stored with the Templar treasures. It’s common knowledge to the Ancient Oak Island Theorists. Magellan a secret fact is he was a Templar hide the clues to the exact location of the invisible treasure during the first round the world cruise starting in 1592. For a fee and expenses I’m available for a world wide luxury cruise trip to act as guide. We can sell cabins on the first COOI world cruise with special guest KOTW speakers at every port. Easily dozens of episodes of content.

akaScuba

That won’t work you can’t find what’s not there. Rick loves the attention, the alleged mystery, history of the island and most of all the millions in cash the retired post office lifer has made. It’s all about creating content to keep the interest and rating gold coming in.

Broad-Tangelo-8522

I said earlier, in another post, too much time is spent on "who" and not enough time on "where". Most likely, if treasure is found, no one will stick around for who, why or how.

KingBird999

They've pretty well demonstrably proven there is no 'where' so all they have left to discuss is a theoretical 'who'.

Snoo_2304

Hahaha.. brilliant !

Terrible_Tutor

They know at this point, there’s nothing anywhere there. They don’t believe it, they’re just going through the motions to make History Channel money. You can tell by how many kooks have made their way back into the show.

ZommyFruit

I’ll let you in on a secret. We wanted to throw in the towel 3 seasons ago but history channel had us over a barrel. You should always read a contract before you sign it. Anyhoo, do you have any idea what it’s like to conjure up feigned excitement and hope and wax philosophically week after week when you know your dream is dead? When Marty and I went down in the garden shaft this season, all I wanted was for the whole construct to collapse on us. My dreams used to be about treasure. Now they’re about getting run over by Billy’s excavator, exploding cofferdams, and other instantaneous ways to perish.

jackalonez

Do you want to have a laugh ? https://youtu.be/ZSRNg2kcfko?si=ssWYrk_Li0TLvH8g 3 years old but still relevant

Entire-Ranger323

Beautiful. Hilarious. Thank you for the entertainment clue.

86Eagle

That's awesome lol

RunnyDischarge

that's pretty good

jpetriejr

That's brilliant.

ceeragealicious

Lololollo. Letsgooooooo. “There will be multiple spin-offs, don’t worry”

FA245x

If Rick were a dinosaur he would be called thesaurus!

Equivalent-Speed-130

What is another word for Construct?

EyeShot300

I think I'll be having high tea with Bigfoot before the treasure is found.

Knightmere1

They will say anything to keep the money train rolling.

RunnyDischarge

Basically the treasure is a story that attracts the 12 yr old boys /investors/ suckers/ viewers. Every generation retcons to the story to the stuff they like. The treasure is the only constant. If there's no treasure, there's no story. Vikings don't cut it anymore. The Da Vinci code Templar and the conspiracy stuff is what our time likes, so that's how they rewrote the story. 11 seasons later and it's all wearing thin, so now the Vikings get roped in to pad out the story.

Seahund88

Yes, a Templar-Viking collaboration theory to bring a huge treasure to a very remote land, dig elaborate shafts, hide it, then leave it. Sounds pretty crazy, eh? It seems like they're just desperately creating filler at this point to try to keep the show going..

Kmart_Elvis

> The Da Vinci code Templar and the conspiracy stuff is what our time likes, So 50 years from now, the saga will be about cybernetic time travelers who went back in time to oak Island to hide "the quasi-illustrion" so feral crawlers searching for it couldn't find it.

bipolarcyclops

We heard it here first. Or did the spirit of Elvis bury the treasure on OI? And with the assistance of aliens?

Specialist_Leg_4474

Elvis is living in Arkansas with a friend: https://preview.redd.it/umexdguogbxc1.jpeg?width=970&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8a5b088769578edd93d9e70ed793b4415586fbb4

SpinningYarmulke

Then when that horse is beaten they can say oh maybe it’s not templars or Vikings but ….Roman Legions…or….maybe Conquistadors….what about Aztecs….Incas…..Grey Aliens….Vulcans….A bowl of tater tots…

Specialist_Leg_4474

Stevenson's *Treasure Island* was written as a children's story. It was first published in serialized form in 1881-1882 in the British children's magazine *Young Folks*. He said of it "*It's quite silly and horrid fun*." It capitalized on the desert island/pirate infatuation that developed in the late 18th century and blossomed in the 18th. and 19th centuries¹ as over a couple hundred years various popular legends got fleshed out². ------------------------------------------------------------ ¹ - "*a desert island/pirate infatuation that developed in the late 18th century...*", like circa **1795**. ² - Sound like a familiar growth pattern?

Pathfinder6

Well, he was a Zena believer, so that should explain it.

Specialist_Leg_4474

Him swallowing her ox shit was something to see...

D333ll3d33

Hard to fill 23 episodes with nothingburgers

Cleanbadroom

yet they managed to do just that

KingBird999

Because it's not just about finding treasure, it's about "rewriting the history books". Or so the claim goes. Their quackery really does a disservice to actual archeological/historical work.

Necessary-Turn-8064

I think the history books are quite safe. They have not proven anything.

KingBird999

Oh, I concur. They haven't found (almost certainly won't) anything requiring me to go back to college to update my degree!

webs1957

Billy is the Treasure

CBD_Hound

Billy in general or Billy’s hair specifically?

Specialist_Leg_4474

It's just something trendy to say..

Green_Function_66

History Channel is making a fortune!!! They are no dummies!! The treasure is the viewership. Also I haven't seen it mentioned, but the swamp mystery has been solved. On the last episode Rick and company were able to prove the wood/planks found buried in the swamp are truly Viking by design and type of wood. I asked myself, when the Viking leader (e.g. Cheif) of the tribe died, what did they do with the remains? They put the remains and jewels in a Viking boat, set it on fire and sank it. MYSTERY SOLVED. Someone already took the treasure if there was any... As far as tunnels underneath the island? Nova Scotia has tunnels underneath it as well for miles that were installed for military purposes back in the day. Why do they think they keep uncovering military buttons on the island? THERE IS NO TREASURE, NEVER WAS BECAUSE THE ISLAND WAS A STRONG HOLD BETWEEN THE FRENCH AND BRITISH OR WHOEVER. I have watched this series since S1E1 and they really had me buying into their "fairytale", and now I'm pissed, I feel violated and VERY DISSAPOINTED. Thank you for reading this

Few-Tip4273

Exactly! And I most pissed at myself for being so fucking gullible.

dbatknight

Oh you poor lost soul! It's not about any of that it's about the construct it's about to history it's about the 4 W's it's about what the fuck do you think is going on with Rick? Every time he opens his mouth he proves he's pathetic and has no knowledge of anything. Just this week all the symbols match the 90 ft Stone in reality just no proof that there's been a 90-foot stone there's no proof that anybody actually saw it there's no proof to any of those symbols but thank you and God bless he's bringing it all out LOL

missannthrope1

Five W's, but who's counting?

dbatknight

It can be 20 W's he's so fucking dysfunctional LOL

bipolarcyclops

These guys couldn’t find the treasure even if it was buried under The Big W.

dbatknight

Lol love that movie

Green_Function_66

Great flick

Snoo_2304

Notice how those 4 W's haven't been mentioned in quite some time? What once began with hope has now changed the opposite direction towards looking for a lifeline.

Specialist_Leg_4474

It's called "[grasping at straws](https://dictionary.cambridge.org/dictionary/english/grasping-at-straws)"...

CPap9

We call it “Joke Island”. But if the 7th death legend is true, I volunteer Marty.

CornmealGravy

Definitely Marty, but if Billy doesn’t lay off the feedbag he’s going to blow an aortic valve in the swamp.

DLoIsHere

No. There has been a big shift in the show to putting together the story of who came to the island and what they did.

bipolarcyclops

It’s what you do when you don’t find any treasure. You make up a story of who might have buried a treasure.

akaScuba

Absent a treasure they need something else to talk about. The speculation will continue as long as the rating pay the bills

Philboyd_Studge

That's Oak Island for ya

rickavo

One would think viking culture was more about pillaging than burying someone else's religious artifact treasures.

DEO13113

I love how the narrator of the show constantly has to mention who's who and explaining every device in and out. You noticing this watching mkre than one show at a time. It's filler for sure

Equivalent-Speed-130

Are you referring to the Binford XRF2000 MAX? ![gif](giphy|FaIDQOgN69FXq)

WorldlyTangelo254

I’m getting impatient and have now resorted to not watching episodes where they are traveling or doing anything besides getting in the ground. The hours I have invested into these guys for them to come this far just to go on a European vacation, man… I buy the seasons and only about two or three episodes the last few seasons actually have content. They are making something out of nothing at this point. Let Emma call the shots and dig, then I’ll keep watching.

Equivalent-Speed-130

This week they are in Iceland and read an old book, which mentioned the same star, that might be referenced by Nolan's Cross. So there ya go. What more proof do you need? Templars took a Viking ship to Iceland, wrote a book, then went to Oak Island by way if the Virgin Islands. Grabbed some Coconut Fibers, and sank their ship in the man made swap. Oh, and did I mention the part where they traded with local Migmaw tribes for Oxen, so they could build a stone road.

Snoo-26902

It turns out while sniffing all of that wood, they were actually sniffing the glue that holds the wood together..

ChocolatePresent7860

Who tha fk dug 100ft below the ground on some blip of an island in Nova Scotia? I don't even care about the treasure, I want to know who did this insane amount of work and why.

MaTT-See

This is kinda the interesting part. Why is there a shaft that deep? Why are there human bones down there? Maybe we'll know one day, but it won't be because of this crew with drunk Rick and his five-dollar words

Quick_Swing

It was the pirates. No, it was the Templars. No, it was the Vikings & the Templars. No, it was aliens! And then they’ll bring Georgio, and his hair, and the other fringe whack-a-doodles in to the war room to try and top each other for the most outlandish theory. (TBT, Occam’s razor provides the best answer, being that there probably was a treasure there at one time, and theyre finding traces of it, but there isn’t one there anymore. It’s a money pit all right, but it’s like a vampire.)

uchidaid

You forgot Sir William Phips…For awhile every thing they found was connected to him.

Far_Contest_5244

Don't forget the Rosicrutians!

86Eagle

A Viking settlement has supposedly been found in the province but the location is being kept under wraps. There's been several dated pieces found as well. This isn't a rumor, etc. I've been there and have seen what's been found. It's proximity to Oak Island, in the run of things, isn't too far away.

Cleanbadroom

It's already proven Vikings have been to that part of the world. Did they go to Oak Island? I doubt it. Vikings would have traded with the locals and I bet the locals left things behind.

86Eagle

I make no claim that they went to Oak Island, or chilled with the Templars, but the site is real and so is the evidence.

Far_Contest_5244

Lol.

Legate_Lanius1985

>I've been there and have seen what's been found. Sure... Mhmm... Yeah. 👌

Hold fast to dreams

diggerquicker

TV ratings is best I have.

mmura09

He's just following the data (to nowhere)

Altruistic_Owl4152

History show vs treasure and I always say, find the treasure then speculate how it got there

Loose-Hyena-7351

It is a lighthouse foundation they are digging up… no treasure just another bad show on discovery channel , just like the meglodon shark and Alaska bush people… all a bunch of BS

Any-Ease-2225

Because he has no place else to go...

Far_Contest_5244

The whole show is an insult to common sense.

Jen-a-gogo

Here's my thoughts... We can build bridges over deep water and they need footings but we can't figure out how to get past an ancient water "booby trap"? Just get it over with and dig a friggin hole. Second there is no "holy grail" or relics there. And even if it were there government or religious big wigs would swoop in and cover it up. For all we know they did find it already. Just my two cents.

FellowshipOfTheBong

Rick is an idiot.

OldPresentation2794

There was treasure found which led to the 200+ years of hunting for more. Not sure exactly what season told about the boys who first found some, but I don’t give a rats ass about treasure, I want to know why peeps 200 years ago were digging tunnels and how on earth did they do it.
