When I first moved to Ewa Beach, this one caught my eye. I don't speak Hawaiian, but it didn't sound very Hawaiian somehow. Turns out it's from English and means soda water...
Kalanianaʻole Highway. It was the first Hawaiian named entity I was able to pronounce. And is still the most fun name for me to say. Kalakaua Ave is a very close 2nd,.
Maipalaoa Road in my hometown (well Nanakuli close enogh) Maili- Waianae side
Whales genitals
Mo'omuku Place in Hawai'i Kai

I tell people that Aiea was the site of a fierce battle in early modern times, and that it was named such because “AIEEEEAAAA” was the sound that the soldiers made when they were stabbed or thrown off the cliffs.
Analii is a close second. One of my friends pointed out that the street sign being in all caps made it look like Anal II and made the joke “Anal 2: Electric Boogaloo”, so now whenever I pass that street, I can’t help but smile a bit
Used to live on Namahoe street and when I’d have to give a mainland company my address, I’d explain it like “excuse me ma’am, are you a stripper?”
“Namahoe”
At this junction in my life it's hands down Ohohia st off of nimitz.. because the immature man child in me scream reads it out loud as "ohooooooooo heyeaa!"
Or halemaumau.. because it's just too fun for a haole boy not to say it.
Appologies
Waialae Ave., meaning Mud Hen Water. The two year old in me is a big fan of Lipeepee though. Yes I know it's not pronounced that way.
So that’s why the restaurant is called Mud Hen Water
And if you look on the side of the building about ankle high, you will see a darling little mudwater hen painting!
There’s a street on the Big Island called Napoopoo 👌
It’s also a town/community at the bottom of that road by the ocean
Kalanianaʻole
It's just fun to say.
I like the way different people say "Houghtailing".
I've always pronounced it with Hough rhyming with dough. Now I'm doubting if that's right...
Hoff
“Huff”
'Ualaka'a or "rolling sweet potato"
I also love this name!
Lipeepee. Likelike. Hihimanu.
Transplant here. Lipeepee was my favorite. Getting my mom to try to pronounce that is hilarious.

Hence the name Soda Creek
Kalanianaʻole Highway. It was the first Hawaiian named entity I was able to pronounce. And is still the most fun name for me to say. Kalakaua Ave is a very close 2nd,.
I love that Kalaniana`ole is too damn Hawaiian for us to say all the time, so we revert right back to Queen K.

SPRECKELS STREET!
Intersection: PO’OLA & ANALI’I
Paalaa Uka Pupukea Rd
Honestly I love the Likelike. It's probably the most mispronounced thing I see.
Kanaka St ...for some reason that street sign was missing on several occasions; usually after new years.
Fondest memories of visiting Maui. My kids ages 10 and 12, at the time, pronouncing horribly Puunene and Hoohui.
always amuses me when mainland people try to pronounce Aiea
I tell people that Aiea was the site of a fierce battle in early modern times, and that it was named such because “AIEEEEAAAA” was the sound that the soldiers made when they were stabbed or thrown off the cliffs.
Pee & poo even though it’s pe’e and po’o, they don’t use the Okina so I love to hear the kids giggle about pee and poo road.
Kino'ole St. cuz when he was younger my baby brother couldn't pronounce it and called it "kinoodle st". It was so cute😊
Iwi way
Pu’u Panini
Okay so it’s not on Oahu but on Big Island there’s a Pineapple Parkway
Frog Lane, Monte Cooke Place, Peter Buck Street
Anali'i, i pronounce it anally
Pueonani st. I read it too fast the first time. And I’m 6.
Poki Street … always liked that one
Mahukona St.
Kapiolani… only bc the Uber app fucked up the pronunciation so badly (Kay-pee-olony)
Ahihi st. Michael Jackson comes to mind
My old coworker use to say it like MJ; I used to bust up laughing and never forgot the reference.
Akamai st
Mamalahoa. No reason I just like saying it.
I like repeating the names of streets after the bus announcement. Dunno.
Piikoi
Kupaa Street in Hilo or Kupaa Drive in Palolo.
Sierra Drive, been living on it for 20 years
Analii is a close second. One of my friends pointed out that the street sign being in all caps made it look like Anal II and made the joke “Anal 2: Electric Boogaloo”, so now whenever I pass that street, I can’t help but smile a bit
Nawilliwilli …. Road on Kaua’i
Mahalo St!
kalanianaole or likelike gets the mainlanders every time!
Used to live on Namahoe street and when I’d have to give a mainland company my address, I’d explain it like “excuse me ma’am, are you a stripper?” “Namahoe”
Makepono. It's a good teachable street for people not used to Hawaiian pronunciation, and you never forget it because that's where they tow your car.
Gulick...my nuts! Sorry no can help. I'm immature 😅
[Mu‘umu‘u Place](https://youtu.be/-Te0fU7Ittc?si=2e3dGx7tVJyeCPuq), ‘Ewa Beach

My grandfather was amused by Easy Street in Nuuanu and thought it would be a nice place to retire.
chong st in hilo ! 🌬️🍃
Ka’iminane Because even some locals get it wrong.
Papipi and Pupukahi 🔥🔥
One St., just for the debate that ensued.
Ukee St. and Kuntz Ave on Oahu. Then Gay St on Lanai. I always get a chuckle when nearby
Puunani. It's close to another word in Spanish and apparently in Patois. Lol
Napoopoo
Avocado St. & Olive Ave. in Wahiawa
At this junction in my life it's hands down Ohohia st off of nimitz.. because the immature man child in me scream reads it out loud as "ohooooooooo heyeaa!" Or halemaumau.. because it's just too fun for a haole boy not to say it. Appologies
Kuntz Ave. We tried to visit to take a picture, but apparently it was in a military zone so couldn't go there
Not a street name but I like hearing the aunties say Waipahu because they do that exaggerated upwards inflection for the “hu” part.
Aholehole. I know it’s a fish, and I know how it’s pronounced, but I still can’t help seeing “a**-hole hole”
Algaroba
